I swear that these 1 star reviews are 100% in fact true ! I’m dealing with them now 1 month in my claim stillllll waiting for a tech . Every time they go to send one they never show or call!!! Now the 5th time they promise someone will come and do the proper diagnosis . I repeat do not give this company a dime it’s a bait and switch and I’ll be looking to gather a class action lawsuit against them if anyone is interested

After spending a good week reviewing multiple home warranty plans with several companies and being lied to, I mentioned to the HSC Warranty sales rep that I was quite concerned with the dishonesty and wasting of my time with these other companies who are quick to make false promises to get a sale. The HSC Warranty sales rep assured me this would not be the case, but it actually was the case. I realized after reading the plan, he blatantly lied to me. I made several attempts to complain to his supervisor and the president of the company. Crickets. This company is operating in an unethical manner and doesn't seem to want to make it right. Buyer beware and read the fine print in the plan.

I had some issues with discrepancies on what they were going to charge me and what the representative said they were going to charge me. I had to call back and forth and get the price straightened out. They were reliable as far as them coming out when they said they were going to. The interaction was good. The dishwasher is fixed and working well.
Description of Work: We have a monthly contract. We used them a couple of months ago to fix my dishwasher. The office said it was $79 because it was a really easy fix but the gentleman charges in $129.

the service club said that their hands were tied and it was our only option to wait even after we'd already been waiting for 3 weeks. We are at three and a half weeks and the Home Service Club has said it will be a minimum of 5 more weeks without our refrigerator.
Description of Work: The technician came out to look at my Samsung refrigerator. He diagnosed the control panel was out and said aquiring the part would take 5 days. The technician then called back and stated that the part was no longer available. The Service Club contacted Samsung directly and they said the part was back ordered. The Service Club went to approval of replacing the appliance bebecause they stated that a refrigerator was an essential appliance of the home.at this point they decided that it was best to wait for the parts which would be 6 weeksinstead of replacing the appliance.

Our A/C unit went out in the middle of July heat. After promptly filing a claim on Wednesday night we waited until Friday to have a local contractor, who was contacted by Home Service Club, to call us and inform that the earliest they could show up was Monday! On Monday the contractor called and said that the earliest they could show up was Thursday!!! I called HSC again and again and they promised to find someone else. The "someone else" finally showed up on Wednesday, one full week after the A/C unit went out. The new contractor, Jason, quickly identified the faulty control board of the heating/cooling unit as the problem; he provided the info to HSC and said that they will make a call on what to do next. A call to HSC later on Wednesday revealed that they were still "reviewing the info" they received and were waiting for some additional pieces of info they needed from Jason. I called Jason, and he said that no, he had already gave them all the options: replace the part for $400+ or replace the unit for $6k+. Multiple calls to HSC again on Thursday (day 8) resulted in same responses. Requests to speak to the supervisor resulted in promises of the supervisor calling me (that not happen until Friday, day 9). I finally gave up on Thursday afternoon, called Jason and told him to order the part. The part arrived on Monday (day 12), was installed on Tuesday (day 13), and this fixed the problem. Meanwhile, HSC supervisor Samantha called me on Friday (day 9 of the saga) and told me that they were still reviewing the information and the options. Samantha called me next week to inform me that they denied the claim because of pre-existing conditions. She made an offer of $400 off towards replacing the system wholesale. I declined, as Jason indicated that there is no reason to replace the system. This decision by HSC is completely arbitrary as the A/C unit has worked fine before. The story gets worse: there is no good way to get the wrong decision righted. Only after getting my claim denied did I realize that the standard HSC contract offers only forced arbitration with a private party as a means of resolving disputes (i.e. no small claims court or such). This means paying $200 for a case heard by a company whose impartiality cannot be verified (for all I know they are in bed with HSC). Bottom line: the way an HSC contract is written they can deny your claims with impunity. This is a terrible deal, no matter what the "testimonials" on their site say. AVOID HSC. If you decide to consider other warranty companies, beware (and read the contract carefully). As for me, lesson has been learned: I will never consider home warranties again.

