It didn't. He never returned my call to say if he could help me or if he could not.

They came to look at the issue fairly promptly, told me they would get back to me in "just a few short hours" with a price quote, then disappeared. The few short hours turned into days; I never heard back from them despite leaving three messages over the course of three days. If they didn't wish to do the job they should have been honest with me instead of wasting my time and leaving me with a leaky appliance for days. Very unprofessional.

Grest, not only did he diagnose the problem and fix it, he also cleaned out the filter and explained what he was doing as he went.

Nick Sr. was very honest on the phone when I told him my 20-old machine needed repair. He said he didn't think it was worth fixing and I shouldn't waste my money. My machine was working fine until I loaded it with about 15 soaking wet towels, so I took the chance of paying the diagnostic fee, which is credited to the repair job, if completed. Though he didn't have the part, Nick Jr. came one hr. later and finished replacing one broken belt. One replaced belt and a long-needed tune-up and my gas dryer has been working like new for the past few months. What I paid for the repair, was much less than buying a new dryer, especially since I don't use it as often as I did when my kids were home. Nick Jr. also replaced the venting kit (I had the slinky part). Overall. A+ service. I had used Nick's in the past and will keep using them in the future.

I could not have been more impressed with Nick's response, professionalism and eagerness to help - even when it resulted in me fixing the issue and avoiding him having to come on a service call. Nick's desire to help (even at the expense of forgoing a visit), instilled trust in him, and ensures that I'll call him again should we have another appliance issue. Succinctly, the igniter on our stove started to fire while I was at work and our babysitter could not turn it off, so the fired department was called. They eventually unplugged the stove and turned off the gas. When I callled and spoke with Nick to set up a service appointment for the following day, he explained how that can commonly happen and suggested a few things I check out to see if the stove was working again too. I got it working again after getting home and was able to avoid the cost of a service call from NIck as a result. I know a fair amount of repair services would have simply shown up, turned the stove back on and collected the cost for a quick call. Nick's honesty was refreshing, though, and gave me great confidence to call again, should we have another issue.

We called over the weekend and left a message on their machine. Nick Williams returned our call 8am on Monday and was able to send his son out at the first time we requested (the next morning). He worked swiftly, explained what he was doing and cleaned up. He was in and out in under 30 minutes, but didn't seem rushed. Very happy with the service. The only negative is a slight one - I realized after the fact that he didn't show a breakdown between the price of the part and the labor charge-but I was ok with the actual amount, just wish there had been a breakdown to know how they charge if we need service in the future. I'm not sure if that's common practice. I could easily ask their hourly charge next time. Overall, very pleased - so pleased that I sat down to write the review immediately after he left.

Repaired washing machine very quickly.

He was here today for the ice maker. He is outstanding. Responsive and very good at what he does. He is completely reliable and trustworthy.

Nick was recommended by my neighbor in the Spring 2012. Her family used him for years in the Larchmont/New Rochelle area. He came to look at my dryer and ice maker. Fixed the dryer on the spot with a quick replacement part (apx $150). He ordered a part for the icemaker, and returned a week later to install it (apx $300). Ice never formed. Called several times. He finally came back and said we needed another part, ordered it, then he fell off the face of the earth. Called him several times. Left nice messages, left stern messages. Even asked my neighbor to call him to get his attention. He never returned any calls. That was about a year ago. Since then, the dryer had the same issue again, so I just went to Sears and bought a new dryer. Ice maker still broken but I have a nice $300 part I apparently did not need. Finally getting around to writing the review. Nick is unreliable, unresponsive. BUYER BEWARE. He is flaky and not trustworthy. Not a good businessman. If you have a good experience, its just by luck that he decided to return your call.

I found Nick Williams on the list and gave him a call, He returned my call later the same day. I was worried about chosing between repairing an old dryer and buying a new one. He was able to educate me over the phone about all the pros and cons, and when it looked like it could be the motor he recommended replacement even though he could have made the repair at a considerable cost. When I confirmed that the motor did show signs of life based on his descriptions, he was able to come by within a day right on time, make the repairs, improved the ventilation, and offered a 1 year warranty on the work. He also gave me valuable information on future purchases, and maintenance. Nick is smart and efficient. I really appreciate a professional who likes to share their knowledge. What started out as a miserable and untimely financial burden became a bargain for what was learned and being assured that our 15 year old machine has lots of life left. This is the guy you want!

When I called them they never returned my phone call. I was not impressed with the professionalism of this company as they are not returning customers phone calls.

Things went very well with Nick Williams Appliance Service.

Nick fixed my refrigerator a few days before Christmas Eve, on which I was hosting a big dinner. He returned my call same day, arrived the next day on time, assessed the problem within minutes and ordered the part on the spot. He returned the next day right on time and repaired fridge within an hour. Nick is very courteous and knowledgable, and even cleaned up after repair was made! I will definitely call him again for any appliance repairs.

Our stove was broken, and I placed a call around 9 am t0 Nick's Appliance Repair as it was the closest repair service to our home. I left my schedule - I work in the afternoons and evenings. On my return home, Nick had left a message around 4 pm. I called Nick back, again leaving a message detailing my schedule. A few days later, I left another message. And so on, and so on until 5 messages had been left in total with no return phone call. It was around Easter break, so I figured perhaps he and his team were on vacation. My final call was the Monday after Easter and when I didn't hear back by that Wednesday morning, I moved on.

Nick was responsive and scheduled to come out to our house the following day. He was extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and explained everything well. He did not suggest unnecessary work and the pricing was fair. I'd definitely call him again.

He showed up on time, showed me how to finish what I had started to do, was very pleasant and helpful.

I was stuck with a washer full of water and clothes. I was referred to Nick by both my local hardware store and Angie's list. I called 4 places, he offered to come a full day earlier than any others (next morning) and his service call charge was 50% less than all others, as well. I was unwilling to pay too much because I had a hunch it was a relatively simple problem, which Nick confirmed. He came at 8:15 am in order to give me time to get my daughter to school afterward, took about 10 minutes, and charged me 75 dollars total (in comparison, all other providers had service call charges of about 120). Very pleasant, professional and quick.

He came the next day. He found what he needed to fix it was no longer available, so to get it to work he bypassed the oven cleaning part which is fine and it works great. he was efficient, professional and the price was good. I would us him again.

ick called me back right away in response to my enquiry. He actually didn't cover the brand of dishwasher that we have (Miele) but asked me if I found anyone good to let him know so he could recommend him/her also. He also suggested some places I could try to get someone. I was very pleased with his professionalism and responsiveness, even if there was no business in it for him.

Great. He spent a good amount of time running both appliances to determine problem. Asked specific questions about how we used the appliances and then gave us his opinion.
