Went well. Contractor completed the work and installed the right parts. No issues, except cleaning, which I ended up doing. Otherwise, everything that needed to be done was done to our satisfaction. Would definitely consider him again.

George and his team were absolutely amazing! In addition to being friendly, while staying professional, they were ingenious in creating a solution to the installation that didn't involve the destruction of the existing tiles, walls, and cabinets in the kitchen. They were also very informative regarding all steps of the project and answered any questions that came up. They even helped with issues that were loosely related to the project, i.e.: helping to troubleshoot how the water heater functioned and cleaning a drainage problem with the dishwasher that turned out to be completely unrelated. The team didn't have any issues going back to adjust items that we felt didn't look correct and, if the adjustment couldn't be made to the specifications of the request, they did their best to explain why. The project ran slightly over schedule, but this was completely my fault as I ordered the wrong dryer. They didn't have any issues with changing their schedule to meet the arrival of the replacement dryer. As soon as it arrived they opened a spot in their schedule for that same week, completing the installation and all of the remaining work. The also gave us assurance of the quality of their work stating upon project completion that if we found any thing to be incorrect or not agreeable, to just give them a call and they'll come make it right. I would highly recommend Elite Tech USA Inc for anyone that needs work done and would use them in the future for any other projects that we might fancy.

George and his crew did two magnificent projects for us. They did a complete transformation of our basement and a full renovation of our third floor rental apartment. George is completely hands on and oversees the entire process. He responds promptly to emails, texts and calls and is always looks for the best way to save money on any project. He will work with you to keep the project on budget and to complete it quickly and with NO DRAMA. His crew is clean, friendly and professional and attend to every detail. And he always gives you the best price. At this point, we consider George a member of our family and will always go to him for any construction project. You won't be disappointed. He's the honest experienced contractor that you thought you'd never find in NYC!

HORRIBLY!!!!! This morning at 6am on a Sunday morning I was awakened by the smoke detectors going off on (my home has hard wired smoke detectors). Thankfully there wasn't a fire but what I discovered was a flood instead. The faulty plumbing provided by Elite Tech caused a flood damaging my carpeting, the ceiling beneath where work was done, lighting and potentially the smoke detector. So I've spent the better part of my morning shutting off water lines, mopping and assessing damages that will now have to be repaired.
Description of Work: The provider was supposed to install a water supply line for my new refrigerator's ice maker. The new refrigerator was on site and it was visible to the provider that it did not have a water dispenser unit, just an ice maker. The provider installed a supply line that is very visibly marked "DO NOT USE FOR ICE MAKER". I contacted Angie's List Customer Support Line to make a complaint and haven't had a resolution yet.

We gut renovated our garden floor apartment to create a rental unit. We live in a 100 + brownstone in Brooklyn. From start to end, its been a very easy & pleasant process. I'm an interior designer, and I've work with several contractors prior to this and its been nothing but disappointing and infuriating process. But the work George and his team has done at our home has been absolutely amazing. - Demo was done fast and easy. The garbage removal happened exactly on the days he promised. No mess anywhere around the home. - He helped me get in contact with his suppliers for hardwood flooring, kitchen cabinets and I got SUPERB quality materials for a great price. Things were done in a timely manner, exactly the way we discussed and he promised. - They leveled the ceiling and the floors perfectly and very meticulously. Then sound proofed the ceiling with a special sheet rock and sound proof foam insulation. It was done so perfectly, the noise level on the floor decreased by at least 70%. - Pluming in the kitchen was completely redone. - Electrical wiring was completely redone also, and installed several light fixtures. - Hardwood floors were installed ( with a sound proof liner ) and sanded, stained, buffed and poly. Turned out beautiful, clean and flawless. - Tile floors were installed in the foyer and the entrance. Sturdy and clean. - We have an extension that was used as a laundry room. They completely insulated the space, new walls, new door, new lighting and flooring. Everything was done perfectly, exactly the way I wanted. From pluming, electric to little details like painting, I am 100% happy with the results. I highly recommend George and his team. I would ONLY work with them at my home and for my clients in the future.

As far as I can tell everything is working well and I have no complaints. I only had to pay extra for parts that weren't available for him and I went past my time limit for the Big Deal. There was one worker to come out. He was here within roughly the time frame. They called before they came. He finished the way it should be. The guy was knowledgeable. He had no problem doing that particular job.

