About us

Portell Architecture is led by Paul D. Portell, AIA, a residential and commercial architect with over fifteen years of experience in the New York area. Prior to founding Portell Architecture PLLC, Paul led teams of architects and designers at several other top award winning architectural firms. Paul D. Portell, AIA is a registered architect in New York State, New Jersey, and Connecticut. He is a member of the National and New York City chapters of the American Institute of Architects, and is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Architectural design, interior design, programming, site and zoning analysis, project administration, bidding and contract negotiation, applications and approvals, apartment renovations, alterations and additions, historic preservation, commercial renovations, new construction, coop and condo reviews.

The service was great. He was very easy to work with, and very reasonably priced. His ideas were very innovative, and he had a lot of them. He was also great at helping us understand our various options. I appreciated how he spent a lot of time working with us, and considering what he did it was a tremendous bargain.
