They are very unreliable. They send a different person everytime. They dont pay their workers very well. They are cosntantly late and have a bad schedule.

The price included 3 hours of home cleaning. She was very courteous, and very nice. She was professional. She was clear about what can and cannot be done. For me personally, I would just do the work myself. I don't see anything they do as special. However, if I did not want to do the work, I would use them again.

I am disabled and in great pain and had to follow Tricia around the entire apartment repeating what I'd asked her to do and showing her where she missed clearly un cleaned areas. she also blatantly LIED about cleaning certain things because when I went into said room it was clear that she had not cleaned those items and I had to ask her AGAIN AND AGAIN to do it. I was in the bedroom )which was the last room done) with the door closed for most of the time- maybe she was sitting around doing nothing because if she was really working for 7 hours this apt would have beenbetter cleaned. no- 2 days later I am seeing more areas that she again clearly lied about cleaning and they are as filthy as they were before. she took a 20 minute break- which is fine- but I am not paying for her break and expected that she would stay 20 minutes later and at 3:40- 20 minutes before the official end time- she was packing up and ready to go and was going to hang around for 20 minutes. I noticed at that time more things that were still dirty and she did not catch on that I wanted her to fix it and I was getting very tired of repeating myself and stating the obvious. I signed her out for 4:00 just to get her out of here because I was so aggravated but I got screwed out of 40 MINUTES. she also unplugged my cable that I had to agonizingly get down on the floor to reconnect. she put an expensive decorative calf hair bowl in the sink and filled it with water completely ruining it and claimed it was in the sink already- total LIE! so in additional to shorting me 40 minutes, ruining my personal belongings, not doing a proper job, not knowing how to do the simplest of things like how to use a swiffer duster, how TO OPEN A BOTTLE OF LYSOL TOILET CLEANER and having to be checked on and told repeatedly how to do her job, lying, when I call to complain to someone named Ann Murray. I was dismissed and rushed off the phone, cut off mid sentence telling me "I get the gist of it" when there is no gist- rather specific screw ups that she should want to know if she wants to keep her business up and running- and basically rushed me off the phone saying she would get back to me the next morning and I have not heard from her. After that nightmare I started emailing "Al"- whoever the h*** he is I do not know. He finally agreed to reimburse me $54.44 in late charges that I paid for using a groupon a week late because I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL and repeatedly ignored the fact that the cleaner left 40 minutes early. this communication/complaint process started all on 10/26 and it is now 12/14 and I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE THE REFUND CHECK THEY SAID WOULD TAKE 5-7 DAYS FOR ME TO GET! THIEVES, LIARS, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!!! I literally email him EVERY SINGLE DAY and get no response. They ARE THE DEVIL!!!
Description of Work: was supposed to be a DEEP cleaning of a medium sized 1 BR apartment. I hired a cleaner for 7 HOURS! if I was not diabled I could have done it myself in 3. The entire thing was a fiasco and I am STILL waiting to get $ back which I will probably never see. They are rude and ineffective and i would not count on them to clean up dog crap.

This was the second time we booked a cleaning with Alpha Living. The first, a two-hour green cleaning was satisfactory. We booked the four hour cleaning through a special received on Groupon or Living Social. $90 for a four hour cleaning. The appointment was set for 2 p.m. on Thursday. The cleaning person did not arrive to the apartment until 4 p.m. I missed work to let her into the apartment and ended up missing 2 hours of office time, since the receptionist on the phone kept telling me the lady was on her way. As the appointment got later, I pressed, and the receptionist told me there was quite a bit of travel time from the last appointment she was on - but that she was on her way. This was obviously a scheduling error from the beginning that was trying to be corrected last-minute. Since it was getting late and we had paid for a 4-hour cleaning, I asked the central office to make sure that the person would perform the full cleaning time. I was assured that she would. After the two-hour wait, she finally arrived. I showed her the cleaning supplies and left. My wife arrived at the house 2 hours later and found nobody at the apartment. The lady left a note with her number which we called. She called back bewildered as to why we weren't happy with the service. We explained that we expected a four hour cleaning, that the bathroom was hardly touched, the sinks were not wiped down, the dusting was selective and the floors, which we thought would be mopped since we pulled out and showed her the items to use, were cleaned with only 2 (we knew how many were left) wet Swiffer cloths. The best thing about the service was the smell left, since the place was sprayed down with large amounts of Febreze. We were told the apartment was not that big and that she didn't see why she needed to be here for the full time. We called the office that night and left a message. Strangely, at 2 p.m. THE NEXT DAY, we received a call from a cleaning lady that she was here for her appointment. Obviously, the continuation of the scheduling problem. Over two weeks later, we have yet to hear from Alpha Living regarding this issue. Since it seems we will never speak, our suggestion is that despite the size of an apartment, cleaners can easily find more to clean in an apartment. If the extra effort (and full use of paid time) is not to be used, that at least the obvious issues like sinks, dusting and thorough floor cleaning should be attended to. There was lack of organization plus lack of quality. Most frustrating was the lack of professionalism on behalf of the company, which never addressed this issue. At least the cleaning lady had the guts to call us back when we left a message on her cell. She offered to come back and clean, but we declined.

Description of Work: I am sorry to have to write this, because in the lead up to the cleaning, I was treated very well - you were more than patient and courteous with me on the phone, which is hard to find anywhere, but particularly in New York. I am writing you first to explain to you what happened.Alicia (spelling) was certainly very nice, but in short, she left my house a mess.I asked her to concentrate on cleaning the house, and not the windows, (which I initially requested). She had four hours. When I returned, I knew that she had cleaned - the bathroom tub was clean and our hard wood floor mopped,She also left the house in disarray - there were wadded up paper towels left in a couple of places, dust balls which I guess she had not gotten to. 1a) In many areas where I think she intended to dust, she just left piles of dust. One of our keepsake photo albums was turned upside down and covered in dust on the bookshelf;1) The foot mat that we use to wipe our feet was left upside down on the futon. 2) Our vacuum cleaner was not functioning after her departure (there was a blockage in the line, which I had to get repaired). She did not mention this to me -(she did leave me a note, but failed to mention that the vacuum cleaner was not working). 3) In the area where we keep mail, which I did not ask her to clean, she turned upside down all of our papers and mail, and in all of the rooms and areas of the house, she had moved items, and failed to put them back where they belonged. As a result, I had to spend more than two hours literally putting my house back together after she left. I felt that four hours was more than sufficient time to do a basic cleaning, and I walked her around the house before hand - so she could have told me if there was something she could not or did not want to do. I would have much preferred she just clean part of the house instead of doing a very sub standard job throughout the house, and in fact leaving other areas dirtier and more cluttered than before.As background, I have had two other cleaning services, and did not have any complaints with them. I do not plan on using your service again, and certainly will not recommend it to friends. In short, as most people, one of the main reasons I hire help for cleaning, is for the peace of mind of knowing that it has been done well. I was not able to have that peace of mind - rather I am still looking around for all of the cleaning that remains to be done, and having to re-organize my house was extremely frustrating.

Great service, onetime and affordable... The staff is friendly and will work over your booked time if needed with out a problem... We found them in New York Magazine in June...
Description of Work: The ladies at Alpha provide great on time service, we love their online booking system and their line of green cleaning products. We now use them bi- weekly, you can even leave your keys at their office so they can clean when your not home or just on short notice. The ladies we have used are Jennifer and ms. Torese, they are affordable and very accommodating...
