Precision Painting Plus

When looking on Angie's list, my husband and I found Precision Paint Plus. Their amazing reviews compelled us to repaint the apartment we just moved in to, as the old paint was old and dingy looking. First, we got in contact with Alex in order to estimate how much it would cost us to do basically our whole apartment. The very next day, (Monday) he came to do the estimate, as well as answer any additional questions we had. Alex was amazing and informative. He was so personable and caring-- NOTHING like any other 'professional' we have ever worked with! We chose our paint color on his recommendation alone, and we are IN LOVE. It's like he knew exactly how we wanted to furnish and decorate our apartment!! He was so accommodating when we explained that we needed to paint ASAP, as we're expecting very soon and want to finish painting before the baby's arrival. He scheduled someone to come paint the very next day!! Tuesday, two men came to begin painting. Edwin and John were so completely professional and amazing. They both were punctual and even stayed late to get the job done in as little time as possible (so we could move back into our apartment!) They were so polite and caring!! Edwin went the extra mile to take out our old TV mounts and fill the holes in the wall when they were already finishing up (Pregnancy brain over here forgot to ask them from the beginning)! He stayed later so that he could fill the holes and paint it over. We had also bought a Ralph Lauren textured paint to put on the molding around our windows (which is NOT easy-- the paint is VERY stubborn and difficult), and somehow, Edwin managed to make the moldings look MAGNIFICENT. They were done with the whole job by Thursday, and we were able to move back in by Friday. (In addition to his work, Edwin is a MENSCH. He heard me [the pregnant wife!] shuffling around in the other room- came in and asked me to please tell him if I want to move anything because he doesn't want me to lift anything! He did not let me lift a finger!!!!!!) Alex came to our apartment on Monday to check in. He informed us that if there is anything we're not satisfied with, that he can send someone back to fix anything. He was SO sweet in the way he expressed concern for our complete satisfaction-- it wasn't just a two minute standard in-and-out check in-- he genuinely took the time to make sure we were completely happy with everything!! There is no way i would ever work with any other company after service like that!!! I am so incredibly impressed with the people that came to work with us. They were straightforward and sweet and caring. I am so happy with everything that they did-- you can't really buy service like that! These people are just too good! Not only do I reccomend, I URGE anyone looking for painters to look no further. Ask for Alex to manage and Edwin and John to paint. You will not be disappointed. PPP, great job.

painter arrived on time and summited his entire eight hours to painting.

Most of the job was done within 5 days but the outside small hallway was not done for another 2 weeks likely because the paint crew moved on to another job. However that said, the work quality was excellent and they were thorough in cleaning up. Be cautious about their 5 day deal( 1 painter for 40 hours ) unless the walls are prepped beforehand because the better way to go is to get a fixed price. I will definitely use this company again

Precision painting was contracted to work on the exterior of my home which they said they would work from the outside and have the job completed with 3 men in 3 days. It was finally finished 5 weeks later as half the time they didn't show, sent only one person to work, painted the wrong finish on my entire house and had to re-do everything. They were absolutely without a doubt the worst contracting firm I have ever dealt with. They didn't bring a ladder to work from the outside on several occasions and to say that they are not people of their word is an understatement. All I received was excuses and out and out untruths. I had to monitor everything they did because the "project manager" was nowhere to be found and when he did come all he did was talk and disrupt the one guy who was trying to work. Not only were they ridiculous with their timing but the workmanship was shoddy at best. Paint on my floors, paint on my window glass and storms and no paint where it was supposed to be. When I opened my windows when they said the job was done their was no paint on the top of them . I had to inspect each thing they did like I was the project manager. I could not wait for them to get out of my house. Totally unprofessional, totally run away from these guys as fast as possible. Oh, and P.S. they are not a contracting firm. It is a call center where they send the work out to subcontractors. Beware of this as the subcontractors are not beholding to anyone there. There is no "owner" to go to if there is a problem. I discovered this after I hired them.