Excellent! Very happy with the results. This is the second time we used George's company. Work started precisely on time and lasted just as long as George estimated. The cost estimate was done a year ago, but there were no overruns - very professional. George and his workers are very flexible and were able to accommodate many requests - and if they couldn't, they explained why not and we agreed with the reason. We pre-reviewed our designs for the kitchen and the bathroom beforehand, and George suggested the places to get cabinets and counter and other supplies - we are happy with them as well. Totally recommend!

George had to put up with a lot of rust and although the job proved challenging, he was up to the task and found solutions to get the work done. I was asked to help and was happy to assist. The job took longer than anticipated but he didn't charge me for the extra hour because he accidentally broke the soap dish off the wall when removing the sink to better work on the project. He did the best he could to glue the soap dish back to the wall and although the crack and repair are evident, it's functional and not the worst thing in the world.

I bought this service as a deal on Angie's List on July 3rd. George contacted my on July 6 and was able to come by on July 7th, so I was impressed with his responsiveness. We constantly have problems with our toilets running, and I have used several local plumbers and the problem always recurs. George was professional and gave us advice on how to minimize the problems we showed him. So far our toilet seems to be fine, so the new flapper solved the problem. I would use Elite Tech again if I have any further plumbing issues.
Description of Work: George checked out a toilet that keeps running and said we needed a flapper. He was able to pick one up and replace it within an hour of his arrival. He also looked at another toilet as well as a shower head and gave us advice on those. They did not need any immediate attention but George told us how to prevent any possible problems.

George's team did not complete everything for the job. The job took about 9 weeks total, although the estimate was 5 weeks. Part of the delay related to George's leaving in the middle of the project to go to Georgia (meaning the country) for three weeks. That meant I was in charge of his crew in the middle of a project. His crew members were not so capable on their own. George and his crew also often arrived late and left early. I asked security to monitor their start and end times. They didn't work 9:00-5:00, as they were supposed to. Another big issue was that George and his team were messy. The super told George to stop work at 4:30 and do a quick mop of the floor. They never did it once and tracked plaster and dirt throughout the hallways. When the handymen complained, George's crew tossed out money or barked back to shut them up. The super started complaining to me in writing via e-mail, which I didn't like, and the super and I decided we had to set an end date for George because he simply was too messy and taking too long. The super showed me other apartments where construction was taking place, and the crews were much cleaner. The workmanship of the crew was so-so. While my place looks tremendously better, the walls that they built were uneven in places. The attention to detail was sometimes weak. I visited the site everyday and pointed out any problems, as the crew worked. I was told everything would be fine in e the end, but it wasn't. The crew wasn't clever with projects.: George built me new radiator covers, but they are annoyingly difficult to remove if I ever want to change to setting for heat. What annoyed me most was that George was so often oppositional -- to the point where he was disageeable, even when we agreed. So overall, my place looks much better than the wreck that I purchased. I can say that I'm generally happy with the overall look, but annoyed by details that could have been corrected quite easily. But the process was a tremendous headache, and the crew was difficult to work with at times.
Description of Work: George (aka Besik Menabde) expanded my kitchen, retiled my bathroom, and skim coated and/or installed new dry wall on my walls, in addition to priming and painting my one bedroom apartment. The place, which was a wreck, looks much better.

