Greener by Design

Excellent work. Scheduled the visit quickly, came and did a great job - exactly what I needed. It would have cost me a lot more (and a LOT more trouble) to do this myself, and this was a reasonable cost for a highly valued service. They even gave me a seed packet with wildflowers as a thank you gift. Very professional and well-done!

They arrived 2-3 hours late. They told me they had the wrong address. |I don't see much difference on my yard before and after their service. Will not use their service again.

It was a jubbled job, too rushed and the seeding wasn't enough. We seeded again. It may have just been the crew. A different crew came and cut my lawn last month for two weeks. Again, the communication wasn't good and didn't come when they said they would..but they're an expanding business and these things can happen. Will need to have a conversation with the owner because I sign on for seasonal service.

Three workmen spent an hour and a half (4 generous man hours) pruning and cleaning planting beds and chopping ivy. Prompt, polite, and cleaned up beautifully. An excellent job. This was a coupon offer, and a couple of days ago, the owner's assistant called, getting feedback from coupon customers specifically: were we satisfied and could they have done anything better? Can't give them more work right now but can give them a customer-service A.

My husband and I just bought a house that hasn't been touched with any landscaping concerns for decades. The meeting went very well! I was very comfortable , and the included plan came right when promised. A very good experience.

I guess it was okay. What we thought is that it was too much for our little house, it was very grandiose so we're not going to his suggestion. The other thing was that maybe it's my fault because I didn't read all the fine print but I assumed that would be all of our property but in fact it's only in the front of the house, it did not include the sides or the back. There's no additional cost. I guess if we had a much larger house or much larger piece of property, it would be the best but it was unsatisfactory for our home. I'm kind of disappointed because I thought it would be based on his normal price that it would have been more of our property included but it was just in front of our house and we have 75 by 100 plot of ground, I think it was overpriced. It was a learning experience for us.

Changed Appt.'s at least 3 times before stating via phone call he did not service my area. Call was made 15 minutes prior to time of Appt.

It was a little bit tough communicating thru email, lots of back and forth. I was not aware of the actual date or time the crew would show up to do the aeration. I was advised the day before and advised I would be the last site on the list, due to the distance. Regrettably I was not at home when they stopped by and could not judge the work until the following day. I thought it would not go to well, but to my surprise it did, consdidering I could not withness the work performed. As we plan to actuallly do some "landscaping" I will be contacting them for suggestions and perhaps the work as well. I now have grass in patches where there was none before.

There were several missteps in making an app't because the ad was listed the wrong week and then the designer was on vacation and booked when he returned. We finally met, but I had to wait for the initial app't and another week to receive the plans. However, he was very pleasant and professional, but unfortunately, the landscaping work itself was more than I budgeted for the job and did not go further.

It was a pleasure to work with Richard. Every knowledgable and prompt. Fair pricing.

I hired them via Angie's on-line system. And, provided a note explaining the layout of the yards and asked about watering requirements. Rich Heller contacted us later that day via email and asked us to provide 3 available dates for service and instructed us to cut the lawn short. They came within the agreed upon timeframe. They aerated & seeded the entire property - and curbside as we had requested. They left written instructions on watering the lawn. We did as instructed and saw growth within a week or two. We were very pleased with the work that they did. Sorry that I didn't get to meet and speak with the servicer. They came early and got the job done before we even realized that they were there. I'd recommend them. The Angie's Deal was just as stated. There was no estimate or additional costs.

The appointment was easy to set up and two men came on time to do the work. They worked hard and did what I asked and even more. This company is organic and they are trying not to use pesticides which is a big plus in my opinion!

There was a problem initially, but they came out and repeated the service to my satisfaction. I would recommend them in the future.

Representative took full measurements and discussed various options for remodeling our backyard. We also received pdf pictures of the proposed landscape plants and documentation for other components.

Greener by design put out big deal offer. I purchased it through Angies List on 9/10 and payed through paypal. Greener by design sent someone out the following week to check out my yard. The person came to my house and agreed to aerate and seed for the fall, even adding on an additonal $10 dollars because they measured my lawn larger than it was. I did not argue, it was a good deal. We scheduuled a date then they cancelled., rescheduled and then cancelled. Ultimately the owner called and said he could not fulfill the Big Deal because I lived too far away. Keep in mind that he already had someone to my house to measure the lawn and agreed to do the work after that. I would not be leaving this review if the money was returned, but it was not. So in case you are keeping score 1. Offered the deal and then after multiple reschedules decided to cancel 2. Never returned payment. for the Big Deal. That is my experience.

We were very satisfied with the design. Rich noticed that our existing shrubs and plants all appeared to be very bare at the base and more full up top and intuitively asked if we had a lot of deer in and around our yard. We do have quite a large population of deer relative to our location. This problem was factored into the design and all of the plants and shrubs that were recommended were plants that deer are less likely to eat which is very helpful. Along with our plans we were given an estimate to have the plan put into action. We are new homeowners and we had some unexpected projects which has left us with less money in the landscaping budget at the moment so we haven't put the plan into action just yet. But we hope to save up some money to have work done and at that time we will strongly consider using Greener By Design. Note: I did not rate the company on price because it is the only estimate I have and therefore have nothing to compare it to. But it didn't seem unreasonable.

Bought a coupon for fall clean up. Four hours of work for $144. Listed three days for the service to be done and a priority list of items. They showed up on the appropriate day. The two men worked neatly and efficiently for the full amount of time. They finished the job completely. Well worth the money.

They 2 workers arrived on time. They did a very quick job. Exactly when they said, the grass began to grow and it looks beautiful. I wish they told us the results of their analysis of our soil/grass that they did before starting the job.

It was fine. I would recommend them.

It would have been better if the service provider had stated the geographical area where he performs his services. Personally, I don't feel New Rochelle to Ossining, NY is unrealistic. This was, therefore, a total waste of my time filling out forms to request a refund.

We had purchased a big deal for the service. We had a great meeting with them, they gave me a terrific proposal, and we are meeting this week to move ahead. They had great ideas, great follow through and so far it has been good. I have more plans for the future which I will be talking to them about as well.

Work was done well however maintenance directions were never provided and emails to company we're not returned

It waited 2 weeks for an appointment. I took the morning off from work but, was told the day before that it was cancelled because, I was outside the service area.
