 + 0 moreI have been collecting and buying antique rugs for many years. Nazmiyal has the fairest, most knowledgeable sales force I've ever worked with. It's no wonder that Nazmiyal is the jealously guarded secret of so many prominent designers and collectors. I recently bought two large Kermans (they are both about 100 years old) and plan on buying some additional rugs soon. Nazmiyal's founder does a truly outstanding job of selecting beautiful, unusual antique rugs and textiles from around the world and everything is of outstanding quality. The sales force is unfailingly honest and will even show you if a rug has been modified in some way and will explain how certain changes can affect pricing and value. They are incredibly fair on pricing. They are also terrific on delivery. The rug will have been lovingly handwashed and prepared for installation in your home and will be delivered when promised. The showroom is routinely occupied by prominent designers searching for the perfect rugs for their clients and international collectors. They have truly special rugs and many are in a very affordable price range. Omri and Alen both helped me tremendously in selecting the rugs I chose and did it with unfailing patience and grace. The entire staff is very knowledgeable about virtually every period, region, and weave pattern, and they do expert restoration as well. (I just sent 3 of my rugs to be washed, and for one to be repaired -- another outstanding job -- unlike most rug cleaners, Nazmiyal washes them by hand, the correct way). They will be the first place I look for any of my rug and textile needs from now on. Their inventory is constantly changing and they have wonderful pieces of extraordinary quality and design. Omri recently called me when they got in a very special rug that he knew that I'd love (I am definitely thinking about buying it). Nazmiyal is a gem of a place. It is located in New York city at 31 West 32nd Street on the 2nd floor (sign in with security) and you can also buy from them on the web at Nazmiyalantiquerugs.com.
Description of Work: I purchased 2 antique Kerman rugs from them, one of which required some repair work (which was expertly done). I had them wash 3 of my antique persian rugs and do one small repair.(excellent work).
