 + -1 moreMy coop was unhappy with our regular exterminator's handling of a bedbug problem in our building, so we hired Green Earth to come to our building to do some inspections of apartments we needed to have checked out. The technicians were extremely thorough in their inspection, compared to what the regular exterminator did. On that visit, they didn't find any bedbugs in the particular apartments they checked. Later someone in the building reported she had found bedbugs in her apartment. We decided to hire Green Earth to do the treatment. She has had the first treatment and it seemed to go well. But I can't speak to the effectiveness yet. Josh Alpert, who runs the company, has been infinitely helpful and responsive to our needs. There have been a few hitches due to the varying, unpreditable schedules of our residents, but Mr. Alpert has been unfailingly accommodating. He responds promptly and communicates well, too, which I value enormously.
Description of Work: Inspection by pest-control technicians of several apartments to see if they had bedbugs; inspection by canine of several apartments, also looking for bedbugs; treatment of one apartment for bedbugs.

Josh is clearly an expert, the price was good and discounted through Angie's list, and the gentleman who came to do the work was SO polite, knowledgeable and respectful of my interior space. I will use them for maintenance as well.
Description of Work: Rat control in my garden - rats had moved in over the last 2 months into this network of yards. Had bait laid in holes and holes sealed, had one exterior bait trap put out.

Description of Work: I hired Green Earth to eliminate water bug (American Cockroach) and mouse intrusions into my tenants 4&1/2 room apartment. I spoke to Josh Alpert who,was very patient with me. He answered all my questions, even when I asked them repeatedly and followed up with an email explaining all the options. In brief basic rodent or roach services were $180 plus tax each. If I elected to do both in the same visit he offered to charge only a single $180 fee. Rodent exclusion service is priced at $375 plus tax for up to two hours, longer jobs accrue additional charges @ $125 an hour and includes the basic service plus closing off all points of entry (within reason, any thing that requires contractor level repairs or a team of movers to give the technician access to problem areas is outside the scope of their service and return visits necessitated thereby are subject to additional charges). Again, as long as it was to be during the same service call water bug service was included at no additional fee. I elected the exclusion service. I reasoned that traps and poisons are solely temporary solutions, whereas denying the vermin access, if done properly, will greatly extend the period of protection. Josh was able to accommodate my schedule and I gave a deposit by credit card over the phone. The tech arrived as scheduled. He was courteous and professional, heck, he was friendly. He answered my questions about what he was doing as he worked. He also worked cleanly and efficiently, completing the job in just over 90 minutes. With the discount as an Angie's list customer the cost of the rodent exclusion and water bug services came in at under $350. I waited nearly a month before writing this review to see how effective the service was. So far the tenant reports no mice or bugs whatsoever! I am pleased to say I was impressed by the service I received for such a reasonable price.

Description of Work: We had a small mouse problem, and the company arranged an appointment the next day. Peter came promptly, and very thoroughly went through our home and found all the holes -- and even trapped a mouse in our kitchen and caught it in a glue trap while still in our home. What more can you ask for? Very satisfied.

I spoke to Josh who arranged for one of his men to come over & diagnose the problem the next day; he figured out where the openings were & told me he could fix the problem. Josh arranged for a return visit & the job was done carefully, efficiently & with professionalism. His exterminator was very knowledgeable and pleasant. He came when he said he would & Josh accommodated my busy schedule. Josh was clear about the cost of doing the work & i thought his estimate was reasonable. Altogether a very pleasant experience. I recommend Green Earth Pest Control highly & would use them again.
Description of Work: I found rat droppings in a basement closet & needed to find out how a rat got in & died. ( knew that by the smell) . Green Earth Pest Control diagnosed the problem I was having by sending a technician to my home to do a detailed inspection. He cleaned up the droppings. The technician explained what the problem was and what needed to be done to fix it. He told me to call Josh and arrange a time for the technician to come back & do the work. He returned several days later at the appointed time and the work was done. i.e. he filled all holes with materials that he said would most effectively prevent a rat from getting into the building.

