Kevin Klepper showed up on time for the initial interview, along with a "cousin who's also part of the family business" (and who turned out not to be related to Kevin at all), and was in touch occasionally between that appointment and our closing on the house. None of his references ever answered the phone or returned my calls, but his "cousin's" references were good, so I continued with them. Stupidly gave Kevin $7000 to special order fixtures for a handicapped accessible bathroom. On the day work was to begin, Kevin did not show, and did not respond to repeated messages. When he finally called, he claimed he was sick, said he wouldn't be able to do the job (but that his "cousin" could handle it), admitted that he never ordered any fixtures, and arranged for his "cousin" to meet him in NYC to pick up the $7000. He didn't show up for that meeting, and neither I nor his "cousin" (who did the sizable remodeling/addition job for me) ever heard from him again. He slithered away with $7000 of my elderly mother's money (bathroom was for her use). I did everything from contacting an attorney to filing a report with the NYS Attorney General's Office. No one was interested in pursuing this theft legally. So he got away with it. I have joined Angie's List primarily so that I could warn others about this amoral weasel.

My phone calls go directly to cellphone and answer every call,or when somebody leaves a message I call them by close of business myself personally...This person never called me and left any message,or they called all the contractors on Angieslist and got confused and thought they called me,it happens all the time.

I enjoyed meeting Kevin from the start. He spent a great deal of time with me discussing my needs, and he was very forthcoming with advice on how he thought things should proceed. He also seemed be a conscientious person, and my impression was that he is a hard working general contractor. I didn't hire Kevin as his price was out of my range. I was also concerned as, based on his current schedule, he could not commit to a project start date. I will contact him in the future for other projects in my apartment.

Move on to someone else who wants your business. I'm guessing with these guys business is great and I would rather work with someone who really wants my business and loyalty. **************************************************UPDATE********************************************************************* This contractor is a liar through and through. I did not say half the stuff he purported me to say below. I suggest you beware of his slick, smooth talking ways or look for someone more reputable for your building needs. ********************************************************************************************
Description of Work: I was interested in having him fix my bathtub but he said A) He doesn't fix another contractor's mistakes and B) we would have to start over with the whole bathroom. So he never performed anything for us.

A simple phone conversation and explaining to the member that we don't fix bad contractor remodels simply upset him..When I asked why he didn't call me from start since he was an Angieslist member for years,he wouldn't answer me except for to start screaming and carrying on imaturely. He was complaining tub was put in wrong, tiles were off center, sink doesn't work right, shower has no pressure etc...I guess thats the kind of contracting and contractor he needs, not professionals that do bathrooms for $30,000.00 but some inexperienced low balling contractor that gave him what he paid for,,,

On all projects he kept exactly to his projected schedule and estimated price and was pleasant throughout. He was in close contact with us and always responded to us quickly. He remained patient and helpful with the difficult building management people and worked well with them. We were very satisfied with all the projects and he returned quickly for minor touch-ups and repairs after the jobs were completed. We look forward to working with Mr. Klepper again.

At the beginning of the project we had considerable difficulty in getting approval from the managing agent for the renovation we planned. We were misinformed and stonewalled for some time. Kevin showed great patience getting the the final approval which entailed numerous phone calls and emails and finally a confrontation with the building manager. The project was especially difficult because a family member has multiple chemical sensitivities. Kevin dealt with the complications with patience, including dealing with a slow and unresponsive kitchen cabinet designer. Aside from the difficulties presented by outside suppliers which were ofter signicant, the project went well.
Description of Work: Complete renovation of a two bedroom, two bath, dining room coop apartment. All walls were skim plastered and painted with low VOC paint. Crown moldings were installed. Old floors in the bedrooms were ripped out and replaced with parqe flooring and old floors sanded to blend with new floors. Bathrooms were tiled including walls and floors and new sinks and toilets installed. Bathtub enclosures were also installed. The old kitchen was demolished and redesigned. New cabinets were installed. Refrigerator, wall oven and cooktop, and dishwasher were installed. The floors were tiled and the ceiling painted. A new closet was created in the foyer. In all the closets all the shelving was ripped out and replaced with white pine finished in natural wood. Brass poles where installed. New closet doors were installed. All wiring was modernized and tailored to the new configuration. New lighting fixtures were installed.

