I am a landlord and my tenant was experiencing problems with both AC units. The company who I've used ignored multiple messages. It was the first very hot days of the summer. I know they probably has a lot of calls but they never even returned a call. I felt like I had to use them because one of the units was purchased from them. It cost 3200.00 and was already on the fritz. It was still under warranty. I finally felt i had to do something to help my tenant cool off. Icalled Besco. They answered on one ring!! Hallelujah. I believe it was a cell phone. The man was very polite and agreed to come over within the hr. he fixed one unit on the spot but recommended after looking at the newer unit that we deal directly w the guys who installed. He explained that since it wasn't a simple thing he didnt want to touch it because the warranty could be voided. I appreciated that advice. He charged $125 which I thought was reasonable in light of his quick response. My tenant was thrilled to get at least one AC working.

Mr. Villanueva was responsive, knowledgable and very helpful. He ran around the city half the day looking for the right part and offered great input on this repair and potential issues in the future. He offered several options on how to deal with this repair and walked me through the costs associated with each.

BestCo General Electrical Inc were good. We didn't use them because it was a previous company that had messed up so we just called them to do it. They were courteous and thorough.

Mr. Villanueva was completely responsible and competent, arrived on time, explained what he proposed to do and completely the work expeditiously.

My husband noticed a leak in the air handler. Bestco was there within two hours and fixed They have made other repairs to the system in the last two years and I have found them responsive and reasonably priced.

I needed this in a hurry. Bestco owner came himself within one day. He warned that cleaning might not solve my problem. (It didn't: The problem was my circuit breaker, as he said it might be.) Very nice, professional, honest, knowledgable, good communication. Incredible to find all this at a decent price in Manhattan.

I spoke to Elias and he seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. We made arrangements for him to come over and look at our AC units. He canceled the day before and then after multiple calls and texts never bothered getting back to us to reschedule. I decided to go with People's choice...cheaper and responsive!

Initially Mr. Villanueva, who is a smart person, appeared reasonably respectful. In my opinion I had the impression that he treated me as if I was an unintelligent person. Between the first diagnostic visit and the second visit he realized he had left his earphone piece in my home, which I carefully kept for him and gave it back on the second visit. On the third visit he asked me for the earphone piece. I was confused and perplexed and asked him ; "are you sure I did not give it to you? . Since he insisted I had not, I went to check again. The piece was not in the same place I had originally kept it. I asked him again are you sure I did not give it to you?. I questioned simply motivated by my confusion and perplexity. I frankly had no other intention . He then reacted angrily and in no uncertain terms he tried to accuse me of something that is still unclear to me. However his disproportionate anger was clear and very concerning to me. I was shaken. He realized I am a doctor, and when I paid him what he charged me, he said, "I charge like a doctor". And in an unsolicited fashion, he went on to telling me of another case of a doctor whom he had charged $5000. I had made no issue of his charges; I simply paid him immediately what he asked me for. When I asked him for a receipt, he angrily said, he had given it to me. He had not given it to me; that was why I was asking. I said we would not agree on this one and I wished for a receipt. He asked me for my email address, and I am still waiting. My husband called him two days later to request a receipt, and he did not return the call. This is one situation where the person seemed competent, but in my opinion his unprofessional attitude, which included poor memory, angry demanding attitude and unsolicited and unnecessary comparison with doctors fees, leads me to never again call Bestco for service. I would not recommend the service to a friend or relative. I had originally-- after the first visit, --asked for him for possibility of servicing a family member's A/C. After the unpleasant incident described, I called Mr. Villanueva to let him know family member was not interested. I did not give the reasons. An appointment had not been set up or confirmed

Elias was very friendly and his assistant was careful with our furniture and other possessions. I gave the over all B rating because I felt that the area around the working sites wre not cleaned up after the installations. The quality of the work and installations of the units was first-rate. I would work with Bestco again, with the caveat that they be more careful about the clean up around the work area.

Our previous heating maintenance contract was bleeding us for cash but providing few services. Since we hired Elias for a variety of heating and boiler related issues, the problems have been fixed. I am confident that the year to come will be less eventful and that the heating and circulation systems he fixed and installed will work well.

