Apex Mold Specialists NY NJ CT

Apex assessed the air and mold on the wall of our bedroom. They used touch, swab and infrared technology to determine the amount of affected area. In a reasonable turnaround (48 hours) we received a detailed report on the type of mold found and the amount that was detected on the wall and in the air. The cost for the inspection was $500 which I think is high BUT it is comparable to their competitors. They quoted approx $1400 for the inspection and remediation. The $500 was deducted from the $1400 to complete the job. Two months later I had them come back to complete the job. They asked us to leave the apartment for at least 3 hours while the work was completed. There is a chemical that they put on the wall to kill any residual mold and they removed the molding and sheet rock in the affected area. A machine to dry the sheet rock was left on for 24 hours in the room. They came and picked it up. I was disappointed that we were left with an open wall of Sheetrock in our bedroom without prior warning that this might be the case. I don't understand why a company that does remediation does not also "finish" the job with reparation of small jobs like this sheet rock mending. We have approx 3 inches wide and 10 feet long of exposed insulation which is concerning for us in our bedroom and our 2 cats. The owner of Apex was swift to respond to our inquiries and present for each appointment alongside his staff who did the hands on work. He gave us a one year guarantee. Hopefully the mold is remediated appropriately. We'll have to have our walls sealed after the holidays :-/

Most vendors charge per room for air samples, as did these guys.. it can really add up, so we only sampled two areas and they came back with a full assessment, pictures, mold types present, and estimates for next steps. It's clear that they are pushing to sell us on expensive remediation, which we didn't buy. We decided to first buy a dehumidifier, fix mold issues in sheetrock, and make sure all leaks etc are handled. THEN, we might bring these guys back in to test again. If the mold levels are still high, we'll opt for the ultra expensive fixes. Overalll, the service was great, however it was very clear they were amped to sell and that made me a bit wary. I'd still recommend them as specialists though.

Our office had a musty smell and clients started to complain about the odor as well. We called Apex after reading the great reviews they have. The service was completed as promised and the staff was very professional. They technician from Apex found the mold hiding behind a cabinet in the back area of the office. They came a few times until the work was thoroughly completed. The mold was completely removed and the odor disappeared completely. We are glad that we can continue to operate our business. Great mold removal service and customer service as well.

They returned my call promptly and were flexible working around my schedule, the technician was actually able to come the same day. David arrived when said he would. He was professional and knowledgeable. He performed several tests. We were hoping for mold to be found in the walls so we could make an insurance claim, a job that would cost a lot of money to remedy - we told David all this. He sat and explained the tests, process and what he saw and felt the results would be. We got the PDF emailed to us promptly, in the time frame promised. The tests did not show mold in the walls as we had hoped, quoted remediation costs to be $1,500 with the price of the testing figured in and deducted. While we were hoping for a serious issue, I more then respect that they were honest and did not try to tell us the issue was more than it really is. They could have easily said we needed the walls torn out and we would have been none the wiser (obviously we would have gotten a second opinion in that case we are not idiots). While spending $500 is painful, it is the same price that several other companies gave me, within $50 of the cheapest. All in all a positive experience, in large part to David.

I called this company because I thought I could have mold in my basement. The company is great. Showed up on time and called beforehand to let us know they were coming. Completed complete home mold inspection. They came with high tech equipment and took air readings. David answered any questions that I had and was very professional. I had no mold in my home and I am confident they did the check up correctly. I will definitely use them again in the future if I ever have mold problem.

The smell in the basement alerted us that there must be a problem. A neighbor who used Apex recommended that I give them a call for a free evaluation. The crew arrived shortly after I called to a**** the damage and explain what needed to be done. After completely inspecting my basement with their infra red camera, they found that the smell was coming from a broken pipe behind the wall. They came equipped to start the work the same say. The crew worked all day and decontaminated the entire area and left dehumidifiers and air scrubbers to run for a few days to remove the bad odor. The service performed by Apex in my basement was prompt, professional and reasonable!

