The workers did the job with precision. I inspected the work and from what I could see it appears like a good job. The workers were efficient, respectful, helpful and they cleaned up afterward.

THEY HAVE BEEN KNOWLEDGEABLE, PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL AND THEY GUARANTEE THEIR WORK. IF I HAD A PROBLEM THEY CAME IN A REASONABLE TIME. THEY MAY BE A LITTLE HIGH BUT YOU PAY FOR QUALITY.

He wanted to get to work right away which was attractive, but also worried us because the roof was still inundated and we though the work would get done more effectively with a dry roof. So we waited for the snow to melt and the heat to dry everything.

I bought?the special offer from Angie's list to inspect?the roof for $99 because I had a trace of leak into?bedroom wall adjacent to chimney. The McGavin Roofing came on time and inspected the roof and found that there was a leak: water was coming out from underneath of the shingle roof when they?stepped on?the area behind the chimney. I agreed to?pay $1100 for them to repair the leak. I fully trusted them because of their?promise for professional job?and their long experience in?business as per its?advertisement. They promised to provide me with the picture of their job, but never did. Few months later I again saw the wall?still gets damp. I?thought, it?should be coming from?other than the roof.?I called chimney guys and changed the linear for?$1500 in June 2015. In a few months I?again saw the water trace on the wall?and this time I changed the front face of the house and wood trims (english tudor house) and repaired walls of the chimney this November?(last week) for $6200; they also repaired the wall of the bedroom where water was leaking. This contractor discovered that?the leak was coming from the same area of the roof which McGavin roofing assured they fixed. When he pressed on the shingle roof the water was coming out; he provided me with video and picture as a proof.?I called?yesterday McGavin?Roofing to complain and requested them?to fix?it.?They sent?their workers?this morning. Unfortunately, the?workers came with the?instruction only to patch the same way they did last time; and they were not in position to discuss to consult. I showed them the picture and video taken by the contractor who repaired the chimney and front face of the house. They did not pay attention and insisted that they were requested to patch, nothing else. I did not accept this kind of easy and quick fix because such fix did not work in the first place. The owner called me to tell me?that ?that was the only way they will do?because they?were very busy with?many other ?important projects. Unfortunately, he showed no interest in listening my plea to repair the root cause. He left me in a very difficult situation. The workers he sent did not have any flexibility and interest to discuss how to better fix it and and in addition their English was very limited. They referred everything to the owner who did not see the roof and insisted they have to add additional patch which did not work.

It took a number of calls to get him to come look at a leak in the chimney area. He looks and tells me I need a new roof. He casually mentions I could do a patch job but really focused on selling me a new roof. I got another opinion from a different roofer today who actually found the issue with the leak (the chimney itself was in bad shape) and he fixed that and patched up the roof and fixed the gutters to maintain me until we're ready for a new roof. He agreed with my initial inspector that we didn't need a roof right away. McGavin was only focused on selling me an expensive roof replacement he actually overlooked other issues like the chimney and gutters that were problematic .

I was very satisfied. Whatever they did, I was satisfied because I haven't been bothered by squirrels again. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. They were working on a case and they came to me next. They were prompt and accurate. I don't know how they did it. I know they couldn't block the chimney but they did something to it. Whatever was done, it did the job.

Aside from there being nothing accomplished and no minor repairs done, the salesman was nice. But I don't think he knew the first thing about roof repair. I eventually identified the source of our leak (a small hole in flashing around an exhaust pipe) and repaired it myself for under $10.

They told me they do not service my area.

This is the second time we used McGavin Roofing. The first time they resurfaced our main roof and fixed a downspout. We were happy with his work the first time and called him back when our patio leaked after the heavy ice of the winter began to thaw. John and his crew came quickly, and worked efficiently and cleanly. We would use this company again.

Purchased 150.00 for 300.00 roofing. The area around the skylight was leaking. Provider, responded immediately and checked out he problem. He was courteous and professional. Took pictures and showed where ,previous repair was completed incorrectly. He sealed the area and indicated that I should be able to get a couple of years more out of the roof. The area is no longer leaking. No pressure to do an immediate roof repair. The contractor was highly knowledgeable and I have confidence in his ability and suggestions. When and if I do a complete roof repair, He will be the guy I call. I would highly recommend to a friend or family member.

