We were really very impressed by RYCOR through the whole process of installing 5 ductless, 1-to-1 heat pumps. From stem to stern, the experience was remarkably reasonable and professional. The free consult with Dick laid out exactly what to expect with the project, including the various rebates and tax credits on offer. He also did a terrific job explaining the most efficient way to achieve our goals for the house and laid out flexible financing options. When the proposal came in, there were no surprises and the setup process (including permitting and financing) was straightforward and quick. Gianna and Alex run a tight ship in the back office and scheduling moved swiftly with consistent, reliable communication. Installation day went without a hitch. They sent an eight person crew, including Carlos, who was an excellent team leader. They knew exactly what they were doing and worked really well together, jovial even. They were effective communicators as well, so we had input into any aspects that required decisions. Considering what had to be done in the installation of the 5 units (including two home-runs to the electrical panel through a less than ideal basement), I had been skeptical that this could all be accomplished in one day. But sure enough - come the afternoon - everything was finished, aesthetically attractive and functional. All installed gear was labeled, all furniture that had been moved was back in place and all construction debris was gone. Carlos provided a thorough but digestible walk-through of how to maintain the units and use the remotes. We were genuinely awed by what they were able to do in a day and even more so by the results of their work. In the week since the install we’ve been delighted by the ease of use and performance of the heat pumps. We’re very glad we made the decision to do it; a decision that was made easy and affordable by RYCOR (along with some well-invested government incentives). And we’re very much looking forward to seeing our upcoming electric bills! How often do you get to say that? One suggestion to prospective clients - provide a cooler with some water and gatorade and get the crew lunch. It’s a long, involved day that they’re putting in and no one likes to work on an empty stomach. A few pizza pies makes a difference, both for them and for the focus it brings to the project. In addition to giving respectful tips, it’s a simple way to show gratitude for the expertise and care that’s being put into a job. Kudos to you RYCOR. Top marks on a job well done—

The ductless ac's were installed but the company never filed the paperwork for an electrical inspection that they charged me $400 and the town only charges $250. I had the units installed in early June and no one has come to inspect the electrical work. No paperwork has been filed. I have called the town and the company they said that was supposed to do the inspection said they had not been contacted. I'm going to call the credit card companies and tell them I'm going to stop payment until this is resolved.

It was a very pleasant experience , competent, respectful and polite staff. Kept me informed step by step of what was happening explaining it clearly. Joe and his crew were working in a rhythm together as a team. I would highly recommend this company

Scott and his crew have now installed four separate A/C-hyperheat units in my house, as well as a propane furnace. I have found his prices, service, installation, maintenance, and office staff to be nothing but exemplary in all ways. I met Scott when the furnace of the house I had just bought kicked off, in the middle of winter. I was overwhelmed with other remodeling that was already underway, a tight budget, and little time to deal with the dead furnace. Scott absolutely saved the day. He gave me smart and reasonable options and enough information and advice to enable me to make a good decision about a new furnace. He did the same when I was ready to install A/C-hyperheat units. Every time he and his crew have done work in my house, they've left the space cleaner than they found it. All of his workers are as courteous as he is. I have nothing but praise for Scott and his company and I recommend him every chance I get. He will treat you politely and fairly while he serves whatever HVAC needs you have, at terrific rates.

My experience with Scott and his Team has been great. I had central air installed to an existing forced air system and a Mitsubishi Split System placed on the top floor in order to provide heat and cooling. First of all, everything was handled professionally and in no time. I compare this to another company that inspected my home, said that I'd hear from them in two weeks and avoided me for the next two months. When RYCOR took over, everything went smoothly and the work was completed within a day! I was given professional guidance and options from the beginning, based on an honest assessment of my needs, and the follow up care has been top shelf. Needless to say, I highly recommend working with Scott and the entire Team at RYCOR. I couldn't be more pleased.

They came for a last-minute emergency repair the day before Thanksgiving. Very prompt and professional.

There was a problem with an LP furnace. After calling a few Angie’s List provided vendors, Rycor was chosen and agreed to dispatch someone immediately. I met him at the house – he arrived before I did – and the technician examined the furnace and recommended that the unit be replaced due to the likely cause of the problems. We shut it down.

