Do you want your toilet bowl cleaner packed with your clean linens? Boxes marked attic left in the basement? The Oz salesman who gave us our moving estimate, Moshe, upsold us on services that were never going to happen we since learned (such as removing wardrobe boxes at the end of the move). Their customer service rep, Allison, made the minimal effort to repair a broken window by contacting a single vendor who happened to be in completely different state. When he was unavailable she left it on us to resolve. David Dosen did absolutely nothing. Avoid this company. Especially in New Jersey, where they are unprepared to service their customers.

Today, Oz Moving company delivered my furniture. We had initially set a virtual walkthrough to get an estimate. Once they came to pack our stuff, they charged us $2,500 more than the estimate, which means you cannot trust their estimate process. While packing, after I bought the crew lunch and was throwing the trash away, I saw they had broken glassware and had not bothered to mention it or to tell us. I had also set aside important documents in a bag and told them not to pack it. This accidentally got packed. The sales person told us delivery would be Oct 27th to Oct 30th. My furniture was delivered on Nov 3rd. When the furniture was delivered, somehow they had misplaced parts of my bed frame. Based on the services provided, they were supposed to breakdown and reassemble furniture but that did not happen with my bed frame. Aside from that, as I have been unpacking things, I have seen that a lot of the boxes had more paper in it than anything else and they had packed trash up. So basically the additional $2,500 was because of inefficient packing and trash on top of the 14k that they quoted. This company is not professional so customers should be aware. Don't make the same mistake I made.

Bait and switch, called police due to fear for my safety, all furniture ruined. I hired Oz to move from NYC to Atlanta based on reputation and Better Business Bureau grading of A+. When I booked, I explicitly asked if they contracted out their moves and was told no. Everything went smoothly on the NYC end of the move. However, the Atlanta end of the move was horrific. My items were delivered by a contracted company with a BBB rating of F. The contracted foreman arrived at my apartment complex and scoped out the unloading location and the apartment. While making small talk he mentioned that this he had been with his company for 1 year and that is the longest job he had ever held. He also told us he drove from NYC in 10 hours (google maps says it should take over 13 hours). I was already concerned about this individual based on comments like these as well as his bizarre affect. He asked if he could go get breakfast, to which I said yes, but then he disappeared for three hours. When I called him to ask him where he was, he became angry with me and started yelling at me. When he returned, he became progressively more volatile and irate as the day went on. He damaged all of my wooden furniture and parts of the building. For example, he was moving the couch down the hallway on a roller with his colleague and rammed the couch into the wall causing the dry wall to fall off. When I confronted him about this damage and other building damage, he admitted to doing it and said that’s why insurance exists. He also told me that movers can get revenge on their customers by destroying all of their stuff. Throughout the day I had been in contact with Oz and updating them. Nearing the end of the move, he threatened me with a box opener blade and told me he “would hate to see someone get hurt.” At this point I called 911 in fear for my safety, which I have never done in my life, because this individual was emotionally unstable. By this time, my family arrived to the apartment and we kicked the mover out of the building. We moved the mattress from the loading dock and the couch from the hallway ourselves since the move was not finished. I refused to stay in the apartment that night because I was afraid that this man might return and retaliate since he knew my address. On Monday, I began conversations with Nancy at Oz. She was extremely unpleasant to interact with and never once apologized for my experience, she was a bully. She told me that she was not there, so she was unable to tell what happened and it was my word against the foreman’s. She sided with the foreman even though I am a physician with no past records of misconduct. I showed her numerous other reviews that I found online about the foreman’s behavior, including some other individuals who had also called 911 on him due to frightening interactions with him. She offered $500 to make the situation end, which we declined and decided to get our credit card company involved. Fortunately, some of the damages were covered by the private moving insurance that we previously purchased. I am appalled not only by what happened on our move day but also the company’s response. Oz is a company that lies to its customers and then puts its customers in danger. They contract with sketchy, unscrupulous companies who hire emotionally/mentally unstable employees in order to save themselves money. They clearly do not care about their customers or take responsibility for their actions. Please choose any other moving company and save yourself the nightmare that I experienced.