The member and I met 3 years ago at Starbucks ,when Angie Hick came to NYC when she first started Angieslist here, and held a coffee break..He at that time told Angie he was hiring me without me knowing,I only spoke to him once on phone and had been back and fourth with e-mails. The member had also gave me a considerably large deposit to assure when the apt came I would make the time When he finally found the right apartment he called me and we met. The apt neeed a total rehab from top to bottom. The member informed he was getting married and nobody in contracting would be able to please his wife's taste and medical concerns but I assured him I would be able to and not to worry. Starting the process with paperwork and approvals was an absolute nightmare. Between the management company ,board approvals ,NYC buildings dept, and licenses and insurances it became another full time job with them. We got the green light, and The member had everything picked out 3 years previous for entire apt and had all the websites and info readily available to start everything. The major problems started with knocking down solid concrete walls in kitchen area and bathrooms, and everything being rotted from cement, all the wire lathe had to be replaced as well as all new plumbing and electric. Everything was brought up to code with inspections. All the closets were gutted out,and all new wood flooring in bedrooms to match the L/R D/R Foyer areas, parquet and sealed with latex 8 coats,as not to create an allergic reaction to the member's wife's allergies and reactions to most chemicals. All the walls & ceilings were grinded down, and plastered welded to accomadate all new skimcoat plastering,13 layers to be exact to take all inperfections out throughout apt including closets. Sanding between layers for finest smoothness, and cleaning up daily, became a major role in project,as not to have dust laying around for the member's allergies to flare up upon inspections. Next was all crown moldings were put up throughout apt except for kitchen and bathrooms, and all new base moldings and all new doors and custom made closet doors 10' high, and all custom made shelving chemical free and basic pine clear coated for shelves throughout. Brass polls were placed for hanging that gives a real sleek very elegant vision of closets, not like competive closets everyone else has. The bathrooms were done in matching 18x24 gorgeous marble imported, and the tubs reglazed for classy old style deeper and less complicated with bldgs procedures in ripping someones ceiling out in apt below, the member's didn't want to inconvenience anyone. Kohler pedastal sinks and kohler toilets as well as clear shower doors by Kohler were installed and all grouted white. The kitchen is the best part of the renovation, the cabinets were picked out 3 years previous and ordered 4 months in advance, custom made and chemical free and extremely high end as well as appliances and porcelin 24x24 floor tiles Thank you very much for allowing me and my men to do such a wondeful apt and to make you both very happy. Cabinets were $31,406.08,Granite $13,042.30 and appliances around $17,902.07,and the total for this project came in at $265,789.44

There were many delays due to the co-op boards requirements, which was frustrating, but not Kevin's fault. Once the work was started, he or his men came when they said they would & worked very hard to finish the job quickly. The finished combination looks much better than I had hoped.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! This person/company (can't even tell) is incredibly disorganized and unprofessional! When I first called to schedule an appointment I spoke with some guy (Kevin?) who rudely told me he was driving and would call me back. Instead, some woman called me back on his behalf and said we set up an appointment for some guy named Lewis to come to my apartment. An hour after our appointment time, however, Lewis hadn't showed up so I called the number the 'secretary' had given me, and Lewis picked up and said he couldn't make it because of an emergency at some building where the pipes broke (thanks for calling to cancel!). So we rescheduled for the next day. And he didn't show up again! Instead, some other woman called me 10 minutes before the appointment to say that there was another emergency and Lewis can't make it again and it is "indefinite" as to when he will be able to.

