Description of Work: We purchased a floor model GE Profile gas stove. At the time we were told that the original purchaser had not measured correctly and the unit had to be returned. We were also told that all warrantees would apply. The first time I turned on the oven, the inside glass shattered. I called immediately and was assured that a new oven door would be ordered and installed within a day or two. One week later nothing had happened. Allen,the manager, was impatient and condescending each time I spoke to him. Ten days after we reported the problem he sent a repairman with the wrong replacement glass (not a new door). When we complained, he told us that he would order a new stove which would be delivered within a week. We objected to waiting yet again and we were told that he was replacing a floor model with a new unit and we should be grateful. He also mentioned that if we were not happy he would arrange to pick up the unit and we could go to PC Richards. We took him up on his offer and the unit was picked up the next day. He provided no receipt or paperwork, but we were able to make a copy of his handwritten instructions to the delivery guy. We also notified the credit card company and were eventually able to obtain a credit.

My new Bosch dishwasher was installed on the date and time promised. My one concern is that it was not screwed into the cabinet side wall because it was slightly smaller than the previous dishwasher. The installer assured me that it would not move as it was anchored firmly under the counter. So far this seems to be the case.
Description of Work: I needed a new dishwasher and wanted to look at different Bosch models before purchasing. Gringer had floor models and knowledgeable sales personnel who answered my questions.

My purchase of a refrig and stove turned into a one year nightmare that included their delivering a frig with a dorr that opened the wrong way and then the company sent no less that 5 more doors here - that took a year on total -- which were dented, a freezer door instead of the refrigerator door, two doors for anothe rmodel etc,etc... In the end Gringer decided that the only way to dea with the problem would be to return the original frig and get another one but the model was no longer being made so they changed the frig for a GE. Although the money was returned to them from Jenn-Aire ( Jenn-Aire is totally incompetent and could not manage to do one thing right, including sending the replacvement doors to me by Fedex instead of to Gringer's) Gringer refused to give me the returned money "until they had the frig back" . The new one they got was a different design (which I don't like) and was minimally less expensive. The deliver guys ripped a rug and were generally unpleasent and couldn't reconnect the water line for the ice maker so they had to have someone else come in (4 days later requiring another move of the frig -- a 36 inch -- damaging the new cork floor covering) Gringer refused to be responsible for any of that and in the end I had to threaten them with legal action to get my refund check and an invoice! The Bertazzoni they sold me they said has an infared gas grill in the oven -- it doesn't - it has a normal gas broiler! They should know better

We originally purchased an NXR stainless steel stove but it was apparent that there were flaws in the finish and that this was not an appliance that would hold up. Allan Schuster willingly took the stove back despite its having been mildly used, and helped us to choose a more appropriate oven. We chose a Theramador and though it was more expensive, the stoves can't be compared. Allan Schuster was perfect to work with; he was responsive, very kind, down to earth, professional, and could not have done any better. I would definitely shop at Gringer's again.

Bought several large appliances with assurance of delivery on a specified date which was necessary for a project. Said they would send an invoice. Did not send invoice in timely fashion but immediately charged credit card. Day before delivery called to say they did not have items available. Said replacement items would be sent later, which was too late. Person on phone (Javier) was unprofessional, sarcastic, untimely in responses.

Description of Work: We placed an order for a frig and dishwasher (both GE), a BlueStar range and a Prestige hood. The prices were ok. The order was placed in mid April for delivery the next week. Of course I expected delays. The salesman told us the range was backordered and should be in in a week or so. This line was repeated to us a couple of times. In the end of May I called BlueStar directly and found that they had no back orders. I also called a middleman company called Signature Marketing. Within an hour I received a call from Gringer's saying the range was in now but the hood was backordered. In early June I called Prestige about the hood and was informed there was no backorder from their end. Finally on June 23rd the merchandise was delivered. On to problem 2. The order had been placed with a deposit of 50%. (More then 7,000). We gave them a check and it was cleared by our bank within 2 days. The receipt we had clearly said COD and we had anticipated paying when the appliances were delivered. When delivery was finally arranged we were informed we had to either bring them a check or pay by credit card prior to delivery. We spoke with a woman at Gringer's who told us a certified check would be alright. The next day we were told that we could not do this. I spoke with someone I believed was the owner and he refused to budge. We wanted this to be over so we charged the remaining balance. Low and behold, when the delivery man arrived he wants a certified check and his copy of the receipt clearly told him to collect on delivery. In short, the buying part of this company is easy. It is the disrespect, lack of common courtesy and non-existent customer service that is just bordering on criminal.

We revisited Gringer, showed them the technician's report, told them about the parts delay. Their immediate response was, "We'll get you a replacement as soon as possible". There was some confusion on delivery and installation dates, but Gringer bent over backwards to make things right, during Christmas week! We were very pleased. As an observation, my guess is that the broken dishwasher had been dropped somewhere along the way because everything on the door (control panel, latch, seal) had failed.
Description of Work: Brand new Bosch dishwasher failed after 5 cycles. Gringer recommended two uncooperative (2 month wait for service!?!?) repair firms. Called Bosch directly; technician came in 4 days. Technician diagnosed the problems very quickly, and attempted to order parts. Parts were not even back-ordered -- they were unavailable until some unspecified point in the future, likely several months. Technician recommended replacement.

Well basically, this company did not care about anything because they are just paid to sell. I had the absolute worst time. They would not even tell me that I had to arrange my own delivery. The people gave me the run around. I thought because I was spending so much money, it would have been better. There is a complication with delivery in this town, it's hard to get things through small spaces. They did not tell me this in advance and I had to hire someone else to do it. The appliances did not work and they would not do anything. I had to call the manufacture.
Description of Work: I had bought some high end appliances through Gringer. I bought a Sub Zero refrigerator, Viking stove and a dishwasher.

It was a pretty bad experience. The initial sale was fine. The salesperson was knowledgeable and helpful, though he never remembered us. The problems started with the delivery. First, they delivered the refrigerator with the doors on the wrong side, so they had to take it back. In the process, they damaged a brand new floor and an older floor. After months of trying to contact them about this, they only responded when we contacted the BBB. The resolution was for us to go after the delivery company. We never got any compensation for about $1000 worth of floor repair.

I DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I FEEL THAT THEY TOOK ONE LOOK AT MY APARTMENT AND ADJUSTED THEIR FEE ACCORDINGLY. I DIDN'T GET AN ESTIMATE, BUT I SHOULD HAVE. IN THE END, THE REPAIR TIME WAS QUICK AND THEY DID DO THE WORK RIGHT.
