SMART PC REPAIR

On 1/18 Luciano from Smart PC picked up my laptop. He said I needed a new hard drive, and he would give me a new top of the line hard drive and I would be good for 5 years. On 1/27 they returned my laptop fixed . That day it began crashing. I planned to call if the problem continued. At 4 AM 1/28, I was told my father was in the final stage of cancer. I flew to Illinois on 1/28. My father died that day. I returned to NYC on 2/3. On 2/4 I called Smart PC. I told Alex the manager about the problems. He said they had a 7 day exchange policy, per the contract. As this was just the 8th day, I explained the extenuating circumstances. He said I should have called when out of town. Ultimately, they not only refused to deal with the sub-standard work, but were also guilty of the following: 1) They denied they told me that they would give me a top of the line hard drive that would last. Alex said they installed the same brand that had been in my computer. He said it was a bad brand so it was expected to break and they were not responsible. 2) The website says: "90 DAYS WORK WARRANTY: labor and parts on all repairs or installations is warranted for a period of 90 days." They do not stand by this. 3) They quoted $260. Upon arrival, the price had increased by $60 (40 for Windows & 20 for MacAfee). I understood the increase, but had been told $260 was my entire total. 4) Their website & contract say they accept credit cards. Upon delivery, they would only take cash. I had to run to various ATMs to get the total. 5) When I asked to speak to a superior, Alex refused.
