He didn't secure the wainscoting properly and the moisture caused it to buckle. He put the tiles over that so the tiles that were on that buckled and popped off. The wall is naked at the moment because we had to take everything off and don't have the money or time to fix it right now. I would tell people not to go to him. He was not professional and talked too much about his family and their problems. He brought his underage child and step child to help him do his work. He would come work for a few hours and then leave. Then he would come back a couple of days later and work for a few more hours. I never knew when he was coming. Our quality was not good. I know people who have had him do stuff for them and they think he is absolutely wonderful.
Description of Work: Mr. Fix It put tiles in my bathroom and helped me put a tub in.

First wrote: Dave is very capable and conveys the sense that he knows just what he is doing. Then, he proves it by doing the job correctly! Dave responded quickly to a referral from a friend, explained what he would do and waited until we were ready to have the work done. And, he is happy to explain what he is doing and why he is doing the way he is! I learned a lot in the process. Recent experience: I had to re-install the heat vents myself. When I called to get help removing the galvanized pipe from under the crawl space I received no response.
Description of Work: First wrote: Dave Elliott replaced worn galvanized water pipes and valves, in the process re-configuring and simplifying the water pipe layout. For the first time since we've owned this house, we have great water flow! Dave worked fast and came in under budget! Recent experience: I discovered that the bathroom heat was not working. This led me under the crawlspace where much of the plumbing work was done. I found garbage that was left behind and heat vents that had be taken down. Galvanized pipe - that should have been removed - was hanging off of the crawlspace ceiling, making it difficult to move and fix the heating vents.
