 + -1 moreI could always reach them either by phone or e-mail. They were punctual in getting back to me and delivering the merchandise. I wish all providers performed in the same manner. They are amazing. Family-run business. On the day of delivery the two brothers and father installed everything quickly and neatly. Really impressive. The quality of materials, labor, service was well worth the cost. I had purchased new window rods for living room and bedroom, plus new custom made mini shades in both rooms. Also in bedroom new draperies - living room, updated draperies. I also had a custom-made headboard.

Description of Work: This is the second time I have worked with Robert and his brother. They are so wonderful to work with. A few years after installing Roman shades in my condo, they came to my co-op and measured all the windows, for which they created shades, wood blinds or drapes. As usual, they were punctual, polite and professional and I will definitely call them for new projects in the future.

 + -1 moreEverything about my experience with Jan Brulhardt was excellent. He is a good communicator and always responded quickly to my queries.
Description of Work: I found Jan on Angie's list and called to get an estimate for re upholstering two antique wing chairs. I was given a fair estimate and decided to give them the job. I also asked how long it would take because I had to leave town for 6 weeks. I proceeded to order the fabric from another source that took far longer than we had expected. When the fabric finally arrived at the workroom I feared that there wouldn't be enough time to finish the chairs. But Jan made a promise and kept it. The chairs arrived in my apartment 4 days before I had to leave and they are absolutely gorgeous! They really did a great job. Thankyou Jan Brulhardt!

 + -1 moreJan promptly retunred my initial call and we scheduled a time for him to come and view the furniture. He provided a quote within 24 hours and we agreed on the scope and price. He then sent me to chose fabrics and ordered fabric. When it arrived, we scheduled the time for him to come and pick up the furniture. Within 4 weeks (as scheduled), he returned my completed furniture, which looked beautiful. He was always professional and I would use him again.
Description of Work: Reupholstry of 6 dining chairs, 2 wing backed chairs and one couch.

 + 0 moreMr. Brulhardt always arrived on time, did fabulous work and, thanks to him the chair is perfect. I cannot recommend him too strongly.
Description of Work: I used Mr. Brulhardt's services several time for my Eames chair. These were (1) repair a tear in the leather on one of the arms, (2) repair the horrible work done by Prestige Furniture and Design Group of Woodside, NY, Prestige reupholstered the Eames chair and (3) repair and install a button which fell off of the chair. Mr. Brulhardt arrived on time, did fabulous work and, thanks to him the chair is perfect. I cannot recommend him too strongly.

 + 1 moreI found Brulhardt on Angie's List, called and made an appointment. Jann Brulhardt came and gave us an estimate and ordered the fabric. He couldn't have been nicer or more professional. The couch was taken out, refurbished, reupholstered and returned - on time, on budget and to our satisfaction. The chairs and chair cushions came back - on time, on budget and to our satisfaction. It was a wonderful experience and I would use them again in a minute.

I gave them a complicated piece of material and and they matched it up so well, the chair looks like a piece of art. They even voluntarily made me a pillow because Mr. Bruhardt felt the chair needed it. He was right and did not charge me extra. It is unusual to find craftsmanship and service of such quality.

 + 0 moreWe were comfortable having the work done in pieces...less disruption to the home. They worked well with our schedule and we are very happy with the outcome.
Description of Work: 6 dining room chairs with elegant, old upholstry that we didn't want to loose needed to have the springs in the seats retied and the padding replaced...the work was amazing...the chairs are now very comfortable and look great...the upholstry was preserved. Window treatments were done for 6 rooms...from re using existing pieces to making new. All work and the installations went very smoothly.

 + -1 moreHe was perfectly polite and very nice. He followed it up with a written estimate, but it was very pricey and also the company was far away. So I chose a neighborhood company. He was a very nice man and I have no complaints. He came shortly after I called him to give me an estimate, maybe within 3 or 4 days. It was a shade curtain for a window in the living room that's an angle window. There is a long window and then there is a narrow one just around, so it looks like an L.
Description of Work: The person from Brulhardt came over to do an estimate for a window treatment.

 + -1 moreThey were very, very good and were professional. They did an excellent job making and installing the window treatments and I would most certainly recommend them. They are not very cheap but you definitely get what you pay for; good service and good design. The approximate cost did not include the fabric but does include everything else.
Description of Work: I had a difficult problem with an odd shaped window that I needed to have treatments to block out light. Rob Brulhardt came to my home, took measures and then we collaborated on a design that would meet my needs. He was very creative and thoughtful and the whole experience was great!