Response from Elite Tech Remodeling
Dear customer, i am not going to share any of your email or text massages but briefly want to remind what job was estimated for and what you were asking for at the end. I did way to many favors that unfortunately i got bad review of not doing more and more favors. I will list extra "favors" and let the readers of this review be a judge: At the beginning week i invited customer to my truck and took shopping because customer did not know much about shopping for materials and stores were far from the apartment, got to the store hauled a cart full of tile, thinset, etc. Paid a man to load in the pick up all the stuff and all these services and expenses were not estimated in the contract but i felt very happy doing it for my first time customer and was excited to see him happy. Right at the first visit for estimate i noticed doors were broken and in very bad shape almost falling apart and included in the estimate, which was later taken out of contract due to not having budget. However, it was about second week when place was shaping up, doors looked even worst and offered customer to buy at least simple but new doors and i would FOR FREE drive, pick up, custom fit in metal prewar frames, paint and pay garbage disposal. And again i felt happy that i did it, but that was the end of my excitement when customer told me that he actually thought that i would even pay for the doors and was unhappy with that. The kitchen installation was estimated in contract as literally kitchen installation nothing else, but i ended up with building extra pantry with door, 2 sets of parts of ikea kitchen cabinets, from which i had to part pick to put together a simple kitchen peace by peace. As far as been neat i will not take much time but i will only try to help someone to imagine at the construction site where floors sanding was part of it having unwanted 6'x8 2 bookshelves, stove, 2 sets of kitchens, panels, drywall, tools, materials, working benches in 2 rooms and that was really disappointing that i was blamed for not been neat. I saved customer over 3000$. me and my guys taking days to go though ikea packaging and pick peace by peace to put together kitchen. Probably it would be better that i had told the customer to bring it with assembled or i would open every box and throw away the rest, but i did not and carefully number by number with my cellphone in my hand on ikea website surfing and finding out what name and number means which cabinet. ( I have not even got thank you for that) My estimate also did not include any plumbing, removal of 2 ACs paying garbage guy, picking up ACs, installing them, under the cabinet lights, deamers etc. And still did them just like everything else after my enthusiasm for making customer happy went away just because i looked at it as a business man who has to keep up with hard, easy and sometimes unreasonable customers. Despite of the above issues i did not abandon project, smiled at the customer, all of my guys thanked the customer and left in dignity, but i would never imagine he would have so much anger to us... I am sorry for such a big comment dear readers, but i hope you understand my frustration. We have been building a good reputation for many years and are doing everything to keep it so. Thank you! Sincerely, George Menabde

Our morning started with a call from "George" to let us know he was on his way. About 25 minutes later he arrived ready to work. It only took him15 minutes to assess the situation. It was amazing! Not only did he remove a sink that possibly had been hanging in that basement since the late 1930's, he was right on point with the recommendation to replace the valves. With the pipes falling apart in his hands working in a bathroom / laundry room less than 60 square feet, over 80 degrees, WITH NO AC, he finished in record time. He removed the old enamel sink to the back yard { heavy, heavy!} and removed the metal hardware that had held the sink on the wall. All the hardware for the sink he put together after doing a lot of trimming. And let me not forget the HUGE hair weasel he pulled out of the wall connection pipe. Yuck! You've got to admire that kind of dedication. { Granted, it wasn't my hair, but it is my house and I know I would have been hard pressed to deal with it!} George drained water, cut drywall and shimmed the cabinet practically hanging up side down with his magic tool bag. We have had plumbers work in the house before, and a few hours work was usually a days worth of clean-up. George cleaned up after himself. Without being told. Now I know who to call when the washer-dryer needs to be hooked up. Thank you George!

There are a few things that I will say about George (and he has a foreman who works for him, a young Russian guy...he's brilliant) that really set him apart from the other high end and normal contracts that i have used in the past: 1) He actually turns up on time, starts work on time i.e. he runs a business that works like normal businesses not like he is doing me a favour as per the norm in NYC 2) He actually keeps to schedule, he said a time-frame and twice has stuck to it 3) Most if not all of his employees and contractors are all Russian/ex Soviet and i strongly suspect they are massively over qualified. The two plumbers that turned up were clearly engineers by training. They did a great job. 4) With the little extra's he is great at organizing and recommending where to get them and what to spend money on and what not too So that is the pro's. His price is right, he does the job and he does it well. I do have to put the con's down or else the review is a bit disingenuous. They are really very small things and many of them i suspect are my fault and inexperience...not that i have written that i am trying to think of the cons and failing. If pushed I would say: 1) He gave me an invoice and i thought that would be it; however, i still needed to buy some hardware and had not factored that in. Again my fault just would have liked to know this upfront (also we are not talking about large sums c.$1k) 2) Thats really it, just a single con and its probably my fault Over all i would give him full marks and not only recommend using him again i am using him again for some more work.
Description of Work: I had George (and his team) completely renovate my bathroom and utility cupboard in my loft. This included: - Demolition of pre-existing layout (moving a door, and blowing out cupboards and ceilings...more than just replacing what was there - Installing plumbing that involved moving fixtures (again just an added level of complexity) - Tiling (floor and walls) - Assembling cabinets and installing shelving etc.

