Description of Work: Gave me advice on how to decorate my new apartment. Most needed I ideas on furniture placement and layout ideas.

Description of Work: Hilary Ungar is helping us to redo our entire apartment furnishings, paint, lighting fixtures, window treatments and anything else we need.

Description of Work: We bought a 2-hour service called "Buy My Eye". Basically, in 2 hours, Ms. Unger made recommendations regarding paint colors, floor stains, furniture positioning. She also recommended a few service suppliers for future jobs.

Description of Work: Hilary is very responsive. She is great for a quick on-site consultation. She set us straight with our layout, which was very useful. Ongoing consultation is also great, but this a more expensive service and we did not use that other than one quick item. Great to have the option, though, of tranistioning from the on-site consulation to the ongoing advice.

Description of Work: We contracted for a 4 hour "Bye My Eye" consultation with Hilary Unger. We are renovating a town house in Astoria.

Description of Work: I purchased the "Buy My Eye" consultation for several rooms in my house. Hilary was great - she listens to what you want and has very good ideas/concepts that are easy to carry out and not expensive. She also had specific suggestions for furniture and window treatments as well as other items and recommended several stores. I am now in the process of executing the plan! This is a great service - definitely worth it!

Description of Work: Hilary of Perianth worked with us from start to finish to design and decorate our new apartment. Starting with a detailed interview of our likes and dislikes, Hilary provided us with a sophisticated choice of colors, fabrics, and furnishings, and she worked with us to fine-tune our preferences. As we have very busy lives, we counted on Hilary and her staff to shop for us, staying within our budget, and she even accompanied us to furniture stores to assist in making the final selections. Her firm then arranged to coordinate with all the vendors, have all the furnishings and fixtures delivered and installed, and to have the painting done, floor coverings put down, and beautiful custom cabinetry installed by one of her trusted craftsmen. When she was done we were able to simply come to our new, beautifully decorated, fully furnished apartment and start living there. We absolutely couldn't have done this without Hilary.

Description of Work: Excellent experience. We had a TV room/study that was a very uncomfortable space to be in. HIlary made a number of suggestions - involving little cost (lights, for example) or no cost (moving pieces around) that has transformed the space. We were completely satisfied in all respects.

Description of Work: Provided design consultation for renovating a 2 bedroom apt in the Village by opening up the lower floor into a loft style space. Also provided guidance on paint color choices, and furniture placement.

Description of Work: I sent Hilary an e-mail in advance with photos of our current kitchen and some basic ideas of what I'd be looking for. She arrived promptly, and took notes on absolutely everything I said. Even though I had called her in primarily to discuss plans to do a low-budget renovation of our kitchen, I'd mentioned that I had some other minor items I might want to cover if we had time, and thus she made note of every little thing I pointed out, including items outside the kitchen. When we got to the kitchen, I told her what I thought I wanted to do, and she asked a ton of questions I never even would've thought of. She zeroed in on very specific details and covered every aspect incredibly thoroughly. She drew mockups (which we changed frequently as we continued our discussion), showed me samples of counters, flooring, cabinets, window treatments and paint both from catalogs she had brought with her, and online. She was very flexible when she made a suggestion that wasn't to my liking, and her criticisms were constructive ("that will cost you a lot of money and you wouldn't recoup it on resale" or "that will require this, that & the other thing to be donre so it will greatly increase your cost" or "an excellent way to save money and achieve the look you're looking for would be to do thus-and-such instead")--she never imposed her personal views. She informed me of issues that I need to look for/discuss with a contractor and made many recommendations for products. We then discussed paint colors and window treatments for other rooms, a brief overview of how I generally wanted to decorate our parlor and whether it would work with the character of the rest of our decorating scheme, and general improvements. She frequently asked me if she was doing what I wanted, and was I satisfied, was I comfortable with how we were proceeding. I asked her to rush her report for me, since I had a contractor coming in to bid in a few days. She sent me a set of drawings and an exhaustively thorough report detailing my objectives, options and details of what we discussed, more than sufficient to show my contractor.