The price was a little more, but the service was really good. He really cared about finishing his work well, and even came back and did something, and that was worth it to me. The thermostat’s the only thing we have to still work out. He wants to charge $250 for the thermostat. That’s a little too much, but I know he will do a perfect job because he will test the line to see if something’s shorted out. He did that with the boiler, which was really good. He found there was something that was pulling too much electricity, which is why the boiler had burned out. He got to the thing that was causing a problem, replaced it, and did a good job. He’s a little pricey, but very thorough. He gives me a price beforehand. He comes in and doesn’t charge me for the estimate. He tells me what he thinks the problems are, and then more or less what I should expect to pay. That works out very well. He stuck to his price too. He told me he’ll sometimes go over the price if there’s more to it than what he initially saw, but he’s pretty good. I’ve been in construction before, and I know prices have gone up. Some people had done some work on the boiler before but it hadn’t worked properly and kept blowing over. He managed to find the problem. He purchased new parts and put them in properly. He put in a drain for the boiler which no one else had done or recommended. Water in the boiler has to keep circulating. That was part of the problem, because the boiler has to be kept clean. He really does a classy job. Other people may think he’s pricey, but I think it’s really a saving in the long run, because the boiler will not break down or get burned out because there’s debris going through the water. He’s very responsive. He came over on the date he gave me. Considering he had to get here from a different part of the city, his punctuality was okay. He calls when he’s running a little late to let me know when he’ll be there. He’s a little brusque, but he does stop to explain things to me if I ask him. He’s work minded. He said to call him if we have any problems with the boiler. I’ve already called him. If it’s a problem related to his work, then he’ll do it free of charge. Another plus for him was that I had called about three or four people who are local, and he was the first to respond. You don’t have too many of them that will come to the Bronx. There are some that will come from the Bronx, but from Nassau County and so forth, they have to schedule a visit here and then they have to pay for the visit if you’re not there. This guy was very good and he was very accommodating too.

Elias was fantastic. He always arrived promptly for appointments and was super diligent about making sure the problem was thoroughly fixed. He was knowledgable, helpful, and trustworthy and I would recommend him to anyone.

Mr. Villanueva was courteous, punctual and efficient. He brought an assistant, diagnosed the problem, located the relevant repair part (a new capacitator) and fixed the unit the same day. Excellent service! I would certainly recommend him to others.

Very responsive and responsible. Returned my calls promptly and came on time. Explained everything before proceeding. This was a remarkably positive experience.

Great experience. Advised me about the pros and cons of keeping my existing a/c units. Got them working as efficiently as they can. Will definitely use him to install new units and service in the future. DIdn't want to charge us anything - not even for his time - he reluctantly accepted a tip.

I measured window top to bottom opening incorrectly! (don't assume the size of the glass is equal to the minimum opening dimensions). He made the window larger. I couldn't figure out which window AC support to purchase, he purchased the right one himself and installed it at no extra charge. My old one was removed and carted. No mess. No hassels. Always there for me, even days before via phone and emails to answer Qs. My place is tiny and cramped, there wasn't even room to open the box the unit came in so he had to use exterior hallway just to get it out of its box. Even less space is in front of my window. He and assistant fit themselves into 2ft space to work side by side to complete all the screwing and window modification tasks, quietly and without even sweating! Eleazer and helper are neat clean punctual, knowledgeable and OUTSTANDING in every way. I even have him coming back for the dangest reason ever. If you live in an apt bldg, units above your AC will drip water in TORRENTS down on your unit. Well my old AC was plastic and that sound was no bother. The new unit is all metal and the sound of water pouring onto it, is no romantic pitter patter on a tin roof melody. It is instead a keep you awake all night long Calypso drum banging that's horrible! They are going to try to apply solid foam (or something) above the AC so that water hits a non noise making surface instead of CLANGING on and down into my air conditioner. One more hassle of high rise living you may or may not know of to keep in mind if you are considering moving from a private home to a multi unit dwelling. (running AC when it isn't even hot is the main cause of this). In any case I told Eleazar and he offered to rush to help me. Didn't say how stupid or weird a thing this is, nope not at all, without even concern for payment he offered to come right away and figure out a way for me to get some sleep (and that incl moving furniture for me this time). I hope to leave NYC in months but I'd actually rather not all because of this firm! He didn't ask but 20-30% tip is easily deserved by this team.

He was punctual. I thought the price was fair, and he took care of the job. I was happy.

Work itself was fine. The contractor was a pain to work with. Did not return phone calls or emails and did not complete the job. It's been 2 months since things have been ready and he still hasn't had the gas meter unlocked yet. He is arrogant and over priced. He was very slow and caused us serious delays in the overall project.
