Jeovani and team were very professional from the get-go. Our estimates not only were much, much better compared to the other flooring companies in the Jersey City area, but were pretty spot on as well. We recently bought a condo in the Paulus Hook area, Jersey City, and we have a pretty strict condo association. We had to get the existing carpeting and parquet flooring removed. Our condo floors are made of cement, so the team drilled in a brand new plywood sub floor, nailed our Brazillian cherry solid hardwood floors. The solid hardwood floors + plywood subfloors raised the height of the wood, so they had to remove the baseboard moulding and reinstall them, and they had to slice off a bit of each door and closet door in our condo to ensure they opened and closed properly on the newly raised floor. We are thrilled with our floors - they look beautiful! And you can never tell what happened to the baseboard moulding. A few things that set them apart: 1. Price - we had similar flooring guys from Hoboken give us some crap about gluing the solid hardwood on concrete because they didnt want to go through all the hassle of installing a subfloor and nailing down plywood. Even then, they quoted an exorbitant price. 2. The repurposed the moulding! All other contractors told us we needed to buy new moulding all over again. With Special Flooring, we didnt have to spend any extra money on buying brand new moulding. 3. Great quality, solid, nailed down floors.

I contacted Jay about installing laminate floors in my apartment. He was very informative and explained to me all the materials I needed to purchase including the different types of molding and my underlayment options. I felt comfortable after speaking to him, felt that he was professional, and knew what he was talking about. On the scheduled day of installation, he called first thing in the morning to let me know he was in his way. He and his worker arrived on time. Throughout the day, he updated me on their status and answered any questions I had. He remained on site throughout the day and supervised the job. They completed the installation of my flooring and molding in one day as promised. They cleaned up after the job was completed and made sure I was pleased with the work. Overall, I thought they did an excellent job and would highly recommend them. They were knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and courteous.
