WATSON'S PLUMBING & HEATING

Description of Work: I'd had a leaky faucet in my bathroom for some time, and also was unable to totally close the drain on the bathtub. I finally got around to calling someone. Watson's reviews on Angie's List were very good, so I called them on Monday. The man I spoke with when I called was probably not the usual person to answer the phone. I was going to be out of my apartment the next morning, so arranged for the crew to come between 1-4 the next afternoon. | |While I was out the next morning, at approximately 10:50 AM, I got a phone call from the driver that said he would be at my apartment in 10 minutes, 2 HOURS EARLY. I informed him that he wasn't supposed to come until 1 at the earliest. As it happened, I was delayed a bit, so I called him back to warn him that I might not be back until about 1:30. Soon after 1:30, the driver called and said he couldn't find my address. The person who had answered the phone the day before had added an extra digit to my address, so the guys were in the Bronx rather than in Manhattan. When the crew (plumber and apprentice) finally showed up, They had the wrong equipment, because they had been told that I had a slow drain. This necessitated that they go out to get the part they needed to fix the faucet. | |In the end, the work was well done, and the plumber and his helper cleaned up well after themselves, I have no quarrel with the actual work done, but the comedy of errors in the office wasted a great deal of their time and probably cost me more than I would otherwise have paid. The B for punctuality and the C for professionalism is not on the head of the plumber, but on the person in the office.