I am a licensed plumber and have a small plumbing company in Brooklyn. I was contacted by Kevin Klepper to install a water filter at the client’s home. While keeping appointments is very important to me and my business, in this case, I was unfortunately unable to do so. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience we caused the client, but please understand that the fault lies with me, the plumber, and not with Mr. Klepper. On the day of our scheduled appointment, I was called to an emergency in which the gas for an entire building had been shut down. Although it was short notice, my office called the client and left a message letting them know that I would not be able to make it, and would it be convenient to reschedule for the next day. The following day, I had to renew my license at the NYC Building Dept and was delayed more than three hours. My office called the client again and left a message telling them about my delay and that we would like to reschedule with them. The client called back, understandably upset about having another cancellation. We explained the situation and said that we understood if they would like to contact another plumber who might be able to do the job right away. At this point, I felt terrible that the customer was upset and that I hadn’t been able to complete the job for them. After the complaint was posted on Angie’s List, my office contacted the client to apologize and offer to mend the situation, but during the conversation the connection was lost. We called back immediately and received no answer, but left a message repeating the apology and offering to perform the service at half price or at no charge. We never heard back from the client. Again, I would like to apologize for the entire situation and would still be willing to work with the client to make this right.

Throughout the period of work, the A1 Home Improver manager repeatedly argued about actually conducting many of the items that were included in a written contract that was mutually agreed upon. Nearly each day A1 raised new objections to respecting the work as detailed in the contract, and often became belligerent, including raising his voice and using profanities. A1's supervision of the workers who were left to actually do the work was also very uneven, with the manager not even showing up on certain days. This resulted in the need to redo work at several points, which led to more emotional outbursts. Although the completed job was ultimately acceptable, the stress of trying to work with the A1 manager during the project was totally unacceptable. I would never consider A1 Home Improver again.

Its alrght,I can take some constructive crititism.First off, things were a little vague in contract,no big deal my job is to take care of it.But this client was virtually impossible from start, and thats ok to because we do more then contract and went above and beyond the call of duty, the problem was the client wanted to be on top of my men and I for the 8 hours and pointing, and when I would go out for materials or lunch, he would grab my men and repeatdely tell them what to do and how to do it,and wanted more coats of paint then the contract read,as well as many other things. When I asked him to please not do that,he said ok,and repeated it again and again telling my men what to do without speaking to me,so I told him off,and then he tells me he has a PHD well thats great, what is that gonna do in this situation. So he repeatdely went against my asking nicely, and then made demands not related or even in contract..He then proceeded to threaten me with holding my money .The job was gorgious, and the place had been lived in for 30 years by him and wife and 28 year old daughter and was a dump, one of the worse apartments I had ever seen on the eastside of Manhattan. The apartment looked like it belonged in South Bronx Housing project, with paint and plaster actually falling in every room all over apt,the bathroom had so much soap scum and mold in tub and on tiles,we couldn't even get it off with Tilex and scrapers. The place was dirty to the point dust mites wouldn't have survived the living conditions. The kitchen appliances were so old and dirty I had to tell my men don't put any of our food or water in the refrigerator or anywhere near kitchen.Absolutely disgusting, and expecting miracles and yes we did and still not happy..

After initially seeing such rave reviews for A1 on Angie's List, I rushed and called them for some renovation work I was looking to have done on a new apartment. I was put in contact with Keith to provide the estimate. After canceling one appointment and not calling two other days when he promised me he would call me, I decided I did not want to contract anyone that couldn't even set up the appointment for the estimate, none the less for the actual job. It sounded like Keith had a lot going on in his personal life but if he was unable to assist, they should have assigned someone else.
Description of Work: The job was to consist of demolishing a closet and building a new one as well as putting up a new wall and possibly some bathroom work as well, depending on the price.

THEN IT WAS THE SAME STORY,THE MEMBER CALLED AND KEPT LEAVING MESSAGES THEN FINALLY GOT A HOLD OF MEMBER WHO SET A TIME AND DATE THEN CANCELED OUT...HE CALLED AGAIN AND SET UP A TIME AND DATE,AND THEN HE HAD TO CANCEL,THEN THE 3RD TIME AND DATE SETUP UP WAS THE DAY OF SNOW STORM WHICH HE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE TRAIN DOWN FROM WESTCHESTER COUNTY BUT HIS TRUCK WAS IN GARAGE FOR A REPAIR AND COULDN'T AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE A BLIZZARD ANYWAY....SO THEN WHEN KEITH TRIED TO SET ANOTHER DATE AND TIME THIS MEMBER GOT REAL NASTY AND TOLD HIM FORGET IT.THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING ME TO EXPLAIN AS OWNER OF THE COMPANY ON WHAT REALLY TOOK PLACE...

