They were very honest and very knowledgeable.? They total me I didn't need a roof.? The estimate wasn't detailed I think partly because he said I didn't need a new roof.? So I don't think he put in the effort to give a thorough estimate because he didn't think I needed a new roof and what was the point of all that to give a precise estimate if he wasn't going to provide a roof.? I can understand that.

Mr. Blake and his crew did a fantastic job and I highly recommend him and his company. Mr. Blake was very responsive, patient and willing to work with me. I also liked the fact that he did not try to pressure me into hiring him and he did not badger his competition. He told me what he was prepared to offer, what the various options were of the materials he could use and he made honest recommendations based on the project we needed to have done.

We needed a new roof, gutters and window capping. After contacting Blake Windows, Siding and Roofing, the owner, Arnie Blake, came promptly to our home and provided us with a detailed explanation of how the work would be done. What impressed us from the start was his genuine interest in outlining the best possible approach to improving the look and function of our house. All questions were answered, indeed encouraged- so that there was clarity in the expected outcome. What is so exceedingly special about Mr. Blake is his integrity and the obvious caring attitude he displays toward his customers. There was not one time when he did not return a call in a timely manner or arrive when promised. In this age of ?buyer beware? with unscrupulous contractors running amok, it is truly a breath of fresh air to encounter a businessman like Arnie Blake. It is often said that the leader sets the tone for how a business is run. Well, Mr. Blake?s workers reflected his same professionalism and attention to detail. They arrived on time, installed the materials correctly, respected the owners? property and worked excellently as a team. The cleanup procedure went without a hitch. It was a first class operation. There is absolutely no doubt that we would recommend Blake Windows, Siding and Roofing. We are thoroughly pleased with the results of the project. Our house looks beautiful with a brand new roof that complements the color of our home (thanks to Mr. Blake?s helpful suggestion). After a recent rain, we saw that all the work that had been done protected the house from water intrusion. The entire experience has been beyond outstanding from start to finish!

Met with owner Arnie Blake and signed contract 4/28. He was very detailed and offered a great suggestion for the gutter in back of my house. Since I couldn't put 2 downspouts, he said put a 6 inch gutter there; the rest of the gutters were 5 inch. The workers were always there before 9 a.m., very knowledgeable and professional and my home looks gorgeous! It took 3 days for the siding, fascia and trim and one day for the gutters. They cleaned up nicely. Arnie came most days to check in with me and the work----very personable and professional. I have a lifetime warranty on gutters and siding and 8 years on the labor. Very pleased!

Blake Windows, Siding and Roofing provided excellent service. The were prompt and extremely courteous and polite. The work was expertly and professionally completed. They always arrived promptly. Arnie Blake is very honest and reliable. The office provides excellent communication--they alway answered my calls and addressed my questions. He came over to look at the roof and inspected it. He told me it was not bad and did not needed any work. He is very professional, nice, and honest.

Responded fairly soon when I first called. Was fairly punctual . Would not give an estimate because he said I should first see what the insurance co. was willing to pay. Sounded reasonable. Neighbor next door was also interested in a new roof. On the second or third meeting he still did not give an estimate for a new roof (he did not want to do repairs) even though by then I informed him of the amount the insurance would pay. I have a pitched roof and the house is attached on both sides. A row of shingles was of the top of the roof . The neighbor would allow access to the back yard over his fence. Arnie indicated the job would involve more work. We sat down to discuss the project and he said he would mail an estimate to me in a couple of days. It never came. I called his cell phone several times and he did not answer. called his office two or three times and the person said "he was back-logged and would get back to me." I waited again and still did not hear from him. I have been very concerned about a leak in the roof which caused stains and black mold in my dining room ceiling which had been taken care of in June by a mold remediation company recommended by Angie's list. They did a great job but said I should make sure the roof was repaired and wait for a couple of heavy rains before fixing the ceiling which still has a 3X3 foot hole covered by plastic from the remediation. Arnie knew how anxious I was about getting the roof done! On our last meeting he said the work could be started in about 2 weeks (his other jobs were in the works) . After more unanswered cell phone calls and finally another call to his office over a week later I said it was urgent that Arnie call me back, I was told she would contact him right away. She later left a message on my phone asking me to call her. I did. Then she told me that Arnie said I " would need a dumpster to hold all the wood from the roof" and the bottom line was after wasting my time, he cancelled out of the job. I cannot evaluate his work since he clearly didn't do any. I feel that as a professional, he should have known from the start what the job would entail. He kept me waiting with a leaky roof with danger of more ceiling problems and a mold recurrence only to have his office girl tell me he would not be doing the job. He never had the courtesy to call me back himself!. I was very disappointed in this business.