Went great!! We called early on Monday morning because the HVAC system was blowing “warm” air. Since the unit had never been serviced, we were pretty sure it was a refrigerant issue. RYCOR said they would send someone that afternoon. At 6PM a service technician arrived, looked over the unit, talked to us a bit, and then went to work servicing, cleaning, and charging the system. When he was done, he explained what he found and what he had done. Because the system was out of refrigerant, he advised us that there was a leak, told us what to look for regarding performance, and to call if there were issues. Explained that he couldn’t assess the extent of the leak until the system ran for a while. He then reviewed the operating instructions for the unit with us. (Was not our home, we were visiting with my wife’s elderly mother). The only thing I was a little surprised at, was the cost. I’ve had central HVAC units for almost 30 years now, and this cost was about 25% more expensive than I anticipated, but given the emergency situation and their Professionalism and responsiveness, it was well worth the cost. I’d recommend them to anyone!!

The team at Rycor were extremely professional from the first interaction. Phones are answered, calls are returned, timing windows are respected, you get a heads-up as to when people are coming and if they're running a little behind. My time is valuable and it was respected - this matters a huge amount and the team at Rycor understands this. The technician was extremely professional and did a great job explaining the work that was performed. I would highly recommend them and would hire them again.

Scott at the whole crew at Rycor were amazing. I have a 100 year old house that's in great shape, but had no A/C other than window units. I did some research and found that the Mitsubishi units were very well reviewed and found Rycor is a a certified installer. Scott came out and talked to us about how 3 split units could handle the house and the specific benefits of the units--efficiency, dehumidification, heating as well as cooling. The day of the installation was a blizzard, but the crew came out and did amazing work! They filed for the permits, cared about doing a quality job that would ensure the units would work well (angle and length of runs), were unobtrusive (hide the plumbing wherever possible, and even checked views out of windows to ensure that the outside units didn't block any views), and lots of little touches to ensure that it disrupted the home as little as possible. Everyone was nice, hard-working, caring, and professional throughout the installation. All 3 units were done in 1/2 a day! The work was great, and we really enjoy the new units and can't wait for summer. :)

Scott and his associates are the consummate professionals. They responded quickly and diagnosed a problem that evaded several previous companies. They clearly explained my options and although I opted to replace the entire central AC system, they were not at all pushing me in this direction. They were meticulous in their work and did a few extras that unexpectedly came up at no extra charge. I had contact with several of Scott's people in the course of the job. All were courteous and impressive in their knowledge base. Great folks to deal with.

My wife and I finally (after 20+ years of no AC and just ceiling fans) decided to dig deep into our wallets to have AC installed using these new Mitsubishi units. We did some searching and found them available in multiple locations (big box stores, etc). Luckily for us, we chanced upon a coupon mailer from Mitsubishi who recommended a seller/installer-RYCOR HVAC in New Paltz, New York. With much trepidation (we had been burned before by “honest” contractors) we contacted RYCOR and spoke with Scott Arnold, the owner. We made an appointment and Scott arrived at our home on time wearing a smile (and clothes-whew). He spent all the time necessary for us to understand how the system works and then LISTENED to our wants and desires, all the while explaining how the system would perform to our needs and made simple understandable recommendations to fine tune the units to our needs. Finally, we elected to take the plunge and chose Scott’s company to perform the work. Finally, a trustworthy contractor! Scott and his crew arrived on the date chosen and installed three units in three locations that would best perform the cooling and heating we wanted. The workmanship was/is outstanding, the crew a real pleasure to watch and the quality of work, right down to clean-up, was a pleasure. Bottom line, if you are considering having these units installed, feel confident that this crew will do the best possible job. Scott is the ultimate professional and knowledgeable about his product and what would work best for our needs. He was responsive to our request for information and contacted us immediately. He was able to meet with us that evening to go over options. We felt he was professional, honest, and great to deal with. He answered our numerous questions to our satisfaction. He was able to install our unit the following day. He kept in constant communication with us during the process and sent pictures of the finished installation that day. He met with us that evening so we could wrap up payment, and explained fully all the directions/options for the new unit. We are VERY pleased with his work. He was not pushy at all, which you sometimes find with companies trying to sell their products. He were very comfortable working with him, and he has our total trust. We hope to perhaps add additional units of this type to our main house because we were so impressed with his craftsmanship and customer service. I can highly recommend him to anyone looking for heating needs. He is one of the top professionals we have ever contracted with in our 35 years as a homeowner.

