Essex Plumbing Heating and Cooling

Essex Plumbing never showed up to fix our leaking faucet. He gave the job to another plumber, Empire State Plumbing, located in Whitestone, Queens without telling us. That plumber was 2 1/2 hours late for the appointment, about 19 years old, and had no idea what he was doing. He told us we needed to replace our faucets, took a check for $204 and said he would be back in an hour with new faucets to install. He never contacted us with the promised pictures of the faucet choices. We waited two hours and called Empire. They said they thought he was finished with the job and agreed to try to contact him. The and quot;plumberand quot; then called and said that all the plumbing supply stores were closed, which was a lie. It was a Saturday afternoon and Home Depot was clearly open. He said he would come back on Sunday, instead. Obviously, if the stores weren't open on Saturday afternoon, they weren't going to be open on Sunday--which also happened to be Mother's Day. I called Empire back to complain and received a call from a manager. I told him we were no longer interested in their services and instructed them not to cash our check or we would take them to court. (They mailed the check back to us about a week later.) I also left a message that same day with Essex Plumbing, the Angie's-rated plumber we thought we hired. They never called back. Our first experience using Angie's List, and it was a complete and utter failure; what a waste of months of subscription costs. Oh, and by the way, our super fixed the sink; it was a $.69 cent washer that needed to be replaced!

They were great and I have no complaints. They were punctual,clean and professional. They also have fair prices and you get a good value for your money.
