The quality of the roof job was excellent and was done on time. The crew worked diligently and long hours to complete the job promptly. They were friendly, respectful, and cleaned up well after the job was done. The problems we had with this company preceded the completion of the job. The first bid we had from Timber Home Improvements was about $30,000, but if we signed up on this first presentation we could get the job for about $26,000. We signed up, which was my error. Another bid that came in a couple days later offered the job at about $18,500. This was from another reputable company that had done several other homes in our area. Anyway, too late to change because Timber Home Improvements said they would charge us 30% of $26,000 to back out of the contract. My mistake. The only other problem was that, when they were about 1/4 done with the install, a neighbor (who does construction work) noticed the wrapping material was not the correct type that is required for the neighborhood - and not the correct grade according to the contract we had signed. It was a lower grade and lower cost material than we had agreed to. I brought this to the attention of the main office, who double-checked and agreed that was the case. The lower grade material was removed and replaced correctly and promptly. All in all, a mixed review. I am happy with the work, but feel duped that I have paid too much. Get at least two estimates is my advice.

A young man showed up at the door and offered to have Timber Home Improvements give us an estimate for roof replacement. We had lost quite a few asphalt tiles on our garage roof from some recent storms so I agreed to get an estimate. Normally I would have said no but the young man was so nice that I agreed. So then the estimator, Roger, came a few days later and gave us what I thought was a VERY reasonable estimate to replace the garage roof. The financing was also so attractive that we decided to do it and Roger was also extremely nice! We made an appointment and the crew came about a week later. I couldn't believe how FAST they were and how well they worked together. There were at least 7 men and it took them only 3 hours. The roof and vents look great and were a huge improvement for our leaking old roof. They cleaned up and hauled away all the old roof and everything was perfect. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Timber Home Improvements to anyone I know. Our experience with them was perfect in every way and they even called a couple of weeks after the job was done to make sure that all is well. If we had any problems, which we don't, I'm confident they would fix them quickly.

Their service was very good. The job was completed quickly and they cleaned up after themselves. The roof looks great and the product is good also.

I am going to recommend them to other people that need roofs. It took them only 1 day to start and finish the job. They did a great job and I will be telling people to use Timber Home Improvements. The salesman was excellent, he answered all of my questions and concerns. The on site supervisor was very helpful in explaining that was happening and gave me his number to call if anything needs to get address. They stressed sending out a person if I have any issues with the new roof.

I responded to a cold call by a young man at my door wanting to know if I wanted an estimate for windows. While I was not too impressed with him, I accepted his offer to have someone one from Timber Home Improvements to provide an estimate. This was sometime late in July. Roger LeClair, with the company promptly arrived 7/19/2014, for the estimate. We discussed windows to be replaced and he offered suggestions. His bid seemed reasonable compared to other offers that I'd received years previously. Windows were ordered from the Ply Gem company taking several weeks to manufacture. Elizabeth at the office kept me informed of status, calling to tell me when the windows arrived and to schedule the installation date. Two Timber staff, Aaron and Jimmy (I think) arrived 15 minutes early for 7:30 a.m. appointment. Began immediately to remove windows beginning with the large picture window in the living room. Amazingly, by 8:20 a.m. all 6 windows were removed and the new window triple panel window placed in the living room. They worked well as a team, both very professional and personable. They answered all my questions and concerns. They have an excellent work ethic, working steadily on the job for the five hours they were here. Sealing the windows was done with foam, as needed and caulking inside and out. No outside framing was removed so there was no painting for me to do, either outside nor inside. The trim boards removed holding the old windows in the frame were replaced with new trim and caulked. All the windows were cleaned inside and out, my floors vacuumed!! I could not have had a more skilled and experienced team of fellows replacing my windows. I completed a short survey, and signed a form signifying that the work was completed. Later, Elizabeth called from the office to follow up my experience with the installation. I have no hesitation about recommending this company. I am very pleased with the quality of the windows installed and the workmanship and care provided. Estimate given, 7/19/2014. Windows installed 9/18/2014.

I can't say enough of how much I appreciate the service I got from Timber Home Improvements. I was in a huge bind on my roof I was trying to save money to replace it next year but I did not feel comfortable going another winter with my roof in this condition. When Roger came to my house and saw my roof he felt the same as I did. I was having problem with financing but Roger and I went back and forth for about a week until he found a solution to my problem. I really felt like to Roger this was not about making a sale he turned it into his mission to make sure me and my family would have a warm and safe home this winter. Just watching the roofers work on my house was a sight to see it looked like a well synchronized orchestra I could not believe how much they had gotten done in one day. Pete the instillation manager was awesome he started calling me about 4 days before we were scheduled to let me know how the other job was going and wanted to see how we were doing. I have never experienced such professionalism from a company before. So next year instead of a roof we will be having new windows and siding done and I will be calling Timber Home Improvements back. I would recommend Timber to anyone.