SBS Rubber roof was installed and new aluminum trim was done to the front of the house as well as sealing , flashing and vents was included as part of the repair. This was done the same day the estimate was done, I am sure I could it have searched more and get a better price but Mr. McGavin was very honest and I had them performed the work the same day. The only issue I have is that the proposal / contract I paid and signed does not provide the guaranty of the work. I contacted Mr. McGavin and gave him a copy of the contract that we both signed but have not heard from him. I am sure he has a heavy schedule but a notice in writing about the guaranty is greatly appreciated. Mr. McGavin's workers were very professional and they left the driveway and the front of my house very clean since they had their supplies and machines needed in that area. I will recommend them, just send me a copy of the service performed(roof)guaranty.

Initial inspection went well. They repaired leak around vent pipe and recommended a protective coating for roof for additional $500.00 which I passed on for the moment since there was no urgency. Was told my roof was in good condition. About 2 months later, noted leak in a different part of the home. Called company they promptly came to my home and worked on roof . V/m was left but with no message. Several weeks leak reappeared. Contacted company who indicated that repairs that were needed were not covered by initial inspection and that I was told upon initial inspection that more detailed roof repair was needed. Really!!!. That was the first time I heard of such a thing . I informed them that I understood that any work required would not be covered by inspection and that on there second inspection I anticipated to hear from them with cost of work that was needed. I even left a blank check with family member at the home at the time to cover the cost. This company rates poorly regarding communication and professionalism for Such an important service. Follow up with a different roofing company revealed leak around vent pipe was addressed with tar and vent system on top of roof and vent pipe needs to be addressed with installation of ice and water shields and membranes. Removal, replacements, and reapplication of shingles are necessary.

The McGavin company was honest and straight forward about the issue we had with the roof. While this is a decision that is out of my hands, I would not hesitate a moment in the future about calling them to repair the issue, or place a roof on any home I owned. Thank you kindly.

Mr. McGavin is a pleasure to work with. He responds to calls and comes within a day or two. He and his workers are punctual and very polite. His men cleaned up leaving my property cleaner than before they came! He is meticulous about his work. He replaced my roof with shingles. There is a 30 year guarantee on the material and 20 years on his work. In addition to replacing my roof, he repaired my gutters and corked a leaking window without charging me an additional fee. I would definitely recommend McGavin Roofing without any hesitation. [Member name removed]

I scheduled an appointment with McGavin roofing for roof work. He did not show or call. When I called to inquire, owner McGavin indicated he had experienced some family problems. We re-scheduled for the morning after Thanksgiving so I canceled my normal holiday plans to remain home. I waited most of the day; however, he never showed or called. To date, I have not heard back from this company although they agreed to honor my purchase from Angie's list. While I understand that people have personal issues, if the issues will interfere with scheduled appointments, a courtesy call is warranted.

Amazing. They came, they saw, they conquered and went home in one day. they were very attentive, professional and fast. John was great and the guys he brought were excellent too.

Angie's List states the provider will contact me within 2 days. This never happened. The provider posted a message on Angie's website asking for my phone number - although it was already posted on the website. Nevertheless, I put in my phone number 2 more times. Again, no answer, no scheduling since Oct 23. I now do not want service from this apparently very unreliable provider. Please refund the $ 99 I paid you! Thank you

Hello, I am requesting a refund on my purchase of a deal titled "$99 for a Flat Roof Inspection and Maintenance" by McGavin Roofing. The experience was unprofessional and the gentleman who looked at my roof did no maintenance. First, when setting up the appointment, he made me responsible for sending him a reminder a few days before the appointment. When he arrived, he asked if I had a ladder he could use to get up on the roof. When we got up on the roof, within the first 5 seconds he said I needed an entire new roof without even looking at the whole thing. He then pointed out a few places where I had some joints cracking and then quoted me an estimate to do the whole roof. There was no thorough inspection and he did absolutely no work to the cracks that he pointed out. He essentially came out and gave me an estimate, which shouldn't cost anything. I am deeply disappointed with this deal and seriously doubt I will entertain any further deals if this is how they go.

Very quick, pointed out that we needed aluminum asphalt over existing asphalt/sand roofing and provided quote for such services.

Came on time - surveyed the roof and gave us an estimate on amount of life still left. Did not push us into repairs, but gave an honest assessment.

They don't do the type of roofing work that I need. I have been having difficulty finding a good roofer for that. I will have to keep looking.

The actual job was done well even though I felt we agreed to the bigger job on an impulse!
