This is the second time (and the third time) I have used these movers. The first time, two years ago, I was very impressed by the organization and empathy of the guy in charge. The other guy was a fine grunt, no problems, but this one guy was awesome, took care of everything I asked just like I wanted, as I was busy reserving the rental space. this was only a move from one storage area to another, but I was impressed. This time I had a complicated move. The guy from last time was gone, so I was bummed, but Julia and Michael were so sweet and responsive to my emails that I felt better. They wanted a very exact description of everything that I was moving, and I simply couldn't get it to them, because I hadn't packed yet, and it was several moves. Finally they agreed to a flat rate of $100 an hour. This was special and they won't do it for you! Still that's a lot for me, so I decided to save money by having cheapo grunts ($60 per hour) for the easy move-- storage area to spare room-- and have these guys for the complicate move-- my apartment and my boyfriend's apartment to my new place. Well of course the cheapos cancelled at the last second. Believe it or not, College Educated Movers was able to help me on half a day's notice!! That move went smoothly, and took less time than I thought it would. Both guys were friendly, and the conversation in the truck on the long ride to Jersey City was interesting. The next day, the complicated move took much longer than I had estimated- my fault entirely. They were quick and I can't believe how much stuff they expertly packed into that truck. The move was from a 4th floor walkup and a 6th floor walkup, and there was nary a complaint. They were totally cool about all the extra stuff that I hadn't expected my boyfriend to own!! I offered to give them a bite on my dime and time and they refused. That was nice of them. Again the conversation was enjoyable in the truck, and the guys were so patient with all of my wants and indecisions. By the way the $1000 includes the $100 total of tips and tolls. Moving isn't cheap, but if you want a much more pleasant and trustworthy experience, I recommend this company. I see in a few reviews on yelp! that they forgot a few things- although with me they were perfect about this, I guess you ought to keep track of your own stuff!! Kudos to these guys. Thanks a lot!!
