Setting up appointment I described the cleaning needed to be done and the size of my place, via the form posted on the company website. Someone responded within an hour, spelling out hourly charge and minimum job length. Two more emails were exchanged. One regarding the supplies I need to provide, or pay $35 for them to provide. Another setting the date and time. Following-up They emailed me the list of supplies the day following the initial contact as promised. I called their office to provide credit card information and confirmed the date/time. The day-of A gentleman showed up 10 minutes after the appointment. No awkward clocking ritual with office. I gave him the supplies and a step, showed him the various rooms, pointed out things I needed deep-clean. While he was cleaning, I was unpacking. So I was able to watch very briefly his work. He was quiet, efficient and pretty attentive to details. He spent about an hour cleaning the bathroom, which I asked every corner to be cleaned. Then he cleaned the floors, window sills, sufaces. When we had 20 minutes left, we proceeded to my other apartment to clean the bathroom in there. Everything was done in high quality. Conclusion I recommend this business.

We had bookshleves to remove from one room. They were not built in but was just connected to the walls. The guy showed up without the proper tools. it started taking forever so I had to help out. I needed 2 pieces of wood cut into 4 smaller sizes and on a cubby hole. This took over 4 hours. I had hired this company before the previous year and the guy who was sent out to me was amazing. So good. I asked for him again and was told he was no longer with the company but I was being sent someone just as good. I trusted what I was told and didn't even mind that the price went up significantly from the previous year. At the start of the job I called Spotless to tell them I was unhappy with the amount of time a simple task was taking. One point the worker had to put up sheetrock over a piece of wall which was uneven so we could paint it and instead of one day it tool him 3 days. That's because he mis- measured the amount needed and then had the sheetrock cut into small pieces which resulted in it not being able to be put up as a single piece. When the walls had to be painted, the seams on the sheetrock (again a result of incorrect measuring) were buckling. Then it was suggested that he remove the sheetrock, put it up again and repaint. This is the type of work which tool place over two weeks. At one point after the numerous pieces of sheetrock were to be sanded I called Andrew and asked him to make sure he had a shopvac available for the guy to use. I was told there would be. The guy sanded and didn't have the shopvac with him so in order to get the dust out of my dining room, i had to let him use my personal home vacuum. He told me he would be sure to clean it after. That night I went to use the vacuum which would not work. I looked at it and then opened the barrel to realize the entire inside was covered with the dust. It clogged everywhere. He didn't clean out my vacuum. He simply wiped the front and emptied the dust. It took 4 hours to fix. I was so p*****. I was told over and over by Andrew that the worker's slowness was more of an attention to detail and I would be very pleased with the finished product. Not only was I not pleased but I was downright p*****. I sent Andrew an email telling him to cease work at my house. He then billed my credit card that was on file for an enormous amount of time and I didn't even have finished work. I contacted him to have a discussion about it and he told me since he had already billed my credit card and it was paid by American Express he "saw no reason he should issue me a credit". I contacted my credit card company to dispute part of the bill. Amex went back and forth between myself and Spotless and then found in my favor. A few days after I received a letter that they were closing the matter because Spotless had a opportunity but failed to provide them with information relating to the claims, Spotless sent me a notice that they were suing me. DO NOT use this company. Keep them away from your home, your belongings and mostly your credit card numbers.
Description of Work: I had a number of projects that I needed to get done around the house.
Spotless was doing repairs on a house that was inherited and had already had lots of work done. Here were the problems: 1) supervision of workers was done by afar (phone only) 2) the contract said they would supply the materials. They used the paint and tools in the house that were mine without permission and ruined some small tools. 3) They left my paint rollers and trays in a basement sink unwashed, and a polyurethane filled tray by an electrical outlet claiming the job was finished. 4) When I noticed all the items in the contract was not completed, they agreed to come back and finish the job, and that day, after I finally reached one of the workers, I was told they did not have the address or my number, so they didn't come. (To the worker's credit, he did arrive an hour later, surveyed my complaints and said he would be back tom'w, Saturday, to finish the work.--As it turns out, he did not come back until Monday. 5) After scraping old plaster from a kitchen wall, using my dish drainboard to catch it (!), pieces of plaster fell into the kitchen stove, blocking the gas vents. Afraid to turn the stove on, fearing a back-up or explosion, I called the fire department, who came and carefully inspected and pushed pieces of plaster out. 6) The worker was given a key to enter the house and given strict instructions to return the key to my place of work and give it to the receptionist. He gave the key to the building custodian, apparently for whatever reason, did not want to return the key to the 4th floor, where my office was located. Luckily, the custodian is honest and I received the key the next day. To their credit: The work they finally did was good. 2) Their supervisor, Andrew, was always courteous and promised to reimburse me for the paint and tools they used (still annoying since I have to go and buy them again--more of my time). I have not received a check! They did purchase a mop they ruined and returned it to the house. 3) Workers were congenial. As I read over the reports, it appears they are known for general cleaning. I don't know if they are newly branching out into handyman services or not, but they have to do better than this. If you use these guys, know that you must supervise at all times. Update: I did receive the check for replacement paint and tools ruined.
Description of Work: Note: The price includes materials we supplied. Floors on two levels polyurethaned. Basement ceiling and floor tiles stripped., Stairway wall painted, molding installed, small patch of kitchen wall smoothed ; area of 1 closet floor repaired.

I like the particular woman that they happen to send to me. I find her work good so I continue. She is intelligent and it is easy to work with her. Her cleaning is responsibly done so it's good. The price is fine for me and I am satisfied with it. I haven't gone around and checked prices. I plan to continue using her.

