Description of Work: Basically, they were O.K. but too expensive. We found someone else who was more reasonable and even better as an electrician. We have used them in the past for simple things and they were fine. The last job that had to do with working with Con Edison around an electrical problem was more problematic. They didn't seem as thoughtful as the other electrician and trying as much to save us money.

Description of Work: I was trying to arrange both my husband's and my own schedule with Altman's for an estimate. We made an appointment with Peter and when the time came he never showed up. After calling peter Mr. Altman and a messaging service. After a few days I received a call back asking to reschedule with out any apology or reference to the missed date. I would not call them again.

I did not have them come out.
Description of Work: I am having a problem with the overhead lights in my apartment (both living room and bathroom). I asked them to have someone come out to take a look and give me an estimate. According to the woman on the phone, they do not do estimates for repair. They will only come out to fix it. I am very reluctant to have a firm that I have never used come out to fix something without an estimate. Perhaps if I had used them before, I might have been willing to let them do this.
