7/19/22-7-20/22 I called this plumber because I had water around my toilet. They came and also suggested replacing the water heater and the sump pump, which I agreed to. The bid for the services was $8200. Not knowing much about costs in this are, I accepted it. They replaced the water heater and the sump pump and did some plumbing in the space below the upstairs bathroom, including supposedly replacing the shut off valve for the toilet upstairs.. Afterwards, I checked online and found that it normally takes 2-4 hours each to do installation of sump pump and water heater. I priced out the replacement water heater and sump pump that were purchased by them at Home Depot at about $1000 total. I am not sure what the plumbing supplies for the bathroom cost. That means approximately $7000 was labor...I have seen other people in this area say they were charged $250/hour by this firm this year. $7000/$250=28 hours of billed time. They were not here for 28 hours. They left two holes in my bathroom ceiling. In addition, the water is still running from the shut off valve and the service people told me that I needed to replace the toilet. They said there was water running out of the fixture and that I needed a new toilet--what had actually happened was the refill tube had jarred loose and was shooting water up. Once I reattached it, there was no water coming out of the fixture.

I guess they were backed up because we hired them several months ago and they just got it done. There were things that came up that we didn’t expect and I probably could have gotten people to give me a better quote. The quality of their work wasn’t that good. They were done on time but it was a problem getting here.