I called after reading the reviews & told the owner that I was looking to get a quote for a new tub, toilet, wall tiles & floor. He immediately stated his prices are between $20,000-$25,000 because I have a co-op that requires insurance & licenses. I said that was out of my budget & he asked what my budget is. I said $10, 000. He said he doesn't do remodeling for anywhere near that price. I felt like he didn't want to be bothered with such a small amount of money & was rushed off the phone. He is a very nice guy, but he handed me a very unprofessional business card that was a homemade Vista card. He says he quotes the highest bid because he is number 1 on Angie's List. His name is Kevin Klepper. I think he might have paid someone to put a review on Angie's List. His English was very poor, and none of the reviews I read had very good English. UNFORTUNATELY, AS FAR AS PAYING ANYONE TO WRITE A REVIEW, YOU CAN'T AT ANGIE'S LIST, THEY HAVE TO BE A MEMBER AND WRITE REVIEW...."NICE TRY" THIS MEMBER WAS REALLY CONFUSED AND VERY FRUSTRATED OVER ME ASKING MANY QUESTIONS AND EVALUATING THE SITUATION. I WAS VERY CLEAR TO INFORM HER WORKING HER CO-OP BUILDING AND ALL THE PAPERWORK AND APPROVALS WAS VERY COMPLICATED AND LICENSING INSURANCES ETC..HER ELECTRIC WAS NOT UP TO CODE,AND PLUMBING AND IN ORDER TO RENOVATE BY BUILDING BOARDS PROCEDURES AND BUILDING DEPTS PROCEDURES, WE NEEDED THAT ALL UPDATED TO NYC BUILDING CODE,PER HER BUILDING BOARD AND MANAGEMENT........WHEN I GAVE HER A PRICE ESTIMATED ON INEXPENSIVE CABINETS FLOOR AND COUNTERTOPS OF $45,000.00. SHE GOT VERY HOSTILE WITH ME AND DEMANDED TO KNOW WHY AND WHERE ALL THIS COST IS COMING INTO PLACE AND I EXPLAINED AGAIN AS I DID ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE ESTIMATE AND INTERVIEW PROCESS. AND IF YOU WANT A COMPANY THAT SPELLS CORRECTLY, HAS PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS CARDS AND DOESN'T WRITE THEIR OWN REVIEWS, YOU CAN GET YOUR KITCHEN DONE FOR $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU IN YOUR PROJECT.

He said he would call the next week with the estimate. I gave him 10 days and followed up with a phone message, and I have yet to hear from him regarding this.

Kevin really does answer emails and phone calls, as all the reports say, and he took the time to give me lots of information even before I had contracted him to do the work. I have never lived through construction before, so I found parts of it very stressful, but Kevin inspires confidence and brings the stress level down. He is reassuring when problems come up, and he is very cost-conscious and offers different possible solutions. And he is generous; he did some work not included in his estimate and wouldn't charge me for it.
Description of Work: Demolition of parts of existing wall to open up closet space, installation of two sets of double French doors.

THIS PROJECT AND MEMBER WERE GREAT...SHE WASN'T PRICE SHOPPING AROUND AND HAVING 10 CONTRACTORS THERE FOR ESTIMATE WHICH WAS NICE, AND VERY RESPECTFUL TO ME...SHE WAS VERY CLEAR TO WHAT SHE WANTED DONE AND GAVE HER MY SUGGESTIONS WITH LAYOUT,AND SHE HAD ARCHITECT FRIEND DRAW IT UP...THE BUILDINGS PROCEDURES WERE VERY TOUGH AND HAD AN UNUSUALLY HIGH STANDARD WITH INSURANCE, BUT WE MANAGED TO ACCOMMODATE...WE HAD MAJOR ISSUES WITH DOORS COMING CUSTOM MADE BACKWARDS AND MOUNTED,TO ELECTRIC NOT BEING SUFFICIENT FOR DIMMERS AND LIGHTS,TO CARPET AND SADDLE ISSUES BECAUSE WALLS WERE NEVER BUILT EVENLY AROUND THIS PREWAR UPPER WESTSIDE APARTMENT...THIS TOTAL OF THIS PROJECT ELECTRIC, DEMO FRAMING AND CLOSET ORGANIZER, AND EVERYTHING SOUP TO NUTS CAME IN AT $17,000.00, AND IS A GORGEOUS CLOSET...

