Contacted TF O'Brien for an estimate via their website. Call back was in the evening the following day. Spoke with Charla. She was not at all friendly and did not offer any options to work an estimate around my work schedule. I was the one who was trying to make it work, but in the end could not. Charla's attitude was take-it-or-leave-it -- nonchalant and insulting. Really disappointing and not at all consistent with posted reviews. Is this what happens with them during their busy season? Made me think what it would be like to need a service call during the hot summer months.

The provider made an appointment, confirmed the appointment a day prior and then didn't show . We weren't called or informed of delays or the possibility of appointment being rescheduled. The Appointment was booked and confirmed a day prior, I sat at home from 12-5 for nothing. I had to call the next day to speak to a manager for refund to credit card, as I pre-payed. I didn't reschedule!! I understand delays happen and appointments have to be changed but I also believe a phone call and an apology are basic customer service and of you can't handle that, then I don't need you working on my home.

The guy came on time, Cleaned and checked the unit at all points, started the air conditioner, made sure that all the vents were working and changed the filter. He arrived on time, made some suggestions on how we might improve air flow and left everything perfectly clean.

Very good service. Tech was knowledgeable and informative. He gave tips on how to keep A/C running efficiently. Took his time to do a great job.

1st appointment, wouldn't honor 2 tuneup purchases. 2nd, appointment, couldn't do it because of bad weather. 3rd. appointment missed. 4th appointment, found low refrigerant in one of the two Units, quote was over $500. I refused service on that unit. cleaned the filter on 2nd unit and were out of the door in less than 30 mins. Not very happy with whole experience.

TF O brien's tech came in to do the tuneup and cleanup. Found a problem, gave me an estimate of $300 but during the repair, tech couldn't fix it with existing system and had to replace few more parts. after all said and done, paid $800 for something that was about to colt $300. Tech couldn't finish the job, had to call backup to finish up the repair.

We purchased the inspection in prep for sale of house. House was empty and when we met service tech we discovered the heat was off . Tech found that I needed an Auto Air Eliminator valve and charged $126 for what my husband said was a $10 part. Price might be reasonable if the tech not already there for the inspection. We returned to the house a week later and there was no heat. We called and were charged $359 for a Gas Vent Damper. It took a total of 30 min to diagnose, find part in truck and make the repair. Since house was empty it was too time consuming to postpone, research and compare cost of repair with other companies. After my husband went to the local plumbing store and was told the part $50. It seemed each time we were charged for a service call and high price for the repairs. While we clearly needed a repair since there had to be a reason for no heat, however, two service calls and high price suspect. We were left with the impression that Big Deals not a Deal in the long run.

One technician came and completed the work and left no mess behind. It was very good.

After the date for the inspection was established, I was given a four hour window as to when the inspector would show-up. I explained to them that this was very inconvenient since I had to dismantle two closets full of clothes to gain access to the air conditioning units and duct work. To better accommodate me, I was told that I would receive a call from the company early in the day to provide a specific time so that I could prepare for the inspection and not have my house in disarray for four hours. The day of the inspection I did not receive a phone call advising me as to when the inspector was coming and when someone finally showed-up at the very last minute of the four hour window, he had no idea that he needed to crawl up into two separate attics to inspect the machinery and duct work. He mentioned that he had just been re-routed to my address to conduct an inspection and it was clearly not his fault. Unfortunately I was left with no choice but to cancel the inspection since it was so late in the day and I would have to rush to prepare the access points. I explained that I would like to re-schedule the inspection and made sure that the inspector knew exactly what type of system he was dealing with so the inspection could proceed more smoothly when a new date is established. I have not heard back from the company since my cancellation. I'm not in the business of giving bad reviews and usually just move on to a more fitting company, but I understand and respect what Angie's List stands for. In all fairness, I can not judge the quality of T F O Brien's work since they did not perform a job for me, but one of the things I look for in a company is a connection to the client. Not to say that we need to develop a relationship, but just a little compassion for their client's situation. To sit around for four hours these days is just not reasonable.

I got a lot of helpful information and I also appreciated his honesty and letting my know about upgrade choices. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

Scheduling went as planned. Everything went well with the service. I paid extra to have them add Freon.

The job went really well, the technician that was sent was knowledgeable and professional.

They were very friendly, thorough, and did excellent work.

When I purchased the deal, it said they will call me to schedule a date and they didn't even message me until 3 days after the date they said on the Big Deal page. When I called them to schedule the appointment they refused to honor it until the fall.

Rich didn't try to up-sell us on any other service. He gave recommendations for the future. We would definitely use them again.

The service technician was very nice, quick, and explained everything to me thoroughly. I was impressed.

It went very well. Technician was very prompt and went over all the points addressed on the promotion and gave me written confirmation. If I need service in the future I will definitely give them a try.

Great job over all. Felix and Justin showed up on time and were skilled professionals. They had to extend the existing flue and gas line for the water tank, and did a very neat, precise job. They also diagnosed a leaking gasket on another boiler (at my request, free of charge) and provided some other general advice about cleaning up and fixing other minor issues in my basement. This is the second time we've used T.F. O'Brien, and based on these experiences I will definitely call them next time too. Job well done.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. They were very nice. I see their advertisements on the television all the time so I was curious about them. There wasn't anything wrong with the boiler. They checked in with me every once in a while. It was a nice opportunity to meet them. I wasn't here but my husband was. He said they were very nice and efficient. They were good people to know if we ever have a problem. They didn't try to sell us anything. They were great. I didn't spend any additional. There was no confusion on what they were doing here. They didn't use the opportunity to pressure anything. They did tell us what they do. They said everything was fine. The pricing was very nice and they were very smart in getting people to know them.

The serviceman is very professional.

Provider's technician (Rich) showed up within the 5 hour window. I was not on premises when service was done. My family was home and let him in. I received a call back from the technician on-site after the service was seemingly complete, stating that a problem was found, but then I would be charged an additional $129 + tax for his diagnostic time. However, the diagnostic was never authorized. The feeling that I got is analogous to taking a car to a mechanic for an oil change, and when going to pick up the car, I'm told that additional services were rendered based on the technician's judgement, "so here's the bill - and you have no recourse for disputing the charges." === Being a business owner myself (Electronics Manufacturing, Service & Sales), I was absolutely appalled by these actions. I would have appreciated being informed of the service charge in advance BEFORE any further labor was expended so that I can authorize it, but to simply go ahead without my explicit OK and be given a bill is simply mind-boggling to say the least. In the meantime, they've used my credit card to cover the disputed charge. The technician claims that he'll speak with the company about this incident so that "we can see what can be done", but other Angie's list subscribers - BE WARNED - They are inclined to add additional charges WITHOUT your authorization. I was expecting a far more pleasant experience, and would've appreciated finding a good HVAC person for my homes and business, but I guess the search goes on. TL;DR - I DO NOT recommend T F O Brien. They added unauthorized charges / services without my explicit consent, which is a huge violation in business ethics to say the least.

It was good. I meant to follow-up with them but never got around to it. They recommended buying something but we never got it. It was fine, the guy was fine but I didn't meet him, my daughter did. They came at a mutually convenient time, they were very respectful, very nice and I believe they did what they said they were going to do. They recommended a part and I didn't get back to them about that yet but I will follow their recommendation. They are very good and top notch. Their price was fine because nobody comes to your house for $49.

It turned out really good and there were no additional charges besides the price of the big deal. This was the first time that I have used them.
