It went well from start to finish. They scheduled my appointment quickly. They arrived close to on time. Two electricians came for the job which made it much more efficient. They were competent and appropriately friendly and helpful. I would use this company again. Update: There was a problem after the installation, and it took them months to repair the issue.

I asked for an estimate for track lighting and made it clear that I was not sure whether or not my wiring could support the wattage of track lighting and I wanted them to let me know this as part of the estimate. When I finally got the estimate from them (after calling when it was 2 days beyond the date I had expected it) they made no mention of whether or not my wiring could support the lighting, and when I asked about that I was told that a technician would have to come out at $145/hour and they wouldn't tell me how many hours it would take. Also, their price was higher than the $1100 quote I received elsewhere. I have contacted another company who is coming tomorrow to do an estimate and at the same time tell me if my wiring can support the extra wattage. Estimated cost was $1,375.

Great! When I called they gave me an appointment for the very next day. It was a three-hour window (9 a.m-noon) and they showed up at 10 a.m. Two guys showed up and were very professional. They looked the job over and said they could do it and they did. I had a bare junction box in the dining area and the wiring for it lead to the kitchen switches. They removed the old switches, installed the new ones and now instead of just having an overhead light in the kitchen and one over the sink, I now have those and a dining room fixture. After they were through with the installation, they clean up after themselves. Best of all, they included the Angie's List Discount when they billed me.

Their work was excellent. Ask for Kevin, he as great. He was courteous, efficient and very professional. I would hire him again.

The only bad thing was that he was to follow up on something. He was supposed to order a part for the light in my hallway. He said that he never saw that it was broken and needed to go get the part. Unfortunately, he did not get back to me. I guess it was kind of my fault because I should have followed up on that. You know, I have had so many bad workmen and I really do not want to say that they are bad. For all I know, he tried to call me while I was away. I should call them. I just got overwhelmed. He was a pretty nice guy. He called when he couldn't come, which is all I really ask of somebody. So many people just leave you hanging. I will not hesitate to use them again and would call them first.

TERRIBLE!!! We were on a tight schedule, with my contractors working, cabinets getting installed, etc. Altman canceled the first day (Friday) b/c someone was sick. They didn't show up until late on Monday and didn't finish the job. (Job was supposed to take 1 day.) Tuesday came 2 hours late again. Wednesday they didn't show. Electrician they did send was BEYOND rude. Left garbage and holes ALL OVER kitchen. Work he did complete didn't work (outlets didn't work.) My contractor had to clean up their work. When I called for answers, they NEVER called me back. Their negligence postponed EVERYONE (contractor, cabinets, granite) and EVERYTHING. If you want your job to go smoothly, I urge you to hire ANYONE else.

Once they got there, they did a good, professional job; however, I took the day off from work for them to arrive between noon and 4:00. They never showed up. When I called at 4:15 a very apologetic rep said they would have someone there before noon the following day. My partner stayed home that day, and when they were not there by 10, he called to reconfirm. They had no record of the rescheduling, but they set out immediately to find someone to come and do the job. The worker arrived shortly before 2:00 PM and was finished in 45 minutes.

These people are not professional. You have to check up on the details and appointment times up until the last minute. Paper work falls through the cracks and they do not care. They are very willing to walk away from a job and leave you holding the empty bag. They have made 2 appointments, was very late for one and never showed up for the second. Will NEVER use them again. No regard for your time or appointments.

They are professional, prompt and very thorough. All I had to do was tell them the problem, and they handled everything including writing letters to con ed and scheduling appts to have con Edison come turn on the meters in my apartment building. They are worth the money.

A company representative came right on time, as scheduled, to evaluate the job, and promised an estimate for the work by day's end. It's been a whole week now, and despite several calls to Altman's switchboard, I'm still waiting on the estimate. Unfortunately, I need the work done ASAP, so I'm going to have to call someone else, A wasted week is, in my mind, unacceptable. Apparently, I'm not the only one still waiting for a call-back(according to the operator).

On time, reasonably priced. Quickly done.

I HAD SEEN THIS COMPANY IN OUR BUILDING MANY TIMES. I LIKED USING THEM, BECAUSE THEY DID WHAT WE ASKED AND DID IT PROMPTLY. I THOUGHT THAT THEY ACTED PROFESSIONALLY, AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.

I THOUGHT THIS COMPANY WAS VERY GOOD, AND THEY WERE VERY COURTEOUS. THEY CAME WITHIN TWO HOURS AFTER I CALLED THEM. THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE AND DID GOOD WORK.

WE HAD A MEDIOCRE EXPERIENCE WITH THE COMPANY. THEY WERE VERY COMPETENT IN THE WORK THEY DID. THE ONLY THING I DID NOT LIKE WAS THAT THEY LEFT FINGERPRINTS ALL OVER THE WALLS, AND CHARGED MORE THAN THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD.

THIS COMPANY IS WORTH THE MONEY, THEY ARE DEPENDABLE, TRUSTWORTHY, AND EFFICIENT IN THEIR WORK. THEY ARE A VERY PROFESSIONAL WORKING COMPANY AND MAKE SURE TO DO THE WORK RIGHT.