George showed up about 30 minutes late. I thought Ok, no biggie, if anything he seemed so friendly that I saw him coming late as a good thing that he was busy (so it seemed). Turns out I was wrong. Geeorge reconfirmed the $100/hr price and estimated 8-9 hrs of work. Then George called his "co-worker"/friend who "happened" to be waiting in the "van" somewhere outside. Ok, COOL! 2 guys, figured they'd be done sooner and if anything better for me. Turns out I was wrong here also. They ran through our place like a tornado. Tools everywhere, dirty hands, touching walls and leaving bring marks all over, ignored the VERY SIMPLE instructions on how we wanted a few items hung. These guys just wanted to be done and get out ASAP. If the work too small of a job that would've been fine if he had just told me that from the beginning. This is what I speculate this was an issue on his end. The work George and his guy did was the lack-luster, careless, sub-standard, rushed and unprofessional work I've ever encountered in my life. Long story short- he stained our Paul Smith "LOVE" needle point art. The fan light and speed doesn't work and hasn't since about 2 hours after they left. One of our floating shelves in the living room was not installed right (its IKEA lol) and fell off the wall breaking 6 glass vases from a collection of many that my partner and I purchased from a glass sculptor we like at Barney's. Irreplaceable and of course very valuable and sentimental. As mentioned above, the TV is now off the wall and we have yet had the time to reinstall it- so it sits, taking up space in an already small apartment and is useless at the moment. Every single winter Coat rack and closet hooks have failed out of the dry wall (no proper reinforcement at all, and no drilling into any brick behind the dry wall to make it more sturdy as promised). Our track lighting works when it wants to, the dimmer George installed only works about 50% of the time. Lastly, the Jonathan Adler brass urchin wall art was hung opposite of how we asked them to do it. I actually was being them when they were holding it up and I said where to mark it (It's clear how it's supposed to be hung) but they still ignored our wishes and when i left to get them gatorade, snacks, food and water they had hung it backwards. They finished in 6 hours, I gave George $600 hourly wage as negotiated and in addition tipped he and his friend $100 each. Total $800. Had they done good, reliable, professional, thorough job that would be worth it to us. About 3-5 days after George and his buddy were here my partner and I started noticing all kinds of things that weren't working with the electrical stuff (I'm currently looking to find out if he was licensed as an electrician at the time). Also we noticed the TV screws for the wall track were totally uneven and one side was only drilled in halfway. Also the mess they left was as if a carpenter had been just setting up his workshop in the middle of our apartment. Our needle point is forever stained and ruined. SO, I called George to ask him to stop back by at some point when he had time just to look back over the electrical and reinforce the TV. He mad plans to come that following Monday at 9am. HE ACTUALLY MADE THE APPOINTMENT! I was thinking this guy is going to stand behind his work. Well, I was WRONG AGAIN. HE DIDNT CALL, NO SHOW, I wasted my whole morning waiting around trying to call him. TWO DAYS LATER THIS GUY GEORGE FINALLY ANSWERS MY CALL AND SAYS, "SORRY MAN I'M TOO BUSY AND I HAVE NO TIME TO COME BACK....EVER." I told him how disappointed I was, my partner was/is devastated that we paid all that money for pretty much no reason. It's all fallen down or pulled out of the dry wall. THIER HANDY WORK- VERY BASIC WORK -compared to someone who mostly deals with renovations and/or very detailed contracting jobs- DIDN'T EVEN LAST 5 days. EVEN TODAY ANOTHER SHELF in the bedroom fell off the wall. It just reminded me of how angry I am that he wouldn't even take the time to stop back by and have the integrity and customer service to fix what we paid him to do properly. BAD MOVE HIRING THIS GUY! Be careful, he's charming and funny but he'll take your money and you'll never see him again. THE WORST SERVICE IN ANY FIELD FROM ANY SERVICE IVE EVER BEEN PROVIDED WITH. EVER!!!!!!! And I tipped them very generously considering the way the blasted in and out of here. Now we are back to square one trying to find a trustworthy, reliable handyman who can do good solid work. Time is no issue. I just want quality. Funny how all the good reviews this guy has are from HUGE JOBS. I SEE HOW HE RUNS HIS BUSINESS...... You pay for a big service you get good service. Small jobs, you're wasting your money.
Description of Work: Please allow me start by saying I'm not one to complain and I'd especially never take the time to give somebody's business a bad review. In this case, it IS absolutely necessary. I hope any and everybody will think twice before hiring George and or anyone from Elie Tech to do perform any services, handy jobs, renovations, construction and DEFINITELY for even the simplest of electrical duties. My partner and I hired George mid September of 2014 after finally settling into our west village apartment. We had moved from LA, so not knowing anyone for good referrals I saw some of the positive reviews George had on his page and called him up right away. He was very enthusiastic to do the job! $100 per hour for 2 guys to work and do all the handy stuff we needed done. These duties included all of the following: Hanging a brass Jonathan Adler urchin sculpture on the wall. Hanging a rectangular 42"x 18" mirror with flat panel screw in clips to keep it flush. Installed 4 hooks in the center of our closet way up high (promised that they were reinforced) Installed 3 Large 8" long heavy duty coat hooks in our hallway (promised they were drilled into the brick behind the wall) Replaced basic single bulb light in kitchen ceiling with a small white ceiling fan which included a larger light cover and switch with dimmer and remote. A glass, stained glass hanging mobile was hung in the living room ceiling. 2 wooden floating shelves- already custom made (we provided all the hardware to properly install it). Hung a small Tiffany stained glass chandelier out of light fixture in the center ceiling of our living room. Replaced basic single bulb ceiling light with Home Depot track lighting kit which included 5 fixtures that could be re-directed to light different areas of the entry way if need be. Hung a $3500 Large framed 48"x 48" Howard Bussmann painting. Hung a family art piece by Jim Dine, framed, lightweight and mid sized. Hung a $4,200 Large Paul Smith "LOVE" needle point art piece 48"x48" - we asked that he be very careful to not touch the front of this art (his hands were quite dirty). Welp, he left a nice large hand print on the corner of it as a parting gift. Hung a $5,000 Rex Rey art piece, very easy to hang and we provided all the hanging supplies. Hung a handmade yellow feather head dress from Cameroon. Another very expensive piece. Installed 4 More custom made floating shelves in the bedroom (hanging supplies provided) Drilled in the tracking for our flat screen HD brand new 72" Panasonic TV AND hung the TV (the screws were put in crooked, flash forward to now-we've had to take the TV off the wall b/c the screws holding the track on the right side was stripping through the drywall causing the TV to almost fall off) Installed 2 hanging shop style accent lamps from floor (through ceiling reinforcement loops which we provided) to the ceiling and left hanging at low enough levels that we use them as reading lights on each side of the bed. Hung a very small, 3 lb, wooden mirror which we had customized with gold leafing and an aged treatment to the mirror.