My family and I decided to renovate a living room in our Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn brownstone, which our family has owned since 1921. The living room was long overdue for restoration, so we fully understood that the scope of the project would require a significant amount of labor. Therefore, we searched Angie's List for a highly rated general contractor, who was not only reliable, but also had experience in handling difficult restoration jobs in aging buildings. Our search led us to select Precision Painting Plus. We entrusted our project to Precision Painting Plus based solely on customer reviews on Angie's List, and must say that we are highly pleased with the quality of the work Alex and his team provided for us. The process began seamlessly, with a simple phone call to Precision's central call center. Alan, a Project Manager for Brooklyn, visited our home to assess the current condition of the room and provide an estimate based on our requirements. Once we mutually agreed on the price and contracted Precision to begin, work commenced promptly on the morning of Thursday, September 17th. The entire process from beginning to end went flawlessly. Each morning, the Precision Team arrived between 8AM and 9AM, and worked until around 5PM; they were never tardy. Alex, our site foreman/project manager, was always directly engaged in the project and communicated with us via telephone, email, and daily site visits to ensure that our work was proceeding according to our guidelines. Alex's entire team, including Marcello, expertly and carefully cleaned the walls in the room, oil primed each area, then obviously applied the paint. The room had been painted in the 1960s with lead based paint, so Alex's team ensured that the areas where properly primed and that no dust would permeate the work area. The existing furniture was covered with ample amounts of plastic to ensure that no paint or chemicals damaged our property. We also had five hard-wood doors on the floor re-stained with Minwax brand red mahogany, because the finish on each door had dulled due to age and environmental conditions. Another component of the project involved restoring a sunken segment of the ceiling, which had dropped due to age. Alex's team expertly fixed this without having to demolish the entire ceiling and rebuild it, saving us a significant amount of money in the process. The cost of the entire project was around 4000 dollars, which is quite fair, given the scope of the work and the expert way in which Alex and his team exuded their professional skill. As it is commonly said, first experiences tend to be indelible, meaning that our first impression of a service provider or individual tends to be the most lasting. That said, I emphatically recommend Precision Painting Plus for their expert care, professionalism, and Alex's congenial approach to communicating with his clients. GOOD PAINTING BUT TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION AND LEFT A MESS. We used Precision 2 years ago and they were great. we called them again this summer and had a terrible experience. The job dragged on for much longer than estimated, and there was poor communication. 2 years ago, last time we used them, there was no "Manager". we dealt directly with the person who "owned" the job. this time, nobody really took ownership of the job. There was a "manager", who was not communicating w the painters or with us. The painters were not communicating with us either. We were originally told they would finish on Thursday. Then it turned out they would finish Friday. Then the painters didn't come on Friday but no one told us they were not coming. Then it was going to be Saturday. But the painter apparently had an emergency but again, we were not told. Then they were going to finish Sunday but they got a late start. They eventually finished Monday at 6 pm. But they left the room very messy--paint stains in the bath tub, dust every where, trash and materials scattered in the room, the old molding in a pile, paint stains on the floor. The second painter did not use drop cloths on the floors. We spent 3 hours cleaning. The painters also left stuff-ladder, compound, tools-which were clogging our hall for 2 1/2 months. The good news is that the paint job is actually great. But man, what a hassle. it seems like a classic case of a company that was great when it was small, and then grew to the point where they're subcontracting the work-so the painters are not as professional, and added layers of bad managers, who don't feel ownership. Never using them again.

They were great. System to set up an appointment easy. Follow up was good. It may have been miscommunication on my end, but it took a little longer than I expected. Again, I was in the middle of moving and dealing with a number of other things, but I expected it done a day earlier than it was. I only bring it up because list members should be clear about timeline expectations because that would be the only thing I saw as a potential issue. Otherwise they were reasonably priced relative to several other estimates, easy to work with, friendly and most importantly did a good job.

Precision Painting Plus of NYC did a beautiful job. I had not realized how much repair work was needed on my walls until I removed the pictures,etc., from the walls. They repaired cracks, holes, nail holes and painted two coats of Benjamin Moore paint on all surfaces including the ceiling. Originally, I contracted for 40 hrs for 1 painter for $1,750. It actually took five men four days to complete given the repairs. What also took time was the molding, bannister and the ceilings. Eddie's crew were great (the company employs over 100 painters); they were polite, on time, hard working and always asked questions to make sure they were doing what I wanted. The walls looked so amazing when finished that I rehung only half of what had previously been on the walls. For an extra cost, they completed the shoe molding (quarter round) which I had started and did an excellent job.

This would be our second time using the company and sadly would be our last. We were truly surprised as our first experience was wonderful and all of the issues listed below were the exact opposite. Without going into full detail I shall share the challenges for this job which prevented us from having as good experience as our first. 1. Poor communication 2. Lack of clarity for full scope of job 3. Incomplete and poor attention to details 4. Workers promised to complete job the next day and never showed up (Note: They did so without management knowledge) Alex did attempt to find the source of the problem but because of long lapses in time for communication and the looming reality of school starting for our three children, We could no longer wait on the company to figure out how they would fix the situation. Therefore I am torn in my review as I am not sure if the job went this way because of 1. Lack of project management 2. Poor employee standards 3.The idea that this job was not significant enough to give it full attention Either way I gladly share this experience with the Angie's list community as your experience has the potential to be different than mine own.