We are generally satisfied with the end product. However, email communications between us and the contractor were often confusing and much too complicated. It was typical for us to write an email with several questions and only get a single question answered. Kevin was trying to help us save money, which we appreciated. The downside was that we were continually concerned about the quality of the materials, but when all was said and done, we were satisfied with the quality. Kevin tried to accommodate our daughter and son-in-law's schedule, completing the kitchen while they were away. We appreciated this.
Description of Work: Small co-op bathroom and kitchen were gutted and rebuilt. New tile-work (tub surround, walls and floor) was done in the bathroom. Stock kitchen cabinets and countertops were installed as was a tile floor. Walls and trim were painted. The co-op made it difficult to start the job. There were long discussions regarding the need to replace plumbing and electrical. Finally, we were doing this from a distance. Our daughter and son-in-law live in the co-op, which we own. We live 250 miles from NYC where the work was done.

AMEN TO MY WONDERFUL CLIENTS AND MEMBERS LIKE THIS WHO TRULY RESPECT AND UNDERSTAND THE ART OF FANTASTIC HIGH END GENERAL CONTRACTING AND APPRECIATE IT AND WRITE A WONDERFUL REVIEW. MOST MEMBERS LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE ARE SHOPPING THE CHEAPEST CONTRACTORS. I FIRST MET WITH THIS CLIENT'S DAUGHTER AND SON-IN-LAW AND THEY WERE VERY CLEAR TO EXPLAIN WHAT THEY WANTED DONE. I EXPLAINED TO THEM CLEARLY WE DO HIGH END WORKMANSHIP AND THAT MY MEN ARE SKILLED LABOR AND I AM ON THE PROJECT EVERYDAY. I SENT THEM A TON OF PICTURES OF OLD FASHION STYLE SUBWAY STYLE BATHROOMS I HAVE DONE TONS OF AROUND 5 BOROUGHS THAT ARE HIGH END OLD WORLD STYLE WITH A TWIST OF MODERNIZATION. THEY WERE VERY IMPRESSED AND WE WERE ON OUR WAY TO A WONDERFUL RELATIONSHIP. I GAVE THEM AN ESTIMATE THAT I SENT OFF TO PARENTS IN BOSTON, AND THEY AGREED AND SENT ME A $20,000.00 CHECK AND SIGNED CONTRACT, AND THE JOB WASN'T GONNA TAKE PLACE FOR 6 MONTHS OR BETTER, AS I DO SCHEDULE MY JOBS WELL IN ADVANCE WITH DEPOSIT AND CONTRACT. I HAD TO ORDER SEMI CUSTOM CABINETS FOR KITCHEN AND ALL DIDN'T WORK OUT AS PLANNED, BUT WAS ALWAYS VERY CLEAR TO E-MAIL THE ENTIRE FAMILY WITH EVERY NEW DEVELOPMENT FROM SINK TO COUNTERTOP TO ELECTRIC LINE FOR MICROWAVE. I CAN SEE WHY THEY WERE GETTING OVERWHELMED WITH THE E-MAILS FROM ME, SINCE I HAD THE MOTHER ASKING QUESTION ON E-MAILS, THE FATHER ASKING QUESTIONS ON E-MAILS AND THE COUPLE SEPARATELY ASKING ME QUESTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS THROUGH E-MAILS AND I WAS ALWAYS SURE I ANSWERED THEIR QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS AND COPY AND PASTED AND SENT TO EACH MEMBER OF THE FAMILY DAILY. THEY TOOK ALL MY SUGGESTIONS AND DESIGNS VERY SERIOUSLY SINCE I SEE APARTMENTS EVERYDAY AND KNOW WHAT RESELL OF AN APARTMENT AND RENOVATION WILL BRING OR GO OUT OF STYLE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR BUSINESS AND WONDERFUL REVIEW. IT WAS A PLEASURE WORKING FOR ALL OF YOU.

