It turned out really good and there were no additional charges besides the price of the big deal. This was the first time that I have used them.

They informed me that they do not service oil furnaces. It would have been helpful if they had mentioned this. I am not sure if I would use them.

They showed up on time and were honest, quick and neat. I would use them again.

It was perfect and he did a great job. He was very responsive and walked me through what he was doing. He made some recommendations but was not pushy. I was satisfied.

The service was fine. He came on time, and inspected, and everything was fine. They were very courteous, they came on time, and it was a very good experience.

I found their initial visit cost to be reasonable at $80 for a diagnosis. Many other vendors charge hourly. I was disappointed that they wanted to charge me this fee twice as I had two units needing service, but in the end we settled on 1-1/2 times this amount. They have an interesting pricing model where they don't charge parts and labor separately. They just charge a higher markup on parts and call it a flat fee for the repair. I'm not sure if it really makes a difference in terms of the overall cost, but it does eliminate some of the anxiety and probably takes pressure off of the tech who is doing the servicing. Because of the flat rate, I didn't feel compelled to hover, as I knew (more or less) what the cost was going to be. I left the tech alone to work in peace. I found the office staff to be friendly, but I had to call multiple times to check in to make sure things were moving along with my case. I would be told that they would call me, but in my experience I did most of the calling. Once I called and prodded them a bit, they were responsive and things kept moving. They could probably benefit from some kind of customer relationship management software as it seemed that knowledge of my case tended to stay with the last person I talked to. My case required 3 visits, which were widely spaced while we waited for parts to come in. One of the visits was canceled the same day that it was supposed to happen, after the appointed time. Luckily my schedule was flexible. For full time worker it's a major undertaking coordinate being available most of the day to wait for a tech to come to do service. The cost of the repairs was a bit shocking, but seems in line with competitors. Overall my experience was mixed, but on the balance, positive. I'd go with them again.

That went well. They seemed to be professional. I did it as a courtesy for the new people when I sold my home. I haven’t heard any complaints.

It was terrific. They arrived when they said they would to give the estimate; gave a very thorough explanation of possible systems we could use; and meticulously explained the contract for the job. Installation went off in a very professional way.

He was very patient & professional with all the questions I asked. I was very pleased & I have to admit..very surprised when he gave me a final diagnosis that all was well.....well until two weeks later when a burning smell coming from the vents filled the house.The smell was that of the blower motor that had burned out & on Christmas Eve I was housed with NO HEAT. I called T.F O'Brien & was given an appointment for TWO DAYS LATER. Tech. Milton arrived on time & $673.48 & 1 hour later I had HEAT !

Visit went very well. Technician Milton was polite, patient & professional. He did arrive a little late due to the heavy fog in weather that day. He answered many questions I had asked of him. Even advised me how to maintain furnace cleanliness & periodically changing filters. He was thorough & gave me a diagnosis that all was well except for the blower motor being sluggish. He explained to me that it had a little life left but I would eventually need to replace it.

Excellent. They were very professional, clean & honest.

They were great! He looked at everything with me and gave me an estimate. He explained everything that he needed to do, and he was in and out in about 1.5 hours. I’d keep using them in the future.

Furnace winter checkup; everything went well. I will use them from now on. Very reasonable price.

Andre performed a 15-point inspection of our Slant/Fin boiler and fixed a minor leak on the supply pipe. He was punctual, professional, and knew what he was doing. He also spotted some corrosion on another valve on the supply line and told us what was necessary to fix that as well. He didn't push any additional services on us. We hired a technician, and that's exactly what we got--not a salesman. That's refreshing these days when everyone is trying to sell you something you don't need. We also recently got a few quotes from TF O'Brien for a new water heater. Chris O'Brien stopped by to look at the current heater and to discuss our needs, and promptly provided quotes for three different options for replacing our aging water heater. We haven't decided what to do yet, but I would definitely work with Chris and everyone else at TF O'Brien again.

They did great. They were punctual, they did their job and it was thorough. They were able to get in and out quickly and do exactly as they advertised.

I was extremely pleased with the service provided.T he service specialist Anthony was very professional, patient, thorough, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He willingly answered questions and provided helpful information that help increase my knowledge of the boiler operation. He provided recommendations and information to help in the upkeep and maintainance of the boiler.

Milton came within the window of time agreed upon and was professional and pleasant. He performed the agreed upon service and took time to explain to me about the needs of the system and told me there are now plug in carbon monoxide detectors (who knew?!)

Company Set up appointment, morning of job tech called before he came, came within 30 minutes of phone call to my house. Did the job Cleaned serviced. Very satisfied. Asked to please set up appointment for and A/C consultation and he did it right there on his iPad.

There were issues as far as workmanship is concerned. The new water heater is working, but they replaced the water heater with the control panels facing the back wall. So basically you don't even see it. When I enquired why this was done the excuse they gave me was that the pipes were turned a certain way and they would have to cut them to turn them around. This kind of conversation should have taken place way before the job was finished. This happened when I started inspecting the job and they were ready to give me the invoice. The guy was in a rush and he just said that's the way it is and that most people would like to have the panel turned to the back, so that they can use this room as a storage container and whatever you put into it doesn't bump into the controller. I said that is a ridiculous statement. Why would I want to have a control panel facing the back wall where I can't see it? They should discuss the job they are going to do before they install anything and then inform the home owner that's the way it is. I think the professionalism comes into question. If you are charging top dollar, which they are, you should make your best effort to explain and try to follow some sort of industry standards, whatever they are. The control panel has to be facing forward, not backward. I would imagine that this is in violation of some sort of a basic code. So I would warn Angie's List members to be more careful in choosing who they are going to hire to replace a water heater. The price was higher than the market average. The water heater works, my house is not on fire after they finished their work and I guess I just had to talk it over with them before they start the job next time. I would probably use them again for something, but just be a little more hands on.

The service technician was polite, professional, knowledgeable, neat and wore paper booties into the house.

This is the best purchase I've ever made. Anthony showed up promptly as scheduled. He was very courteous, professional and went to work right away. As first time home owner, I know nothing about boiler and he was very patient and kind enough explaining all the safety features and how to maintain my boiler. I am amazed by the knowledge he has on boilers and I could tell he loves what he does. I've learned so much from Anthony about boiler and will definitely recommend Anthony to anyone who needs AC/Heating work. I think he is a great asset to T F O Brien & Co Inc. and a perfectionist.

11/14//2013 Unfortunately, to no fault of Anthony my boiler pilot went out. I called the company,TF O'brien and they reached Anthony right away and he was able to meet with me within two hours. Anthony, asked me what happened and I replied that it just stopped working and now I have no hot water. On his first visit he had recommended an expansion tank that will expand the life of the water tank. Mind you he only came to service the boiler not the water tank. He disconnected a faulty safety switch tripped and told me to have it replace ASAP. He took several pictures of the faulty switch to acquire the model number in order to replace the switch. I thank him one more time and will called to schedule an appointment with Anthony.

We just moved into our new home and needed our furnace inspected before the winter. Jimmy from T.F. O'Brien was great. He was on time, clean, respectful and professional. He walked us through each step of his inspection/cleaning and was a great resource for information. I would recommend this company and Jimmy in particular any time!