Took advantage of the painter for the day deal. Glad I did. They did s great job. Highly recommend.

I hired Precision as they were able to start the work right away. My wife and I had just purchased the house and had a tight deadline for renovation. Matt and Evan were the project managers and both were professional and easy to work with. Nelson and his crew were the ones that did the work. They did all the wallpaper removal, wall prep, and skim coating. My wife and I then painted each room as the finished. We also had them paint our very large kitchen. Nelson and his crew were really great and even gave my wife and I some tips as we were working.

It went great. The result was excellent. They were reliable, and importantly, flexible in terms of jobs to be done, and changes. All around good experience. I recently called them again for more work but as yet they do not come to New Jersey. I am sad about that!

The experience was a very positive one. Ken and his team were thorough and responsive and a pleasure to work with. We had a fairly simple job of painting the downstairs of our home one color and the upstairs bedrooms another color. The added element was repairing a few holes in the walls and ceilings where electrical work had been done, as well as some damage behind old radiators. All of the repairs look quite flawless, and the paint itself looks very nice and clean. We also had our floors refinished. They look very nice and we've even received some compliments on their appearance from visitors.

They were courteous, very professional, and worked within a good timeframe. I found the price to be very reasonable.

the painter they sent was great. Scheduling the job was NOT EZ. Too many phone calls ... and then after a date was already set I was called the day before to tell me they had to reschedule ! The painter Jesse was great. But I probably wouldn't use this company again because of the scheduling bulls#it !

They did an excellent job. They had nice personalities and were great people. They cleaned up after and just did a really good job.

After searching through a number of providers on Angie's List and Yelp, we decided to go with Ken and Precision Painting to make our new apartment look like home. The previous owners had neglected painting for quite a while. Ken came by our place for an estimate on a Saturday, and generally provided the information we needed. He answered e-mails with additional questions so that we would feel comfortable with the services. He provided the COI to our management company as promised in a timely manner. We got one other quote from Angie's List that was maybe 100-200 cheaper than with PPP, but the job would have taken 4-5 days with a smaller team of people. Ken promised 2 days of work, and he absolutely delivered. The painters were on-time on day one, ready to work right away. The head painter - Freddy - expertly patched all cracks in the walls (including a very large one on an exterior wall, which is unnoticeable), and the painters got to work. They were professional, and dealt with me being in the apartment (and our cat) without a problem. They made sure to not touch one of the bedrooms the first day so that I would have a work-space. The painting was done very well, and all of our instructions were followed. Our 2nd/Bedroom office looks beautiful with Heather Blue and Super White trim, as does the Bedroom with Constellation and Super White. The rest of the apartment was painted with Dove Wing. The team had all the equipment required; they took off all of the window trimmings (shades) to paint, and perfectly reattached them. The only thing I would say as a negative is that although they cleaned up after themselves well, there was some dust/dusty footprints that I wish they had spent more time cleaning off the wood floors so that I didn't have to do it, but it was nothing to fret over. The first day there were four painters, and the 2nd day there were three. They were finished by 1pm on day 2, which allowed us to get back to our daily lives much quicker. Definitely give Ken a call!

It will eliminate the risk of the paint not being delivered on time. The paint did not arrive until 11am, which forced the painting crew to leave the job site at 11am when the paint did arrive instead of staying on site to paint on the first day. The next day the head painter told me he had his paint crew leave because he had to pay his painters a fixed amount each day and didn't want to pay them for less than a full day of work; which was an issue for him because he was only paid a fixed fee from Precision Painting Plus, regardless of how many days the job took him and his crew to finish the job. The painters finished the painting within a week. They came back twice to fix imperfections. There are still a few imperfections of gunky/built up paint left that were not fixed after the two follow-up visits. The people doing the painting were nice.

I don'the want to bad mouth anyone. Alex was very respectful every time we spoke. I bought the deal in April, but with other problems I had with this house and being a teacher and my husband's work schedule, I wanted to wait for summer vacation. It was stated we needed a Saturday. We scheduled this Saturday over a week ago, no one showed. We called and the painter thought the job was monday, nope! So then we were told what about Thursday or Friday? What ever happened to Monday? ? So we asked about next Saturday, their reply was you need a week in advance...isn't this a week? So I requested a refund. I'm really losing hope in any of Angies List providers...nothing but mediocre experiences! After my refund, I'm cancelling my account!

They were good but I had an issue. The work turned out fantastic but they did not have enough people so it took longer than the requested time but the quality of work was good. It was the best paint job I had ever seen. The price depended on the size of the room. They did show up when they said they were going to.