Terrible experience with Oz - very surprised since they came highly recommended and was a premium price. Paid for them to pack up my kitchen and fragiles and then transfer them to a personal truck I had rented. On top of a bad pack job, which is detailed below, I also had a pretty crappy experience with their customer service rep and GM - Alison and Nancy. In their defense they will say that they were upset that the truck wasn't big enough to pack in all of our stuff. BUT, I was pretty flexible in leaving furniture behind - a pullout sofa, high table and TV stand. I don't think this justifies packing things up incorrectly to create damage to the items. I have a attached a number of photos so you can see 1) the damages and 2) how things were packed up Damages - An antique chest was not wrapped up in the bubble wrap and was placed on top of another wooden chest - you can clearly see what happened - The AC was not put in a proper place so the vent got dented - You can see a medal rod sticking into a a wrapped bed frame, this created quite a scratch in the frame Packing Issues - The crew on the other side rightly pointed out that a number of heavy boxes were put on light ones - Items that could pierce through boxes were packed in bad areas that damages boxes and could have broken items (we have no unpacked all the boxes yet so I'm worried that items are broken) Items needed now - When the crew arrived, we specifically asked them NOT to pack up a number of bags because we needed those items over the next 2 months. They said they would put them in boxes clearly labeled Open First, but about 8 pairs of my shoes and some other clothes were nowhere to found when unpacking. We had to rummage through ALL boxes after we unloaded and packed everything away - so an extra hr of work for the other crew. We did find some of my wife's stuff, but we never found my shoes as they are probably at the bottom of a box that was NOT labeled Open First. I now have 3 pairs of shoes for 2-months - or I will have to go back to the storage unit and pull everything out to try and find the box with them in it. I also ended up paying over $100 for more boxes and packing materials that I wasn't aware of.

I initially spoke with Jack, the salesman, on the phone and told him the pieces that I needed moved. Jack told me it sounded like a 3 hour job and gave me an estimate of $438. During the initial call Jack told me that they would send out 3 men with a truck. I asked why my project needed that many men and a truck if they were only moving furniture inside my home. Jack just told me it was standard procedure. The 3 man crew came out on Monday, 10/23/17, to move my furniture. After they were finished I was presented with the bill. The bill was higher than the estimate coming in at $463, due to a toll being added and the 3 hour minimum. I was never notified that there was going to be a toll fee or that there was a 3 hour minimum. They were finished moving the furniture within 1 1/2 hours and told me that they had to go to another job. If there was a 3 hour minimum then the workers should have stayed for 3 hours as I had several other pieces I needed moved. As it was they were in such a hurry and kept telling me they had to go to the next job I couldn't ask them to finish the rest of the 3 hours. I immediately reached out to Oz Moving after the workers left about the extra fees. The customer service representative I spoke with was able to waive the $15 toll fee. However, he wasn't able to waive anything on the time I paid for that the workers weren't there. I was supposed to receive a call from a higher up customer service representative but so far I haven't heard anything back. I didn't have any problems with the workers, they did a good job. I have a problem with the company and the salesman because they didn't fully disclose their fees which I found dishonest.

On n 8/1/17 we moved from Manhattan to Parlin New Jersey. I was so nervous, I had heard so many horror stories from my family and friends. However, I booked my move with John Kohn who did a walk through our apartment and the estimated was extremely reasonable. The guys that did the move were extremely professional, polite and just awesome!! I will be recommending this moving company to everyone I know who want to move and is looking for a great moving company. John you and your guys ROCK.... Thank you so much for a very pleasant moving experience. Carol & Jerome

DO NOT HIRE. Worst movers ever. They stole money (from my childrens' piggy banks), stole items (2 bottles of champagne left in fridge to celebrate after move and a designer handbag). They broke or chipped 2 Baccarat vases, an antique vase, a painting, half the dishes in my dinner service, damaged a painting, lamps, left a huge scratch on the wood on the kids bunk bed and more. And damaged too many other things to list. They left items behind - including shelves and a painting on the wall!? If that weren't enough, they literally broke the front door off the hinges. Can only assume they forgot to remove the wedge they'd placed there and then wrenched it closed and broke the hinges right off. They brought a truck that was too small to fit everything and then took so long packing that they almost weren't allowed in the new building as they'd exceeded the time allowed for the use of the service elevator - I had to beg the new super. Truly a worst case experience.

My moving experience with Oz moving and Storage was similar to the tornado scene in the Wizard of Oz- our furniture and belongs destroyed by the destructive service of its employees. Oz contracted out the delivery portion of our move, giving them little if any ability to control the quality of service. Here is the list of damage left in the wake of the Oz Tornado of destruction: Every couch and sofa was badly scratched on the arms- movers clearly didn't take the time to try to carefully move the couches through entrance ways- every entrance way was scratched as well. A year old Kitchen table now looks like Someone hit it with a crowbar. In addition, Oz misplaced the screws to the table- so they failed to reassemble the table upon delivery. Antique dresser was cracked and wood broken off the top. They also Lost the screws to our Futon and failed to reassemble it upon delivery. Our coffee table had a entire corner broken off. Bins and boxes were stacked inside the truck without regard to being marked fragile. Fragile items were placed on the bottom- under furniture and heavier boxes. Rubber made roughneck bins were badly crushed. Due to the above, glasses, dishes and other items were completely shattered upon opening boxes. Art work was transported without regard to the orientation of the mirror boxes- even though the boxes were clearly labeled "this side up." In there promotional materials Oz states " we strive to protect your treasures, and it shows." If this is the type of protection they offer, I would highly advise using a different moving company. Our treasures have been ruined. Protect your treasures by using a different company. Oalthough the movement s arrived on time, they had to wait 90 minutes for someone at Oz to process the payment

Very well. The movers were on-time and diligent. Booking was easy and was done online and over the phone. The only negative is that the quote was low. (I would imagine that it is hard to do an accurate quote on a move without having the movers do the quote in-person. I ended up having a larger volume of goods to move than they had estimated.)

