Description of Work: I booked an appointment two days in advance with County Tree Service. They never showed up and did not respond to two calls asking if they had been detained. To date, I still have not heard back from them.

He seemed very knowledgeable. He seemed to know what he was talking about. It is possible I will have him remove some large branches in August. He was quite average, not outstanding. He didn't charge anything for the consult. He came right away. He did comment that he was upset about comments made on Angie's List a while back which was a little off putting to me but he didn't display anything that I could complain about.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from County Tree Preservation for taking down some large branches. It was signification removal of branches; basically it was half a tree. I also asked him to come to consult about why a tree was oozing dark-colored sap.

For the tree trimming, they arrived with some big equipment. We needed to move some cars to accommodate them. They did a really good job trimming down the biggest dead or diseased branches and cleaning up their mess. Four times a year, they come around and spray our trees with horitcultural oil. Ron sends an employee who does a very nice job. They have to go in and out of the backyard so they always close and lock the gate. On the most recent visit, our neighbor's children and dogs were outside so he wanted to reschedule unless the neighbor didn't mind taking the kids and pooches in for a bit (they were fine with that). The spraying commenced and the guys was gone in about 15 minutes.
Description of Work: We have been using County Tree for years. Ron Cook was the professional caretaker of the trees on our property before we moved here in 2005. On an acre of land surrounded by giant oaks, you need a good tree person. He actually cabled our split tree at the front of the house before we moved in and it's doing just fine. So we have two jobs to discuss here: maintenence of our evergreens (for bugs & disease), and tree trimming. Anyway, I think it was the middle of 2011 when he did about $1000 of work trimming trees around the property. We told him we had about a grand to spare and could he take care of those most in need of work so he came out, looked around and made a good assessment of what needed fixing. We said yes to some things and no to others and ended up with about a $980 bill give or take.

Owner and workers showed up on time. Politely asked us to move our cars. We asked for an adjustment in service (added a small ornamental tree) which they did for no additional charge. We left in the middle of service. When we returned, not only were all the giant dead/dying limbs gone, but the property had been cleaned perfectly (all dead leaves and branches raked and removed). We have used this company for 6 years for annual tree maintenence (spraying for bugs). They are a good, reliable company. I highly recommend them. The owner (Ron) is a little rough around the edges, but a good guy. To justify the responsiveness grade, we had asked for this service several months ago. Then there were multiple rainstorms, and a big flooding storm with lots of downed trees, so the company needed to tend to emergencies first, but I felt there was still a bigger delay then needed to be.
Description of Work: We had major dead/dying limbs trimmed from enormous overgrown oak trees on an acre surrounding our house.