I can't recommend Scott and his team highly enough. Scott took time to discuss options on replacing our 28-year old boiler and was very friendly and responsive to questions. Not only did Rycor replace our boiler, they did an amazing job replacing the trim -- no other words to describe the whole job except beautiful. His team took their time to really do things right and were highly professional and courteous. After completion, Scott offered us an excellent price to replace our rusted well pressure tank, the next job on our list -- his team also took time to straighten out some of the plumbing. When the water came back on, we realized the pressure wasn't as high as before, and Rycor came back right away to make an adjustment. We are relieved to have reliable equipment in place and grateful to have found Rycor!

Scott and his crew were incredibly professional and easy to work with. They were fast on the installation and did a fantastic job cleaning up afterwards. Our old house is now toasty warm and we have hardly noticed a difference in our electric bills.

I had a really positive experience with Rycor - Scott was very helpful on the phone and Mike came out nearly immediately to help me get my AC working. He was very kind and professional, and while the repair was a simple fix, he was very thorough in checking out my heating and AC system for any potential issues. I really appreciate the prompt and professional service of Rycor and will definitely be calling them in the future for my heating and AC needs.

The service was excellent from start to finish. Scott, the owner of the business, arrived promptly at my home, for an assessment of my air conditioning needs and recommended a ductless system as I did not have a basement. A date was set for the installment and Scott and his team arrived promptly and did an excellent job of installing four systems. As well, a member of his team explained to me how to use the equipment. I am extremely pleased-the air conditioning works beautifully-and I would highly recommend Scott and his team to anyone looking to air condition or heat their home..

We place a call to RYCOR to get an estimate for central air conditioning. We setup a time/date with Scott to come and meet at our home. We found Scott to be very professional and personable. He explained the pluses and minuses of central and ductless air conditioning. We walked the inside and outside of the house to discussed several different installation options. Prior to him leaving he gave us a verbal estimate which he followed up with a written estimate the next day. After several other estimates from other contractors we still had a few questions/concerns and Scott came back to put all of our concerns to rest. We hired RYCOR for the job and scheduled the installation date for the following week. Scott, Mike and Carlos showed up on time and prior to the work being started we all we walked through the installation to insure there were no questions/concerns. Mike and Carlos then went straight to work and we found them a delight to be around. They were professional and very respectful of our home. Once the installation was complete Mike showed us all of the operational features of our new units, he also helped with filling out the paper work for the Central Hudson rebates. The following day, after a closer inspection, we found a small problem with the line hide on the front of the house. We place a call to Scott and he had the team come back to fix any issues that we had. I would hire RYCOR again for my home and would highly recommend them to others.

I called on a Saturday morning asking if Rycor could send someone out to my home to check out my Heating system since the ADT low-temp alarm had been going off all night. I had a local guy that I had been using for routine maintenance and repair work on my system who was at my House at the time. The local guy had just told me that I needed to "replace the line" that extended from my heater to the oil tank in the basement...and then "add a 2nd line" to prevent the system from periodically shutting down. Since that didn't sound right to me, I called Rycor. (This was the second time I had called Rycor in the past few months...and the work they did the first time was outstanding). Rycor came out to my home to meet with my local repair guy ...and spent 40 minutes with him, troubleshooting a solution. In the end, the solution Rycor came up with was better and less costly than the one suggested by the original repair guy. AND, they didn't even end up charging me since they didn't want me to pay twice for the same repair (ie by my original guy and then Rycor). I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND RYCOR! They are honest, trustworthy, competent and reliable. I will never again use anyone else for my HVAC needs.