The move went okay. The carpenter was a day late and the move on the 2nd day took longer which means there were still a few pieces of furniture that did not make it out of the boxes. The cost of the move was substantially higher than what we paid in the past for other moves so we were expecting a high level of service. I think the movers that we had working in the apartment were great. I think they deserve a premium. However, the rest of the outfit was no different that other movers we used in the past.

The move went so smoothly. Al and his team of three guys were great. I moved to NYC ten years ago from Colorado and used Roadway. It was a nightmare. My furniture was trashed, there were things missing. It was a horrible, devastating experience. Going into this move I was very anxious. I set up the move with Brandon in the Oz office. I've learned to ask questions and I was very organized. Brandon was a pro and took great care of me answering all of my questions and also very organized. I packed everything myself. I wrapped the valuable furniture myself and they wrapped those things again with blankets. I didn't take anything for granted and the guys were great with me when I made requests as to how to handle a couple of things with care. Al said he'd worked for Oz for ten years and was proud of working for them. I found the guys to be genuinely kind and good at their jobs. They were about 15 minutes late but called and said they would be. They came in under the estimated time.

Of the three moving companies we received quotes from in Brooklyn, Oz was in the middle in terms of cost. But they base their cost estimate on cubic feet, which means it's a guaranteed cost that won't change. The other two companies based their estimates on weight, and we were concerned that if we went with one of them, our estimated cost could increase after the shipment was weighed in the truck. Oz's movers were meticulous about wrapping and protecting our furniture. Everyone from the initial estimator to their customer service and long-distance reps were super friendly. The only snafu we had was that the affiliated company in Chicago told us we could not pay the balance of the moving cost by credit card after we had already paid half in New York by credit card. An Oz customer service agent ended up informing me that it's a new practice for the company to accept credit card payments and the information had not properly been disseminated to all affiliates. Oz was willing to send us a link to pay by credit card but we didn't know about this option until after we had already gotten a cashier's check from the bank. Overall, the move went really well, and we had excellent moving crews in both Brooklyn and Chicago. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Oz.

CONSUMER ALERT: I recently witnessed something regarding this moving company that I think people who are researching Moving Services, should be aware of before they consider hiring this company. I live in Brooklyn and this large moving van was parked on the street across from my vehicle. Someone was being moved out and of a large building next door. No one, out of a four-man crew, was in the vehicle to guard the property/furniture already in the vehicle AND no one was available to move the vehicle in case of an emergency. The abandoned moving vehicle prohibited emergency vehicles, school buses and passenger cars from getting down the side street which, is used to cross from one avenue to another. As a result, my vehicle was damaged. Their large moving truck was left unattended and other vehicles had to squeeze through a narrow passage, after beeping horns and sitting idle for over 20 minutes. This resulted in several hundred dollars worth of damage to my car and police had to be called. The staff/movers were extremely belligerent, confrontational and aggressive when I asked them about my vehicle. I explained that I witnessed the accident caused by the obstruction and had already contacted their company. They, including the crew chief, did not take responsibility, after having left the vehicle unattended, illegally parked, with property in it, and lied to the police. Finally, ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE AWARE THAT one of these movers was not wearing a uniform and which LEADS TO THE QUESTION as to whether or not he even worked for this company. So, was there a stranger hired AND in someone's house moving their things???? Following the accident and turmoil, I then witnessed the man who was NOT WEARING a uniform, hanging out in the truck eating food off of other people's furniture and smoking cigarettes. If this were my place they were moving, I would be VERY CONCERNED about who had access to my apartment and my property being moved! When I asked him his name he refused to give it to me, along with the rest of the staff. All I wanted was assistance regarding the damage to my car but they refused to give me their names or any information AND we're aggressive. AS A RESULT, I reported this incident twice to the company on this day and I've still have not gotten a call back from both departments contacted. I had the police take a report and mediate the situation. I think the police recognized that this van should have been attended to and that it caused a road hazard preventing thru traffic, including emergency and fire vehicles, from passing through. I own a small vehicle and I cannot imagine what it would have been like if an SUV were parked in that space! Again, they were not moving me/my belongings BUT I feel that anyone considering this company should continue TO SHOP AROUND, as there are a lot more legitimate, safe and professional companies out there to consider. CERTAINLY THANKFUL THEY DIDN'T MOVE MY STUFF RECENTLY! I saw what happened to my car and I would not want them handling my furniture or belongs! CONSUMERS BEWARE!

Excellent. I got quotes from 4 reputable companies and selected Oz. They were the only company that came to my apartment and did an onsite inventory. I was worried that they would have the highest quote and might be unaffordable for me, but they were righ in the ballpark and significantly lower the company that was highly recommended by a friend. The support and sales staff were excellent prior to the move and everything went very smoothly on the day of the move. The foreman and moving crew were all very professional and courteous.