We had a great experience working with Kevin. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking to get a bathroom redone. First, he showed up for the estimate on-time and provided a detailed quote. We had gotten other quotes over the past year that were higher and just dismissed them. When someone says "yeah I'll do it for $30 K" without even thinking about it or measuring anything, you just feel like you're about to get ripped off. His communication was great; He didn't try to sell us upgrades and features we didn't need. The shower body is a great example - if we had replaced it, it would have been $6000 more because we would have had to replace the branch lines that hook our plumbing to the building's main line. Kevin assured us we didn't need to do that - he could have easily convinced us to shell out another $6 K since to this day I'm not sure what the shower body is. He provided before and after pictures of work he had done which made it easy to say "yes, we'll take the Park Slope one". Choosing someone else's bathroom design made things very easy for us of course - I didn't have to pick out anything. We trusted Kevin's judgment on what would look good and went with it. Again, this definitely worked for us - I don't have much interest in choosing a specific type of tile, a specific toilet seat. All the items were likely bought at the Home Depot, which was fine with us. Kevin helped us assemble all the paperwork for our co-op board and building management company. Lots of pages of licenses & insurance requirements and descriptions of the scope of work. Kevin's written quote was sufficient for the scope of work; I took 360 degree pictures of the bathroom and said "we're replacing everything in the same spot". He even contacted the management company to make sure they got all the needed information and that he was providing the insurance info in the correct format. Kevin started May 8th and finished about 12 work days later. The apartment was a little bit dusty when they were done but that's to be expected when you're ripping down tile and tearing up a floor. The bathroom looks great! The work itself is consistent with our expectations - it's a very nice bathroom that was finished quickly and neatly. I think most of all, it was clear Kevin wanted us to be happy with the work - his customer service was excellent. I think we knew whoever we chose would ultimately do a good job - but choosing a contractor who you actually like and would recommend to your friends is huge - especially in NYC.
Description of Work: We had our upper east side apartment's bathroom gutted and redone. The floor tile replaced, the tile on the walls, new paint job, new toilet, vanity and faucet, medicine cabinet, light fixture, glass shower doors, re glazed tub, new tub fixtures, and a new electrical outlet. We did not replace the shower body which can lead to further upgrades required by the co-op board. We do not use the apartment enough to warrant that kind of upgrade.

THIS MEMBER AND HER HUSBAND WERE SPECTACULAR TO WORK FOR. SHE FOUND ME ON HERE AND HAD ME MEET WITH HER HUSBAND WHO CAME DOWN FROM CONNECTICUT. MET WITH ME 10 MINUTES, GAVE HIM THE ESTIMATE AND WE WROTE THE CONTRACT AND HE GAVE ME HALF DEPOSIT FOR THE JOB WITHOUT SKIPPING A BEAT OR HESITATION. THE JOB WASN'T GONNA START FOR MONTHS, BUT BECAUSE OF MY LONG OUTSTANDING WAITING LIST MOST OF THE YEAR, I WAS ABLE TO FILL OUT THEIR ALTERATION AGREEMENT PACKAGE FROM BUILDING CO-OP BOARD, SUBMIT SCOPE OF WORK, SUBMIT LICENSES, INSURANCE, ETC AND PLAN. IT TOOK THE BOARD MONTHS AND A LOT OF COMPLICATIONS AS ALWAYS APPROVING AND GETTING PROPER SCHEDULING, BUT THE MEMBER AND HER HUSBAND WERE PATIENT AND KNEW I HAD IT UNDER CONTROL AND WAS REPUTABLE AND EXPERIENCED FOR 30 YEARS TO KNOW WHAT TO DO. AS A MATTER A FACT, THE MEMBERS WERE NEVER THERE AND HAD ANOTHER PLACE OF RESIDENCE AND ONLY SHOWED UP AT END OF JOB WITH CHECK IN HAND AND WERE PLEASED. ON TIME, ON BUDGET AND EXCELLENT WORKMANSHIP. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR BUSINESS. I REALLY APPRECIATED IT.