Update: A senior supervisor called me the next day to explain to me their phone line has been having trouble due to constructions around the area, some phone lines got cut by the construction crew and customers have been having difficulties getting connected. She was very courteous and offered to waive the service call fee and will call the plumber herself for me. I've been waiting for the whole day, and still have not received a call from the alleged contractor, or any update from HSC. So I tried to call HSC to see what is going on. The first time I called, I was on hold for about 10 minutes, then something else came up, I had to leave my desk. The second time I called, I was on hold for 25+minutes, until the line couldn't hold anymore and automatically hang up on me. So the last time I called, I went with a different option tried to cancel my membership, and now I am told to wait until some special person to call me back to let me know if my cancellation request would be granted. Seriously???
Description of Work: A little while after I submitted my service request online, a rep from HSC called and told me the contractor will be contacting shortly to confirm appointment time.

After researching online I decided to try this home warranty company. My microwave quit shortly after our contract went into effect and I contacted them for service the day after my coverage started. I was told our account was being 'flagged'. I thought..."Flagged because I was using the warranty service?" Humm. The repair was completed and luckily I didn't need to call them for several months but then my washing machine broke down! A household of 6 and no washing machine? I called, after about a week they assigned a local repair service that took a week to call to schedule to even look at the machine. First impression?not professional, at all! Honestly, I didn?t even want to let them into my house but I did and they determined, (with the help of an Ipad and Google), the problem was the bearing. They report to the warranty company that the bearing in my machine had gone bad and as a result the drum was 'damaged'. The warranty company determined it was my fault and refused any coverage on my machine. Said they don?t cover ?damage? I was without a washing machine for several weeks throughout that mess. (Until I had to go buy a new one of course). ARRGH? then my ice maker stopped working! I sent in a request for service on 5-6 and again on 5-13 (because I hadn?t heard from anyone). The same unprofessional guy came back out, and said it was a $275 fix? (Ipad, google and all). I was so unhappy with that guy just being in my home, when he left after just a few minutes looking online I found they were not even licensed to do business! Complained to the warranty company and was told they can send someone else but if it?s more than the $275 the other guy estimated I would have to pay it out of pocket. Waited a week and never heard from another service company? complained again and they assigned yet a 3rd service company that turned out to have much more experience and was a legitimate repair company. He determined it was more like a $700+ fix. Warranty company offered me 2 options. a) I pay $452 out of pocket for the repair. Or b) they give me $275 towards purchase of a $2000+ icemaker. That?s a no-brainer?time to get rid of the warranty company! (Now I'm totally rethinking about my front-load washing machine I left on the curb for the trash pickers....probably wasn't even what the unlicensed guy said it was!) But wait! They refuse to end my contract because I?ve written a negative review of them on line. YES those words were actually spoken to me. All in all this company was very disappointing and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Unfortunately, when you look for home warranty company information on the web, there is a lot of misleading information out there. I have found it difficult to find actual consumer opinions except for here on Angie?s. There seems to be a lot of false testimonials steering you to buy this home warranty plan or that home warranty product. Do we really believe that ALL the reviews are 5 star? Really? After my experience with this company, I'm thinking maybe No Home Warranty is the best home warranty! I'd rather choose myself who I let into my house and not have another person decide if I'm going to get a repair or not, I can decide that for myself.
Description of Work: I have had home warranty coverage for years, and recently decided to change to Home Service Club because it seemed they covered more appliances without any extra added cost. After several unsatisfactory experiences with them I am trying to end my contract but because I have written an unfavorable review online they are refusing.