He did not do the tests right. I had to have my husband go outside while he was leaving and have him come back to do the whole house. I did get the test results. Based on my doctor and another contractor we found out that the treatment he wanted to do was not appropriate. We found out that the test results were incorrect. It was much more severe. He just wanted to put a dehumidifier in the basement. We found out from another specialist that we would have to take down walls and treat from the inside.

Apex did an excellent job - we had a somewhat unusual situation as we were out of town on an emergency, and had to get the work done quickly because we were soon closing on the sale of the apartment. David and his crew were very understanding of our situation, very responsive, and accommodating to our special circumstances. (They had to meet up with our broker and various neighbors from our co-op to gain access to the apartment and complete the work, etc.) They came to examine the apartment the day after I first contacted them, and were able to finish the work over four days, even working over the weekend without additional charge. I also appreciated that David gave me the Angie's coupon discount of $150, even though I didn't realize it was offered. I would definitely recommend this company (which I found through Angie's List) as both extremely professional, and yet small enough to get personal service.

From the initial consult to the mold removal, David and his crew were punctual, efficient and professional. Eventhough i had black mold in my attic, David's lab did not try to fool me by saying that it was dangerous mold, but rather they were honest and informed me that it was just a garden variety nontoxic mold. I feel confident that the mold in our attic has been removed.

It was $400 to do the inspection for the mold. The guy was good. I just thought he was too expensive in my opinion. Overall, the guy was nice and very detailed. He provided like a 100 pages of documents that I didn't even look at because I wouldn't understand it. I didn't follow through on it because I wasn't going to pay $2000 just to kill the mold. I found someone else that will kill it and paint. I can't really recommend them at this point because in my opinion I thought he was too expensive. People don't really provide 100 pages of documents, which people don't really look at 100 pages of documents. I want to get to the ultimate problem. He said he thinks I have a molding problem in my basement and in order for me to fix it I need to find the root cause of the molding. I think in that aspect, he's right in saying so. It makes logical sense. I think it's a bit too tedious to give me 100 pages of documents to tell me I have a mold problem in my wall and I need to get to the root cause of the problem, in my problem. You shouldn't have to charge $400 for that, in my opinion. He was professional and detailed. He was a nice guy. He was there, available, and punctual. If I could find that the prices elsewhere are the same, I would use him. If I find the price is less for the same amount of service, I will not use him.

David came in a timely fashion to our appointment. He first visually inspected the area and then we sat down and discussed the plan for inspection. He made sure no one was having health issues and wanted to make sure the whole house was safe. David identified all areas of mold on the wall and completed the mold inspection with camera shots, infrared inspection, air sampling, sample swab, and outdoor testing. He then discussed how long I would wait for the results and the next steps. I felt comfortable and reassured by this service. David was professional, helpful, answered all questions, and also wanted to preserve as much wall possible during mold remediation. The service was also very efficient and thorough. David and an associate came to my home for a whole house inspection. They were on time and called about an hour before they were scheduled to arrive to let me know they were on their way. They were not just professional but also nice. I had them inspect areas of concern. The inspection did not take long and they were thorough. They used a machine that looked like a rod with a led light on the end. They found mold in one of the bedrooms and explained why. The estimate was between $1100 and $1500. He also told me the $99 fee for the inspection would go towards the work. This was a pleasant experience. I did not have them do the mold remediation only because my insurance company would not have covered the work but if I didn't have insurance I would have absolutely hired them. I would definitely recommend them.

He walked through and took pictures, then let me know a few days later that everything was absolutely clean and mold free. However, within a week we moved the fridge because we ripped up the tile floors to put down hardwood. We discovered that behind the fridge, the entire wall was black with mold--an area about 3'x5'. We had to entirely cut out that sheetrock and cleaned everything with bleach. It seems to me like a professional mold inspector would have known to check there and would have recognized the problem.