The handyman arrived right on time and called a half hour before to confirm our appointment. He stayed in the bathroom from start to finish. He was quick, clean, and polite. After he finished his job, I overheard him making a phone call where he said, "Why do you keep calling me? You know I'm at work." I appreciate that ethic. He was sent by the company whose prices were the most reasonable I have found after searching extensively.

The biggest problem was that they did not show up until 2 hours after the appointed time. Evidently there was a problem with the person they assigned to the job and they had to find someone else at the last minute, but there seemed to be a great deal of confusion about the situation. I had to call them a number of times to ask what was going on and had to complain because I had a very slim window of time to get the job done. I told them that they needed to send out two people for the job so that it would be done quickly. They did this and when they did arrive they did a fine job, but I could have lived without the aggravation.
Description of Work: I rent out an apartment and I needed to have it scrubbed clean before my new tenant moved in. The apartment was empty.

I called Spotless and they sent a person out that day to give an estimate. The actual time of the job was 4 hours less than the estimate so that was great. My only complaint was that they estimated $80 for supplies and I never received a full accounting with receipts for those expenses. Instead, I was billed $80.

Description of Work: My bathroom tile floor needed to be replaced. They removed the old tile, packaged it in garbage bags, cleaned up and then laid the new tile. While there, I asked them if they could remove a 96" x 8.5' wall of mirrors. The panels of mirrors were taken down, the debris was swept up.

Shawn Gordon was very good. Intelligent, efficient, methodical and careful. Worked steadily and thoughtfully. No one has removed the blades for cleaning before. No hesitation on a ladder. Courteous.

The crew was well organized. They also worked very well together. They did very heavy housecleaning, and they got everything done that I wanted. It took them from nine in the morning to ten at night. They did an excellent job.

We were happy with the demolishing of the old wall, the molding of the wall on the other hand was less than par. They also did a very poor job on the paint job that they did in the other room. In the room with the paint they just molded over a problem instead of fixing it for us. Plus also they charged us 2,000 dollars more than estimated.
Description of Work: So they were supposed to come in and remove a wall and repaint our living room.

Spotless went out of their way to match my schedule as I had a renter moving into the apartment that same week. The housekeeper they sent contact me by phone and was professional. She cleaned the apartment adequately for the price (3 hours work). I would have paid more for her to spend more time cleaning the wood blinds, but I think this was partly my fault for not being more clear. I definitely got services worth the price I paid.

They were OK. They weren't the best cleaners in the world. Whenever I would print off a list of exactly what to do and I would always get a phone call with them complaining about how long this could take. It takes them 4 hours to do 680 square feet. I think they spray and swipe.

It started out fine. I called the company and spoke to a lady named Constance and it was no problem setting up an appointment within a day. I told her that it was a big house with about 13 rooms, 4 floors, and construction had just been done and she said no problem. I became a little concerned when she called me the next day to ask for my apartment number. I reminded her that it was a house and she remembered and told me that someone would be coming the next day. I told her that one person would not be enough and she said that I could have another person, and while it would cut down the time it would double the price. I said fine. The next day one of the workers showed up at 8am, which was the agreed upon time, and the next lady came 15 minutes later. The first lady said she could not start working until the other showed up. That was not much of a problem for me either. They started cleaning at 8:30am and stopped at 3:30, because it was taking extremely too long. I thought they were working slow, but my wife said they were working thoroughly. After inspecting their work I was right. In 7 hours ladies cleaned 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and the kitchen. The ladies said that they needed more people, because the job was too big. I told them that I told Constance twice that it was a 13 room house. They could not believe that she would send 2 people for such a big job. Needless to say I was very angry. I called the company that Monday, since the job took place on a Friday, to speak with Constance. She was not at her desk. I left two messages and here we are two weeks later and I have not received a call back. I was doubly annoyed when I saw my credit card billed the day after the job when the agreement was that I would be paying by check. She told me I just needed to hold the reservation with a credit card. I was also upset, because I was charged for work that started at 8 when it did not start until 8:30. Needless to say that they will not be getting any more of my business. Since they charge by the hour they take their time. And it's a shame, because I was looking for a company to use regularly.

They were mediocre. They were here for 4 hours. They came half an hour late and then sat and had breakfast. When they left I still had to do a lot of work. They are very nice and sweet but they are good for casual cleaning but if you want heavy duty cleaning then they are not the ones for you.

The estimate that they had originally gave me was between 400 to 600 dollars, they also told me that it would take one day and it ended up taking three days. Each day they sent out different people. There was one man out of six that was good, the others were terrible. He actually had to go back over some of the things the others had done.

I hired this company to clean out a vacant apartment. The unit was 2 bed 2 bath, brand new and in excellent shape. The estimate I received from Spotless was $30.00 per hour for their 3 hour minimum = $90.00. They did not think they would need three hours! I was charged $200.49 for a undone cleaning job. The bathrooms were not even wiped off and the floors throughout were not even swept or mopped. It appeared only the kitchen cabinets and appliances had been wiped off. In a kitchen that is smaller than an average closet with new, hardly used appliances, I am not sure how they can justify charging me for 6.75 HOURS! I called immediately and they said they would send "Jesus" back to do the floors and call me back. They did neither. I called again a few days later and they again said they would call "Jesus" and send him back over, and did I have a mop? They were instructed at hire that they must bring their own cleaning supplies. Eventually someone returned and cleaned the floors. Management never apologized or followed up with me. They had an opportunity to have a loyal customer forever but they chose to BURN this one!