I would highly recommend them. They are all very professional. I will definitely use this company again. They also take good care of disabled veterans and gave me a nice military discount.

It was great. They showed up on time and they were very polite. It only took about 8 hrs to get the job done and when they left it was like they were never here. They picked up everything they had thrown off the roof. My yard was just the way it was when they got here. They even put up a piece of plywood over my tall flower to protect it.

The crew showed up, ON TIME, energetic and got right onto the job. They were professional regarding the job, and communicating with me as to what they were going to do, and asking if I had any issues they needed to be aware of, like my two large dogs in the back yard, that I made them aware of. The protected my property from damage, and showed concern for it as if it were their own. The work was done quickly, stripping the old roof in one day, and placing the new one on the next, completing it by lunch. I was happy with the level of professionalism shown, and would hire any one of this crew personally if seeking to employ someone that would make me proud of my employees. It was also very professional to have the Timber Home Improvement inspector arrive as the work was completed, so we could discuss the work, quality, and any problems or questions that may have arisen, making it easy to complete the job, and paperwork required in a timely fashion, giving me freedom to go do whatever I wished and not be bound, waiting for a representative to arrive. Well done Timber.

The work went really well. The crew arrived at 7 AM and had the windows installed and wiped down by 4 PM. It was only a crew of three and they got the job completed efficiently. Every member of Timber that we talked to were always very nice and concerned about our satisfaction. They communicated with us throughout the whole process, and were very flexible with their scheduling.

They were really helpful, they communicated well and the job was done quickly and efficiently. I would refer them to anyone.

Original contact person was friendly, professional, and respectful. Answered all of our questions, did not pressure us. He gave us a description of how the process would go and a loose timeline. All of the Timber staff we spoke with were professional and courteous. The problem came with time planning. We were given a date and time. We adjusted our work schedules for that date and time. The evening prior, we were contacted by the project manager to say that the date and time would be different due to an unexpected crew problem. When given the new date and time, the time was a range in the afternoon. They did arrive at the end of that range, and they worked quickly and efficiently. The work they did was good quality, and the clean up was good; we have found bunches of staples in our garden since then, so if you have children, take a good look before they go barefoot. So overall, I would say that they did good work for a reasonable price. They were professional and respectful. If you want thorough and specific details or to have a specific expectation met, you should probably take the initiative to tell them what your priority is.

It went well. They worked quickly and cleanly. They also work around a new chimney being added in at a different time. Let us know of any wood that was dry rotted and needed replaced.

They were excellent. Every aspect of the job went fantasticly. From the sales, to the office staff, to the crew that worked on our home: they were all amazing.

The project estimator arrived as scheduled and explained the product in detail. He told us how much it was going to cost, how the installation would happen, and then how the project would finish with a final inspection with me. He also helped us obtain financing for this large project. The installation crew arrived a little before the estimated job start time. The foreman then explained what they were going to be doing. His demeanor was professional and kind. My wife and I stayed at home during the project, and we could tell that they were working hard and efficient as a well oiled machine. They cleaned up the work site including my gutters. The final inspection began the next day as promised. The roof looks wonderful. Pictures were taken of the entire roof and every detail was explained to me to my satisfaction. I would recommend Timber to anyone who has a roofing project that needs doing.

This is the second time we've contracted with Timber Windows and Roofs. We had our roof replaced about 18 months ago and had such a wonderful experience, we contracted with them again to do a full replacement of our gutters and downspouts. We were not disappointed! They sent out the same sales person, Roger, that talked with us about roofing to discuss our gutter needs. This was very helpful as he already knew our house, our priorities, and our likes/dislikes. Roger was prompt, courteous, and helpful. Within a day or two, we had a date scheduled for the contractors to remove the old gutters and install the new ones. The contractor came out the evening before so that we could discuss the work, how long it would take, etc. This was helpful as I was not able to be home while the actual installation took place. The contractor arrived on time as did his crew on the morning of the installation and they did a fantastic job. Pricing was very competitive and they offer a payment plan, which is an option we used for the roof, but not for the gutters. We are very pleased with our relationship with Timber Windows and Roofs and if we need doors, windows or siding next for our home, they will be the first business we call.