 + -1 moreAll of the technicians were prompt, professional and courteous and answered all of our questions and concerns, and most importantly, took care of the problem swiftly. (The canine was also professional and extremely cute.) They advised us and our tenant on how to prepare for the heat treatment and what to do following to prevent reinfestation. It's been two and a half weeks now since treatment, and so far no bed bugs have reappeared. We're confident they're gone. I would definitely recommend Green Earth again.
Description of Work: Green Earth quickly responded to our Friday afternoon request for an inspection of our tenant's apartment after a complaint of bed bugs. They arrived within hours, confirmed that bed bugs indeed had infested the bed and explained our options for treatment. We initially chose to use pesticides, but once we realized all of the maintenance required of our brand-new tenant, and that it would take a second treatment, we talked to them about the more costly, but more effective and less work-intensive route of heat remediation. Even though their office was closed Saturday morning, Josh kindly responded to all of our frantic questions and concerns about making the switch from pesticides to heat. We also scheduled a canine inspection of our home, which is adjoined to the apartment.

The technician arrived as planned, wore booties and went through every problem area to get rid of ants. He explained everything he did and I haven;t seen an ant since--even though I was warned that the infestation could increase temporarily. The best part--no long term contract--like another famous company that wanted to charge $300 every month instead of $300 for a one time solution.
Description of Work: I needed a pest control company to address small ants that resurfaced in the bathrooms, kitchen and den of my house every Spring until late Fall even when using sprays and traps.

 + -1 moreInspection was done by 2 techs and lasted about 45 minutes. They wore shoe coverings, which was a nice touch, and carefully put everything back. They put 2 glue boards out to see what they could find, but nothing has appeared after several days and we're still getting bites. The tech suggested dust mites might be the culprit, but it's a new apartment and we've thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned the bedroom and even under and behind the bedframe. We also just started getting them in the past month or so, so it seems odd that we would suddenly develop a sensitivity to dust mites. The other possibility is there are bugs coming in the apartment for a meal and then leaving again, which seems unlikely, but don't know what else . We're frustrated, but it's not the company's fault. Hope we find a solution soon.

He was very thorough, and even caulked a crevice under the woodwork where ants were dwelling. I like the fact that a follow up treatment is available within 65 days, at a reduced price, if further extermination is needed.

Description of Work: I called to request a canine bed bug inspection of my apartment. After I described my situation, Josh recommended against using the dog and referred me to another company. I really appreciated it because he probably spent about 15 min. talking me through my options and didn't make a dime off me. He easily could have just charged me for services that wouldn't really wouldn't have made much sense given my situation (I'm moving so he suggested a fumigation service that fumigates your belongings in a trailer, rather than your home). Thanks so much!

I found them courteous and professional. They called me 1/2 hour before they arrived for my appointment to let me know that they were on their way. They introduced themselves when they arrived and worked around the construction going on in my home. I couldn't ask for anymore. The only thing I can do now is wait to see if the chemical that they used, which by the way had no smell, works!
Description of Work: I just had basic service done to treat for spiders and ants. The two (2) gentleman that came, sprayed and checked for source inside and outside. They also did a termite inspection. They completely sprayed on two (2) floors of my house.

 + -1 moreI Have been dealing with bedbugs for about 4 months in my studio apartment. and tried to exterminate on my own. I finally gave in a went on Angie's list to find a reputable company. Greenearthpest had amazing reviews, so I gave them a call. Josh was very helpful over the phone; explaining services provided and what I would need to do to prepare. He sent an email right then with price lists, prep worksheet and product info on the pesticides used. We set up an appt within the week and I got the prep work done in about two days (bagging up all clothing and items from closets and dressers, and cleaning floor and furniture). The night before I received a reminder phone call and they gave me a one hour time frame for when they would show up (awesome!). Peter showed up right at 8am (amazing!) after a phone call letting me know he was in the area. Peter was kind, professional and understanding of the delicate nature of bed bugs in a coop apartment building. He finished within the hour (small studio) and gave me a call so I could come lock up. I'm writing this immediately after the first visit. I expect good things and I hope this will be the end of my "little roommates". There is a follow up visit scheduled in 7 days. We'll see how it all goes!

Description of Work: We had seen waterbugs and ants in the house following the hurricane and lots of rain. They came in, sprayed inside and outside the house and laid time release poison or anti-fertility traps. Everything was explained clearly, they sent me an advances list of all the chemicals and treatments they would use and followed up after the visit with an email receipt. We have seen NO problems since and turn up a dead waterbug once in a while, even 6 months later. They were extremely professional, efficient and all in all did a great job! I will call them right away if I ever need them again!