Our house was damaged when a large oak tree fell during a storm. The tree landed on the roof of our house, tearing up the roofing shingles. Before the tree came to a final rest, the branches tore away parts of the vinyl corner posts on the house and punctured and scraped a number of the vinyl shakes on the siding. In addition, the trim around some of the windows was damaged. The tree also tore down the eave on the back of the house, and with it ripped the gutter, fascia and soffits. A neighbor recommended Blake Windows, Siding and Roofing and the owner of the company promptly came to give me an estimate. Arnie Blake arranged to cover the roof with a tarp while he arranged for the repair of the damages. His workers even climbed onto the roof with the tarp in bad weather to assure that my home was protected. Mr. Blake was very responsive to any questions I had and patient as we decided on roofing shingle brand, product and color. In addition to loaning me shingle sample ?boards?, he provided me with addresses of houses where I could see an entire roof finished with the shingles and colors I was interested in. He almost always answered the phone himself when I called him; and those few times that he was unavailable, he returned my calls promptly. As anyone who has dealt with contractors or any professional knows, this is an important element in having a successful provider-customer relationship. My complicated job was completed by the date promised in my contract. Perhaps the most impressive benefit of hiring Blake Windows,Sidng and Roofing is that Mr. Blake?s personal attention even extended to interceding with my insurance carrier to make sure I was receiving all the funds I was entitled to under my coverage. This was invaluable. To sum up, I would highly recommend Blake Windows, Siding and Roofing to anyone, and I would certainly use him again, if the need should arise.

Arnie Blake of Blake Windows, Siding and Roofing inspected the roof, took photos and gave a detailed estimate. We had gotten several estimates and Blake's pricing was comparable and he gave the most detailed written estimate. When I had questions both before and after signing the contract, he responded promptly to my phone calls. When he came to sign the contract with both homeowners, Arnie again patiently reviewed the needed work and materials to be used. We were concerned that work would have to be delayed until spring. But Arnie did all necessary measurements, and had the skylights prepared so when we had a few warmer days, he was ready to work. He said the job would take about a day, maybe a little more due to the shortness of daylight and it did take a day and a half. The cleanup was amazing. It looked like a foot of debris in the driveway by mid afternoon, but all was completely removed, absolutely no mess by the end of the first day. Arnie came by for payment the day after all work was completed and again reviewed the work done and showed photos of the work in progress and completed. He arrived promptly for appointments, very patiently explained the work and answered all questions, and returned phone calls quickly. We are all happy with the results. The cost quoted above, $5200 was my mothers' half of the total cost which included a minor repair to her garage roof. I would use Blake Roofing again and definitely recommend this company to others.

Arnie was very professional and described what he was going to do before the actual job. He was able to fit me in quickly, as I need to replace my roof to keep my insurance. His crew came and installed quickly, although there was a slight delay due to the weather being way too hot to work (over 100 degrees). I would definitely recommend him to friends and family.

Roofing was done 9-11. Was able to select the roofing colors from Arnie. He uses the GAF Timberline roofing system and describes it in detail and how it is different than the standard roofing. . You can check out the GAF timberline system on the computer. The warranty is a GAF system warranty that appears superior than the other roofer I interviewed who did not talk about any warranty. The price was good compared to the other roofer who was going to charge slightly less but whose quality of material, warranty, and workmanship was not as good as Blakes. My roof was an intersecting roof. He used 3/4 plywood making a strong roof. The old roof was removed.. This created alot of garbage and dirt that was removed and not even a nail remained after the cleanup, which was very good. The roofing was done within the timeframe he gave. The hurricane Sandy came by about two weeks ago and the roof held up superbly. This was the second time I used Blake because he is responsible and even after the work is performed he follows up . The work is explained in detail and everything is legal, insured etc. The siding was beautiful and it was quickly done. My presence was not needed .

. I have been happy with the result, as I have had no problems with leaks or water damage since the work was done. The only hitch in the plan was that it took forever to get a sunny day to do it! Since we had a particularly wet spring last year, the work was done about three months after we originally agreed to do it, but of course this was not a fault of Mr. Blake! When we had a possibly good day, he called me and the work was done in one day. He arrived promptly with his men and left them to do the work. When I saw the mess of an old roof that was on my lawn, I almost fainted. but by the end of the day, the men had cleaned it all up and left it for the sanitation department to pick up. In general the work was very clean. Mr. Blake stopped by several times during the day to check the progress, and was always helpful. In general, I am very please with the work and would recommend them highly.

It was done in one day as he had said. The workers came early in the morning and left early afternoon, after cleaning up.

He said they would only be able to do the work if they had installed the roof initially. I was disappointed that they would not do the work. I would have potentially hired them for additional work.

Arnie was great. During the initial consultation, he pointed out things that other contractors failed to notice. He came in on budget and his crew did a great job at cleaning up when they were finished. We're getting a lot of compliments on the new siding from our neighbors.

Since,i haven't touched my roof in about 20 years and it was about time to change it. The service was great and they attended us very quickly and gave us a reasonable price for the new roof and replacement of the gutters. Love the fact after the men have finished working for the day, they keep everything clean and all to the side. I highly recommend them :)

I am very pleased with the work they did. In fact, after they finished we had a bad storm and the roof held up perfectly. They did a beautiful job, were on time and they clean up was excellent. I would recommend them anyone.

He is very, very interested. He educates his customers and shows pictures. I was pleased with him.