The rep was very courteous and punctual. Unfortunately, he misquoted us the square footage of our roof. I didn't realize this until the next two estimates came in. Both of those bids were lower obviously. I'm not sure if he was trying to screw us over or just got the measurements wrong. Either way, I chose to go with some one else.

There was someone canvassing the neighborhood doing cold calls for timber and asked if we'd be interested in a quote. We have some minor repairs that we would like done, so we said sure as long as there was no hard sale. The salesman was on time and very knowledgeable about the product, but there was still a bit of a hard sale at the end and he seemed a little mad after we said no, as if we just wasted his time. The biggest issue was the price. It was double what any other roofing company would charge using the same material. I don't remember the date they came out but it was sometime in early November.

They provided all services as noted on time and professionally. I was really pleased with the service. However, I wished we'd shopped around for price a little more. They cold-called us right after we had bought our house and as first-time homeowners, I wasn't yet accustomed to putting jobs out to bid. I feel like perhaps I could have gotten a better price if I had.

I can't say enough about how impressed I am with the whole team at Timber. From Roger and Mike, who came out and spent nearly two and a half hours with me during my estimate, making sure that I was comfortable, informed and knowledgeable about the entire process, to Elizabeth, my personal customer service rep, who kept me up to date, to Peter the wonderful quality supervisor, to the whole work team of great guys who tackled my roof - every single person that I dealt with at Timber was friendly, educated and professional and had my best interests in mind. I had a LOT of folks come out and give me estimates before deciding to work with Timber and was absolutely put off by the bad communication, in-your-face sales techniques and unprofessional standards of other companies. As a business owner myself, I put a lot of stock in clear communication and a practice of keeping clients updated and happy throughout every step of a job process. Timber's bid wasn't the lowest (it also wan't the highest), but it was by far the most thorough and offered the best quality and warranty. Well, well worth the money. I'm planning on having new siding put on within the next couple of years and I absolutely will not hesitate to call them again. The entire team at Timber has my highest recommendation.

The experience was good. They are a little expensive. We are getting more windows put in and we chose not to go with them because of their pricing. The windows are fabulous quality. We couldn't afford to do that for the rest of the house.

It's been great so far. They're very prompt and courteous. They cleaned up after themselves. The installation manager was right on top of it if we had an issue and if we got the windows we ordered. And the door, we have to wait. Their price was reasonable.

Over a course of time, I've discovered numerous problems with their installation. When they caulked the exterior of the windows, they did not use paintable caulk. They used silicon. We are unable to paint around them. There were several areas around the windows that were not caulked at all and gaps were left. They installed some interior wooden molding around a few of the windows and split the molding when they installed it. They also installed some plastic molding on the interior of the windows to cover some cuts they made. They nailed that plastic on and through the wooden window frames. I recently found out that when they installed some of the windows they were bowed from top to bottom. This was the tipping point for me to contact Angie's List. Initially when I discovered the first problems, I spoke with a manager. They didn't seem to be concerned about it.

The salesman did not arrive on time. He was late, and perhaps to cover his nervousness about having been late, talked more than he listened. We clearly stated that we wanted four windows replaced, two upstairs and two downstairs (for which we wanted a quote), and that we wanted a separate quote on the cost for replacing a door with option (1) french doors or option (2) a slider with a french door and quot;look.and quot; The salesman measured the kitchen windows (two of the four to be replaced), He provided a handwritten estimate for the replacement cost (window plus installation) before he left. He promised estimates on the replacement cost for the two other windows and the door project soon. Since it was a Friday afternoon, we expected the estimates on either Mon or Tues. He left his notebook and other materials behind; I called to let him know, and he returned to retrieve them later that day. We did not receive an estimate on Mon, and on Tues we called to find out why. It was in this conversation he requested the dimensions for the two upstairs windows (!!), which he had not himself measured when he was here. The estimate he provided Tues evening was flawed in several respects. (1) It did not break out the cost for the upstairs windows, as we had requested; it was combined with the door quote. (2) It clearly indicated that the company was quoting windows unlike the ones we wanted. (3) The terms used to describe what was included in the quote (the descriptions of the windows made reference to makers we were not familiar with) and not included were ambiguous at best. (4) We did not get a quote for french doors versus a slider, but only for the slider option. The next day, I called and requested to speak to someone other than the salesman. The person I spoke with promised that the GM would call me back. He did not call back. Instead, the salesman called me back. I spoke with him and again explained the quotes that we wanted and the types of windows that we wanted. An hour or so later, he sent email with a price quote for the two upstairs windows. The email was one sentence long. This quote was probably for the type of window we had requested, but without any technical details whatsoever. No quote for the door project was provided.
