Melange Restoration Inc.

We hired Melange Restoration in the fall of 2017 to fix two small leaks in our skylight. What should have been an easy matter of caulking turned into a difficult and frustrating negotiation that has lasted for months. The first time Shahid came to check out the leak - and every subsequent time - we have pointed out exactly the locations and nature of our issue. Each time he promised that it was an easy fix that his team would solve, no problem. Despite it being an 'easy fix,' Shahid charged us $6,000 - a wildly inflated fee. He and his team came twice to fix the leak (though both times he didn't show for our original appointment, and forced us to reschedule after the fact for weeks later). Neither repair effort was successful, possibly because his team did not do any actual repairs where they were needed. After calling him back - again - to figure out what was happening, he revealed that his team had put 'light' caulking on areas of the skylight that were NOT leaking. When we questioned why he disregarded our numerous explanations of the location/type of leaks we were experiencing, even after we had looked at the areas of the skylight that were affected and pointed out obvious and visible cracks, he became defensive. Now he has promised to come back and fix the leaks a third time, but only after we can prove the leak is just where we have already told him (and shown in numerous pictures) it is. Our experience with Melange Restoration has been incredibly unprofessional. We were radically overcharged for services that were ostensibly never done. We would not recommend Melange Restoration to anyone.