Mr. Klepper returned my calls directly and promptly. He was kind, but he explained that "since he is Angie's List top dog, my jobs start at $20,000." I did not appreciate the attitude he approached the job with. He was not derogatory, but I was disturbed by the fact that he was totally unwilling to even look at my job unless I was willing to pay that. I explained that the job would not be big enough to warrant that much. He explained that his caliber of work would be. I expect to pay for the work, and want good work, but I would not use him. He was nice, but it seemed condescending to not give me the time of day without wanting to spend that much.
Description of Work: I called inquiring about an estimate for a job to remodel my mother's bathroom.

AGAIN MY APOLOGIES TO THIS MEMBER AS I DO ADMIT THAT MY PHONE CONVERSATIONS WITH POTENTIAL CLIENTS ARE ALWAYS VERY CLEAR TO EXPLAIN PRICE STRUCTURING IN ADVANCE SO THAT THERE IS NO MISCOMMUNICATION THAT WE DO NOT DO BATHROOMS, FULL GUTOUTS FOR $5,000.00, AND TO MOVE ON IF YOUR ARE PRICE SHOPPING CONTRACTORS. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME FOR THAT AND CERTAINLY DON'T WANT TO WASTE ANYONE'S PRECIOUS TIME EITHER. AND I DO MAKE IT VERY CLEAR AS MY PROFILE STATES WE ARE A HIGH END GENERAL CONTRACTING FIRM AND CLIENTS THAT WE HAVE WORKED FOR HAVE WRITTEN IN THE COST OF THEIR PROJECTS, BUT IF YOU MEMBERS TOOK THE TIME TO READ THEM INSTEAD OF CALLING EVERY CONTRACTOR ON THERE AND THEN WRITE A BAD REVIEW, YOU WOULD SEE THAT. I GUESS IT'S BETTER OFF I SCREEN CLIENTS ON PHONE THE WAY I DO. CAN IMAGINE IF I WENT TO WORK FOR THIS MEMBER WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR ALLOWING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEFEND MY COMPANY THAT I HAVE WORKED EXTREMELY HARD TO BUILD REPUTATION FOR 30 YEARS AND MY FAMILY'S 150 YEARS OF IMPECCABLE SERVICE TO NEW YORK STATE WITH NO CREDIT PROBLEMS, NO BANKRUPTCIES, NO LAWSUITS, NO ANYTHING. I GUESS I AM DOING SOMETHING RIGHT SCREENING POTENTIAL CLIENTS. GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND HOPE YOU FIND A CONTRACTOR TO DO YOUR MOTHER'S BATHROOM FOR $2,000.

I asked Kevin (who did the cabinets in my kitchen) to come over and take a look at the bathrooms for some cosmetic remodeling. My biggest concern was getting the walls repainted to correct some work my building super had done to the ceiling due to some pipes leaking upstairs. When Kevin came he recommended sanding/skim coating/ repainting the walls, regrouting the tiles, reglazing the tub, replacing the sink and cabinet, replacing the vanity, replacing the light fixtures and retiling the floor. Based on my current needs and finances, I opted to do only some of the things he suggested. The timing worked out very well as he had a break in his schedule within a week of me deciding what to do. In an effort to inconvenience me as little as possible, he had a crew of 4 people plus himself to try to finish the work as quickly as possible. All in all, it took just over 4 days to complete both bathrooms. As usual, all the equipment and supplies were left neatly stacked to the side at the end of each day. I'm very pleased with how the two bathrooms turned out. Kevin considered my preferences when choosing the new sinks, cabinets, vanities and light fixtures, even picking a cabinet that was similar to my kitchen cabinets (that I had also chosen).
Description of Work: Two small bathrooms were: - walls / paint sanded and skim coated, repainted - wall tiles regrouted - new sinks and cabinets - new mirrors / vanities - new lighting
