Description of Work: Bottomline: The company had poor follow-up, was late to our appointment and never follwed up after our estimate. After I followed up multiple times, the owner said "There is not much we can do. You should get a handyman" since the job was to install benches along the walls of my store which really meant the job was not big enough for him and he didn't want to take it. That I guess explained the lack of follow-up after the estimate but not prior or him and team showing up late. And it was very unprofessional to waste my time for weeks if they thought the job was not big enough, he could have told me that on site or when I called to follow-up the 1st time. The only reason I persisted in contacting and following up with them was due to the reviews by others on this site. Next time I will go with my gut since they were flaky from the start.

custom cabinets
+ -1 moreI contacted Manuel re: making two custom kitchen cabinets. I email and call him several times and it took him several days to either return my calls or emails. I mention that I was willing to meet him in his shop in the Bronx but he always put excuses of why we couldn't meet my husband and I at his shop. Then, I mention I could meet him in Manhattan, but when Manuel gave us the option of two days to meet in person, he never call me back to confirm the date and location. I never heard from him again.
Description of Work: Never started because he never schedule an appt. to meet in person, Manuel always had too many excuses. Very unprofessional, he didn't return phone calls on timely manner.

+ 1 moreI cannot speak highly enough of the Center of Woodwork. The quality of the craftsmanship was excellent, and all the people who came were very courteous, tidy, and paid attention to every little detail. I have a small studio apt., and had started the job several months ago with a contractor who ended up leaving for 6 weeks, right after the demolition of the kitchen. He also ordered wrong kitchen cabinets. I terminated the contract, and then interviewed numerous kitchen contractors and looked for semi-custom and custom cabinets. I had designed cabinets to best utilize my small space, and most people said they couldn't be made, a corner sink wouldn't fit, or they wanted to charge up to $38,000(!). I was using Angie's list as well as several personal recommendations to find contractors. Then, near the pit of despair, I saw a truck parked in the neighborhood with the words "Center of Woodwork". I decided to give them a call. The work was above all expectations in every way.
Description of Work: Custom Kitchen Cabinets, with built-in spice rack and wine rack; custom entertainment stand/DVD holder/secretary desk. Installed cabinets. Also general contracting work described elsewhere.
