NIAJAY Cleaning Services

I had used Niajay once before last year, and the service was ok for the price. Today (5/24/19) I had agreed a deep clean of our apartment with two cleaners to arrive at 10am for a fixed price. Not only didn't they arrive until 10:45 but only ONE cleaner showed up. Furthermore, the "deep clean" wasn't even acceptable as a weekly clean (see pictures below). The worst part is the cleaner who did show up didn't have the authority to reduce the price (since I only got ONE cleaner not two). When I tried to call the number he gave me, nobody answered the first time, the second time it only rang once before they hit the "don't answer" button. They also haven't replied to any emails I've sent them. I would NEVER use Niajay again and would strongly recommend you think twice before using them! I'm not overly radical about the cleanliness level, but looking at the pictures below I don't think anybody would find that acceptable after you just paid for a cleaning service! And these weren't even "hard to get at areas" - it was the kitchen sink, the front of the microwave, the sink nozzel and entry to the bathroom!

The work was well done, after the young man finished cleaning both carpets, the odor was removed, and they actually looked fluffy again, as they should’ve. The young man was very professional.

one woman (Joy) had the apartment sparkling in under 5 hours. Will definitely request her again.

We had some difficulties getting going ... owing to a family emergency the crew wasn't able to show up on the day scheduled. The manager offered to have them ome the next day for a 50% reduction in price which was not only generous, but more than compensated for the one-day delay. The crew was several hours late the next day as well, citing traffic and parking issues. New York City - gonna happen. To the extent that the 2-person crew knows their stuff, does good work and were very nice people, they left lots un-done: treated the floor of the bathroom but merely damp mopped and failed to clean register, baseboards & corners; missed an entire section of the floor, missed a drawer and two cupboards in the kitchen. I don't know if they were under pressure to leave at a certain time so didn't do as thorough a job everywhere as they'd otherwise done elsewhere? This was a tough clean after two years of neglect, lots of grime ... they did a great job in the places they attended to but it was disappointing to close a door and find an entire section of the bathroom overlooked, likewise under the sink, etc.