Great experience. Arnie and Chris were very punctual and always kept in touch. It was easy to get a hold of them, and they always returned my calls in a quick manner. We had squirrels coming in because of there was no flashing on our home. They were literally eating through the drywall. We called 5 roofers for an estimate on this job. Three showed up. Arnie Blake was the only roofer who came back again, and did so when he said he would. Chris was the one who did the job. He was courteous, and when I inspected the work he did, he was cooperative in addressing the issues I had concern with. He wasn't in a rush to quickly leave. He took all his materials and garbage with him. Although the job was just finished yesterday, I will have to wait the winter out to see how the squirrels react to their new barrier. I hope this works - I will do an update, should I need to call Blake Windows, I'll let you guys know how this turned out - but so far it's been a good experience.

The service performed was exceptional. The installation went very well and was done beautifully. They explained everything that was going to be done before the job started. They were very professional, punctual, extremely neat and the pricing was reasonable, too. I would highly recommend them to anyone. It was a great experience using Blake Windows, Siding & Roofing from start to finsih.

Our brick home was built around 1930. We knew major construction upgrades would have to be made when we purchased the house and chose Blake Windows, Siding and Roofing. After speaking with several contractors, we found Blake to be professional and knowledgable and were very pleased with their estimate. The first job was our windows! As much as we loved the original stained glass, cold air escaped from our home during summer months and warm air escaped each winter. Each window was replaced without disturbing our daily household routines. Best of all, about 12" of stained glass remained above each newly installed window. It was very comforting to know that all window replacements came with a 20 year warranty. The work was done in a professional manner and the windows were beautiful when complete. Our home was left clean of all debris, as promised, inside and out. Our 80 year old home came with an 80 year old garage and roof. You expect a roof to just do it's job but they come with 80 year old "leaks". We always worried about water getting in the the garage and house during heavy rains/snows. It is great not having those worries and also knowing we can utilize the garage and nothing will be damaged by rain/water. Both roofs made our entire home look newer. We were extremely pleased with the end result. Again, as promised, all debris was cleaned and hauled away. We also had the garage door, front and back entrance doors replaced. When everything was complete we were thrilled. Our home was now structurally sound and just as important to us, the character of the home remained. Thank you Arnie. You got us through these renovations by always being there for us, always being professional and always leaving us with beautiful work. I'm sure we'll need you again in the future.

Overall, the quality of the work was fantastic and the price was well worth everything we had done - excellent materials and craftsmanship. We are extremely satisfied with the final product in terms of both quality and beauty. The initial planning process and explanations of materials and work to be performed were thoughtful and detailed. The various work crews (cement / brick, windows, doors, roofing, leaders & gutters, etc.) were respectful and professional. We only had 2 concerns throughout the entire project: project management and clean up at the very end of the work. With regard to project management, we must first emphasize that this was a big outdoor job involving 5 different work crews as winter was setting in. Things got off to a great start, but as the job got bigger and more involved it was clear to us that this contractor had another project going on at the same time - and ours was not priority. It also seemed that resources could have been managed more efficiently. At several points, there were only one or two workers doing the outdoor siding, so our siding job took 3-4 weeks instead a few days. Other things, such as the concrete and windows - while a great job was done, felt rushed and the clean-up was overlooked. Also, towards the end of the project, there were many minor outstanding items discussed with the contractor that we had to continually follow-up with. This again indicated to us that the contractor was more focused on another job as ours was winding down. With regard to clean up, of all the work we had done it was the insulation and siding with which we had the biggest clean up issues. When the contractor deemed the work finished, and collected/cleaned up the larger trash and debris, we were left to clean up the little stuff - long nails, screws, small pieces of siding and insulation - around the house and in the backyard where the crew staged their supplies. In the end, we highly recommend this company for the quality of their work and materials. Our house is more beautiful, secure, warmer in winter and cooler in summer than ever. The lead man is respectful, knowledgeable, fair and nice to talk with. The price for the work performed was a great bargain. We would simply note that if you have a lot of different projects to be accomplished (windows, roofing, siding, leader & gutters, concrete brick work) the customer should focus on one project at a time or be willing to stay on top of the project management, including follow-up & clean up, from beginning to end. If you have only one or two related projects (i.e. roofing and siding, or windows and siding) this company would serve you quite well and is definitely worth your time and money.

THEY WERE VERY GOOD AND PROMPT. I WILL BE USING THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE TO REPLACE THE UPSTAIRS WINDOWS. THEY ARE NEAT AND CLEAN WORKERS. THEY TAKE CARE OF ANY PROBLEMS YOU HAVE AS THEY GO.

HE SCORED A LITTLE LOW, BUT A LOT OF LITTLE DETAILS WEREN'T DONE WITHOUT HIM TELLING THE INSTALLER. THEY WERE BASIC THINGS ANY EXPERIENCED INSTALLER WOULD KNOW. THE PRICE WAS GOOD, BUT HE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR FUTURE USE.

THEY ARE VERY GOOD. THEY GAVE ME A FREE PRICE QUOTE. THEY GAVE ME A PROMPT RESPONSE. THEY ARE DOING A REALLY GOOD JOB. THEY ARE PICKING UP AFTER THEMSELVES. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN AND I ALSO RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS ROOFING REPAIRS.