Description of Work: Do not use this home warranty company. They are so terrible. When you place an order, it takes days before the contractor contacts you. Even then they don't keep their appointments. If you ask for another contractor they refuse . When you try to complain to the company, expect to be on hold for 10-15 min. It Impossible to speak with a supervisor unless you're willing to wait 72 hours. That the appointed response time. I told them not to automatically renew my contract, they did anyway. So now m waiting 72 hours to speak to a supervisor. In the mean time, it's 95 degrees outside and my air conditioner is down. That means it's over 100 degrees in my house. BTW, they continue to automatically take my monthly payment!!!!

I initially had issues getting them to pay for the plumber they sent to me. I did not realize that a plumber using a "jetter" is not covered by my comprehensive coverage, however if they had used a "snake," it would have been fully covered. After many calls back and forth with their company over a period of several days, and writing letters requesting resolution, I was contacted by a knowledgeable customer service manager, "Dan," who explained all this to me. In addition, and as a courtesy, the company is going to reimburse me much of what I paid the plumber, as they seem committed to wanting to make things right with the customer. Overall, the hold times to contact the company were a little longer than I would have liked but I am satisfied with the resolution offered (and understand more about plumbing stoppages than ever).

On September 2, I contacted the Home Service Club for service on my HVAC. They said the bill is $867 on top of the $125 service fee to fix a burnt out relay. Furthermore they said if I paid the amount, they would send me a check for $100. I paid the repair cost and service fee but never received the $100. I called each month and each time, they came up with some lame excuse why they have not sent the $100 check. First they said they needed a copy of the invoice, which I promptly sent them and they acknowledged receiving. But after waiting a month and not hearing back from them, I called them and was told it takes 30 to 45 business days to process my check. I called them again after that time and left messages but did not hear back. I got fed up and I called on November 7 and canceled my policy. I spoke to the Club today and they said that they had not sent the check because I had canceled my policy. This is absolutely the worst home warranty provider that I have ever dealt with.
Description of Work: This company is a total scam. They are not a home warranty company but a referral company. They charge their customers a monthly fee of $37.95 and when there is service request, they charge an outrageous service fee of $125. Most services providers can be do the work for the $125 but if the service costs are more, they they expect the customer to pay for the repair. Essentially the customer is paying the monthly fee for the Club to refer you a technician that will do the job. They have been charging me $37.95 every month and when I had a claim

This Home Service Club company charged me 125 dollars as the Service Trade Fee (deductible fee) even though they weren't able to fix the microwave. Unbelievable. Feels like I am been cheated... Customer Service representative couldn't tell me in case of replacement what they will be paying me. I don't think they will even cover the installation charges.

Joined HSC on 7/30/14, in the summer when I am not using my furnace. After Labor Day is typically when I test and turn on my heating system every year, change the filter, and make sure it is ready to go for the Winter. On 9/8/14 when I attempted to start my furnace up, it did not turn on. HSC automatically ASSUMES that my furnace was not in working condition as of the contract start date and they cancelled my contract without ever having even seen the furnace. If they are going to make their own assumptions on whether something is working or not then they should require pre coverage inspections. They make up their own rules as they go along. This company is a scam and all consumers should be made aware of their unscrupulous practices. If I had requested service in the dead of winter, I would be left freezing in a home with no heat. Because I requested the service in the Fall, HSC ASSUMES that the furnace was not working as of last winter. When in fact, they have no way of knowing that since they couldnt be bothered sending a heating technician to look at it or even diagnose it. Warning to all consumers; DO NOT EXPECT HSC TO BE THERE FOR YOU IF YOU EVER NEED THEM. GO WITH A WARRANTY COMPANY THAT WILL ACTUALLY HONOR THEIR OWN CONTRACT.

Response from The Home Service Club
While The Home Service club values each and every customer and strives to provide the best possible service to all of our customers, there are situations where we encounter fraud. When a customer has a heating claim on a new contract that just started (in the summer in the end of July) on an issue existing prior to the start of the contract (on a unit that at the very minimum, last operated the last time it was turned on which is the end of last winter way before the contract started), their contract is breached subject to cancellation. We love helping our customers and pride ourselves on providing a great service to our customers, but at the same time we must take a stand against an individual who is attempting to defraud our company. We stand fully behind our coverage and our teams work hard to help each and every customer.