Response from Elite Tech Remodeling
Hello, i was not going to post an answer to this nonsense but i will. After and before this customer our company has done hundreds of jobs, big or small... How is it possible that only this customer was so upset? One thing i can remember is that they had lots of damaged goods from CA, literally things were coming out damaged and shipping company did not pay for damages. So i guess i am next to be asked for false claims. This review is so wrong and unfair, but people reading it will judge it's wright and wrong. Thank you! George

We hired George for the second time. He came with two members of his great team. I’m not surprised that he continues to be amazing. My tenants moved out in May and left my apartment in a condition that needed some touch-ups. For example, he had Dennis and Alex take care of some spots on the ceiling and fix a few cracks on the walls before they were sanded and painted. My closet doors weren’t working properly. Dennis, took care of them in no time. A couple of windows kept coming down and they needed adjustments. Once again, Dennis took care of them. Dennis was very knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant to talk to. Alex came the first time too. Both of these gentlemen are very hard-working and have excellent work ethics. They would do everything they can to please you. Dennis did a final walk-thru to make sure nothing was left out. Alex even swept and washed the floor. You tell me - aren’t they great? George also helped me change the shower body. Every night, when my ex-tenants took a bath, it would make an unbelievably loud sound – very annoying. George came one day, turned the water on and immediately told me where the problem was. It used to drive the people above and below my tenants’ floor crazy because it was LOUD. George is the kind of contractor who has great instinct. He could let you know what’s going on without even needing you to finish explaining. I feel that he truly has the special talent needed for the kind of work he does. That is what makes him better than other contractors out there. I cannot sign off on this without thanking George for stopping by last night (Tuesday, June 23, 2015). One of the steps in the hallway was making an extremely loud cracking sound every time we stepped on it. My wife and I were concerned. After I sent George a message, he called me within a few minutes. He offered to come by right away. It was after 9PM. He hadn't even returned home from work. One can imagine how very tired he must be. However, he did us this huge favor by stopping by and putting our minds at ease.
Description of Work: Changed shower body. Fixed cracks on the walls, sanded and painted. Fixed closet doors, windows, doorlocks etc...
