+ -1 moreAlejandro was very responsive to phone calls and emails. I had previously engaged his services (about 2 years ago) on behalf of a friend and remembered how competent and personable he was. From time to time in the past, my system has performed sluggishly and at times would freeze and have to be rebooted. My current requirement was for a general review of the system, including suggestions on how to improve performance and what was needed to keep it safe and clear of unnecessary programs and data. I wanted a confirmation on the reliability of the software I was using for security and backups. Alejandro is clearly very knowledgeable and he communicates in a straightforward and lucid manner. I would certainly use his services again in the future and would be happy to recommend him to prospective clients.

+ -1 moreAlejandro was both professional and personable, and got the job done to a high standard in a reasonable amount of time. If it were possible I would give him a B+. The only things that kept me from giving him an A were: 1) that he forgot to bring the kind of hard drive that he needed to work on my computer, so had to take it home with him, thus prolonging the time I had to wait to get a working computer again. 2) that it cost more than I thought it would. To be fair, there was a range shown in his reviews, and I don't know enough about computers to accurately gauge the difficulty of my repair--I believe viruses were the root of the trouble. Also, I think I'm spoiled because my previous computer guy lived a few blocks away and was pretty darn cheap. I think it was probably because he had a day job and did it on the side, so it was both very easy for him to swing by, and consulting wasn't his only source of income. Although because I'm really strapped I'm going to try to find another person in the neighborhood who's cheaper, if I were not so broke I wouldn't hesitate to use him again, and if I don't get lucky in finding someone, I'll definitely use him again. He was capable, reliable, and easy to deal with. I would recommend him.
Description of Work: My laptop went into a semi-coma and Alejandro revived it!

+ -1 moreI bought a new hard drive and needed it set up and files transferred from the old one. Alejandro had previously answered my phone questions which made the purchasing decision easier. He did the install and transfer without a hitch. He was very professional throughout the process, even though it took a bit longer than either of us had anticipated. He answered questions for me (a non-techie) in a layperson's language. I would definietly use his service again.

+ -1 moreI was very pleased with Alejandro. He called when he was on his way over, knew what he was doing, was very professional and I Ifelt that I could call him if I had any further questions. And I think his prices are very reasonable.
Description of Work: My laptop had just stopped working. Alejandro immediately knew what the problem was. I needed a mouse and despite the fact that it was raining he went out and quickly bought one. He installed it, showed me how to use it and took time to answer all my questions.

+ -1 moreMy service here was terrible. Everything that they offered, and everything that they promised, they did not do. When I would call, they would put me on hold for up to 2 hours if I was willing to wait that long. They would transfer me endlessly with no results. I could hardly understand anything that they were saying either.

+ -1 moreAlejandro was responsive to my requests and questions and patient and determined in tackling the tasks (retrieval and transfer of files to my new computer and subsequent resurrection of my old computer) he undertook. At all times he was pleasant and reassuring in tackling those tasks. I am extremely pleased with his service and its outcome. His fee was very reasonable given the nature of the challenge, the amount of his effort, and the degree of success he achieved (full). I enthusiastically recommend him to others who experience computer crashes.
Description of Work: My five-year old desktop computer suddenly crashed and I contacted Alejandro Nunez of A2Z Tech Group, Inc. for help. He did a great job first retrieving the content on the hard drive of my five-year old desktop computer and transferring it to the hard drive of my new laptop computer. Then he brought my desktop computer back to life with a creative solution.

+ -1 moreAlejandro arrived on time, worked with the client to understand her requirements of the system that was to be moved. He disconnected a single PC from the network and helped move it to the new location a few blocks away. He then reinstalled the PC, encountered some problems (the system was set up to work on a network but needed to be redirected to the local c-drive for its data) and resolved them. His work was consistently knowledgeable and professional and his attitude was consistently helpful, pleasant, patient and attentive. The work was actually performed at the office and home of Dr. Will Grossman (office: 30 East 72nd Street; home: 165 East 72nd Street). I would not hesitate to recommend Alejandro to other clients and fully intend to call on him if (when) my own computer acts up.
Description of Work: Uninstalling a PC at one location (part of a network) and reinstalling it as a single-user PC at a separate location. Some unexpected problems arose and were handled efficiently and professionally.

+ 0 more7 It went very well. In the beginning I was nervous because I had virtually no experience using the computer as I had previously had a support staff no longer available to me. Alex was recommended to me by a friend who still uses his services. Alex has taken me through various stages of learning with patience and politeness and humor. Most of my work has to do with writing--from letters to press releases to various Word Documents. He set up all my programs, taught me the fundamentals of cutting, copying, pasting and taught me virtually everything I know to date. Of course, I have a lot more to learn and intend to keep on going. I think I am one of his most regular clients. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to a prospective client.
Description of Work: Alejandro Nunez took me from stage 1 beginner on computer and showed me the basic facets of operating a Toshiba Windows XP . He set up the printer. From time to time he updated the software, reconfigured programs, installed new router, spoke to me on the phone when I needed immediate help, visited me twice a week for lessons. I am still not totally computer literate but getting there because of his assistance and his availability during deadlines I had to meet.

I have recommended Alex to many of my business associates (I am in the satellite radio business) and personal friends. I have never heard back a complaint and I do know that he has helped another neighbor with computers in his office.
Description of Work: Back in the Fall I was having major computer problems. Even though i was using broadband internet access, I was having trouble signing on, downloading took forever, I was getting pop-ups all the time, and my relatively new computer was taking a long time to perform functions that had been easy and fast before I asked a neighbor in my co-op elevator, who i knew was savvy with the internet, what would he do. He told me that he knew a "computer guru" through his company who not only was dependable and professional, but whose rates were very fair! After getting the phone number, I called Alex at A2Z Tech Group. I explained my problems over the phone. He said he was going to be in my neighborhood (manhattan midtown east) the next day and he would be happy to look at my computer and repair if possible or recommend a new computer. He arrived promptly for our appointment, worked with my computer and told me exactly what was wrong, and that I did not need a new computer. Within 2 hours he fixed all of my computer problems, plus showed me how to install new firewall and security programs that were free. He finished the repairs, taught me a few more shortcuts, and installed the free security programs, all within the time we had agreed upon.

He begins by figuring out the problem and then solving it. I have recommended him to friends who agree that he is patient, thoughtful about understanding their particular needs and in teaching them how to deal with them
Description of Work: I first engaged Alex Nunez several years ago when my computer crashed. I tried getting telephone help from a help desk in India but I made no progress. When it occurred to me to ask someone who might know something, I called Alex. He brought my computer back to life. It is the sort of experience that makes one grateful forever. In the years since, Alex has never failed me. My problems have never been quite so total as they were the first time, but he has patiently and competently solved them. Upgrading the RAM, installing software, updating the operating system, installing and creating data backup software, printer trouble-shooting, installing Anti-Virus software,etc, he has kept my computer operational. In addition, he has taught me how to improve my use of the computer to accomplish ends that I have in view.

Description of Work: I am a professional musician who is not particularly savvy when it comes to anything related to technology. I have used Alejandro Nunez of A2Z Tech Group several times during the past year to tutor me on how to use my computer more effectively. A few days ago my computer started completely locking up at random times, preventing me for getting my work done. Alejandro picked up my laptop the same day I called him, was able to correct the problem at a reasonable cost and delivered it back to me the very next day. Now my computer is working great again.
