At Urban Pioneering Architecture, our goal is not only to meet our clients’ requirements, but also to exceed their expectations. Each of our clients receives the principal’s full attention. We are invested in every phase of the project from conception to completion to ensure consistent care and quality is maintained throughout the entire process. We strive to create a distinctive design that maintains budget requirements within a unique and fulfilling environment, specifically tailored to the needs of each client. We have completed residential projects throughout New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Florida, ranging in size from small additions and renovations to new home construction, in a variety of styles from traditional to contemporary. We have been licensed in New York and New Jersey for over 10 years and I am a LEED Accredited Professional, reflecting our strong commitment to sustainable design. We have developed the use of building modeling technology so that every project is conceived and designed three-dimensionally. This enables us to provide accurate three-dimensional views as the design progresses, and move quickly from schematic designs to construction documents. Wherever possible, we look for ways to make the project work within its specific context, whether that means the urban environment of the city, or the natural environment of the world around us. We strive to use renewable resources, environmentally friendly products, and take advantage of the benefits of the local environment, incorporating passive or active solar design where possible. For a home owner, environmentally conscious and energy efficient design means lower long-term costs, increased resale value and marketability without increased construction costs.

The designs that Jim came up with were concise and easy to follow. He met with the contractor to insure that our wishes were not being compromised, as at several points they were. He helped source the products we really wanted and actually ordered several for us at his discount. The contractor we hired for the kitchen installation turned out to be a mistake and we relied heavily on Jim to intervene and keep the project on track. Do not be afraid to express your requirements no matter how ridiculous the trophy kitchen companies tell you they are. We wanted a working chef's kitchen. The high end kitchen companies were having none of it. Jim and Sarah made it happen exactly as we invisioned it.
Description of Work: Urban Pioneering designed our kitchen this time. We had previously hired them in 2008 to design an addition for our house and in 2003 to design a small addition to our beach house in Delaware. Jim has terrific ideas for space usage. Every inch is utilized in some capacity. They have consistently been able to visualize what we were thinking and make it a reality. Sarah's eye for interior design is amazing. She understood what I was looking for when I was unable to verbalize it and her suggestions were invaluable to theend product they delivered. Their services are competitively priced, they are highly professional, and were fun to work with.