Signing up was easy...getting any information after... not so much. They said that they were going to send us a paper contract and one by email. Neither happened. I found their number from an automatic payment listed on my bank web site. The number put me on a hold loop that kept saying "Your call is important to us" but they never answered. Called back another day when I had more time and they finally answered. I had my email up when a foreign woman said she resent the contract info. I did receive an email from some foreign woman so I asked the lady on the phone what her name was. Sure enough it was her. I asked why my contract was coming via her email. She said thats how they do it. Well I could have gotten the contract if it was delivered in a strange name but I would have deleted it. I do not open mail from people I do not know. It should have had the company name on it and I would have known to open it. So I have had the policy for over a month and had no idea how to use it. I searched for they website. I tried to log in but it asked for a user name and password...neither of which I knew. I had to "forgot my user name", go to email to retrieve it. That email came in the company name. I then had to repeat the process to get password. I immediately change it from the random letters and numbers that they assigned. Using them shouldnt be this hard !!! I do need to make a claim but kind of afraid to. Either way I cant cancel now because it is past the 30 day mark. Not so sure I like this company now.

Awful service. This company 'steals' $650 and does not provide any service for it. Empty promises included. We cannot believe a company can get away with such service. My 83 year old mother will suffer until Home Service Club decides to give me service which I already overpaid.
Description of Work: They ignore my service calls after paying an enormous amount of $650 annual. They claim how great there services are before you actually are a member. I have called 3 times because my air conditioner is not cooling. Under my contract it states in black and white that this is covered! The call center seems to have people answering who are very unprofessional, rude and do not pass on calls. They promise they will but I never hear anything and keep calling only to get a response 'all lines are busy'. Finally they sent someone out to look at the air conditioner. Now it has been 3 days and my home is 90 degrees and nobody has done any follow up calls.

Still waiting on Monday evening without a call of someone coming by to fix my air conditioner. House is now about 90 degrees and we are unable to do necessary work inside.
Description of Work: I called them on Sunday to find out they have an answering machine telling the customer they open on Monday thru Friday. Well, if my heater or something else breaks on the weekend, we are out of luck. The advertisement on their website claims 'how great their services are', but once they have the paid premium, the service stinks. We have a broken air conditioner since Saturday and are trying to do work in the house and cannot because it is about 88 degrees inside!!! Someone from this company called me on MOnday , took my details and could only tell me that my deductible was $125!!!! She could not even tell me when someone would come fix the air conditioner. Unbelievable service! This company seems like a big big vacuum sucking all the money in and it never comes out.

They change their billing process which I am not too happy about but I had to just see how it works out. I put on a monthly basis. I sent them a payment every month but once they do is when the guy comes out I pay him and then they take it off of what I owe them on a yearly basis so I don’t know about that but when the guy came out he did a good job of course I ended up paying for it. I’m not sure and If I have time I am going to look at the bill and see if they are doing it correctly and if not I want to get rid of them and find and I will be calling you guys to find someone else. The guy that came did an excellent job. Their price is a little high.

We had an Attorney to file suit against them to pay air condition that went out as we were living in this house in the past four months, and they wont pay for anything because they said that we did not work with them correctly. I would not recommend them to anybody, we lost $5 because of them. i called them on a Saturday and she said she have nothing to do with it until the regular people would come in on a Monday. We called them Saturday and they showed up on Thursday evening, we had to make calls asking them why they weren't here, i would call five days.

I did receive a call later from the individual that I talked to originally and he explained that because of the bad weather on the east coast there phone lines had had problems .... He said he had tried to return my call but did not get through .... I then talked to his supervisor who said they also had tried to call .... After hearing their explanation and knowing how sever the weather was on the East coast, I was satisfied with their apology and would consider their company in the future.
