Although we did not use Ishmael, I would not hesitate to use him in the future. He showed up for the estimate on time, spent about an hour with us, and was very patient and professional.

Ishmael is great! Incredibly nice, easy to work with and he delivers what he promises (workmanship, timeliness and professionalism). I would without-a-doubt have Ishmael do work for me again.

Ishmael was amazing. Incredibly professional. Shows up and leaves on time, which is essential in a co-op building. Covered all surfaces so that minimal dust was left behind. Worked in a short timeframe. Floors are beautiful. Went out of his way to find replacement tiles for those that couldn't be sanded and refinished. We recommend him highly!

Ishmael and his crew did a great job installing new hardwood floors in our home. He was a pleasure to work with; punctual, knowledgeable and does high quality work. He was happy to discuss a range of options with us and never tried to steer us in a direction based on price. Ishmael also took the time to speak with our contractor to make sure their efforts were coordinated. The job was completed on time and the finished product looks great. We chose to work with Ishmael over some bigger companies largely because we felt comfortable working with him and knowing that he'd be overseeing the job personally. We were well rewarded for that decision.

Ishmael and his team did an excellent job. His quote was on the low end of the other 5 quotes I received and the quality of his work was extremely well done. Ishmael is very responsive to texts and phone calls and took his time walking me through the whole process and educating at the same time. He was punctual and showed up when he said he would and showed up to complete all of the work within a week of providing a quote. The floors looked brand new when he was done with them and probably increased the value of the house in the process. He paid attention to details and took the time to patch or repair any piece of floor that was previously damaged. I would not hesitate to recommend Ishmael to any of my friends or acquaintances as I know he can handle any size job with care.

Cannot say enough of how much of a professional Ishmael is. From the start of the job to the finish he was a consummate professional. The apartment is a co-op and the board required a lot of information in order to approve the work. Ishmael was very responsive to all my request and promptly delivered all the documentation. He was also very responsive to all my questions and could easily be contacted whenever I had a question. His quote to do the job was reasonable and the job he did was excellent. I highly recommend his services and would not hesitate to hire him again for any future flooring needs.

Ishmael was a consummate professional from beginning to end. He responded to emails promptly. We set up a time for him to come in and give me a quote. He showed up on time and gave me the best quote of 4 that I solicited. We scheduled the work by email. He provided my building with all necessary documents. On the day of the job he showed up exactly on time and finished the whole job in one day. The job he did is FANTASTIC! I cannot believe how beautiful the floors look, no one in our family believed they could possibly be finished so beautifully. Ishmael was pleasant and reliable throughout this entire transaction. We have already decided we will hire him to do the other rooms in our apartment. I do not have one negative comment, this experience was fantastic!

Ishmael was flexible, sensitive to our timing needs, always positive and professional. His quote was very reasonable given the reviews I had read about his work. From the very beginning when he was willing to show up at 8AM to do a quote, all the way to the job being done on time as quoted with everything going smoothly. What impressed me the most is when there was a slight misunderstanding with the management company Ishmael was fast to remedy the situation and make everything right as quickly as possible. I don't know when we will need any more floor work done but Ishmael will always be my first, last and only call.

Ishmael is a true professional. He and his crew all worked neatly and were a pleasure to deal with. Also, Ishmael was always at the job site. I had wood floors installed in 2 large rooms about 10 years ago, but they weren't installed very well by the contractor at the time. I had gaps in the wood planks and some spots where the poly finish had come up. I hired Ishmael to make the wood floors look good, as well as blend into adjacent hallway wood floors. He did everything he said he would do and the floors look fantastic. The many gaps in the wood disappeared and everything blended together perfectly. Since we didn't want to sand the floors down to bare wood, I wasn't sure what to expect or how good t he floors would look. I was very impressed when Ishmael was done.

Ishmeal was incredibly professional and thorough. He was able to do some very detailed work to match existing flooring, working with inlays and working around built-ins. In addition, his crew were friendly and hard working. The job was beautifully finished and they took great pride in their work. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wanted a job well done!

My floors look beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!! I am not only happy, but ecstatic because my floors were really in bad condition before Ishmael and his crew made them gorgeous. My apartment had been painted just before Ishmael and his crew made them beautiful, and you could see how crappy they looked in comparison to the paint job. Well, not anymore! In addition, I had tons of STUFF in my apartment literally everywhere! But Ishmael was not daunted in the least. He clearly explained to me what I needed to do to prepare and In his wonderfully calm, pleasant, and professional manner assured me not to worry and that everything would be fine--and it was!! I am so pleased. It's like having a new apartment! His crew were very nice guys, amiable and totally professional as well and did an absolutely beautiful job. There was even a noticeable piece of wood that somehow had been gouged out of the floor in my dining area and Ishamel fixed it. I couldn't believe it! It was like magic and now no one would know that wood was actually missing from that spot. Absolutely amazing! I highly recommend Ishmael to anyone who wants show room floors because that's what I've got. I am truly grateful to him and his crew for the excellent job they did on my floors. I am very pleased to say that Ishmael and his team did an Excellent job (especially, on the dinining room floor). We originally had natural Oak with 1 or 2 coats of polyurethane. Due to the wear and tear over the years we were not sure that all the stains would come out. So, at Ishmael's suggestion I went with a darker stain (Ebony). I am very pleased to say, it looks GREAT! I am planning in the future to have Ishmael and his team come back to do my livingroom the same color. I highly recommend Ishamel and his team. Carl who did all the sanding part of the job as well as staining, worked straight through. He only took a break when he was waiting for Ishmael to return. Ishmael, is such a stickler for detail that he went over certain spots on the dining room floor that had been stained (as he was not pleased with the iniitial application) which caused more drying time. This caused him and his guys to return later that evening at 6 pm to apply the first coat of polyurethane; and returned the next morning to complete the job in the time specified. I forgot to mention that I had some concern over the wiring since this is an old house. Ishmael check my panel and reassured me that it was okay and explained to me how they go about grounding the outlet). He is very knowledgable. Ishmael is a true professional. If you go with him you won't be disappointed.

Ishmael and his guys were extremely professional and punctual and they did a fantastic job. They moved alot of heavy furniture around and did it all with smiles and friendly faces. They arrived every day on time and spent very long days only taking a short lunch break. I would definitely use them again and recommend them highly.

Ishmael could not have more wonderful. I left a message on a Saturday morning about having emergency repairs on my floor and he immediately called me back. He could not do the work that weekend but scheduled a time to take a look at the damage and provide an assessment and an estimate. Ishmael talked to me for nearly 30 minutes about my floor and the possible solutions and what he could and could not do for it. He was the ONLY floor person that I spoke with (and I spoke with 7) that knew exactly what he was talking about and how to repair the floor. He was so incredibly knowledgeable, professional and kind. After so much frustration and anger regarding getting the floor repaired, Ishmael was fantastic to speak with about my options. He scheduled an estimate for the following week and called exactly at the time and on the day that he said that he would to confirm the appointment and location. Before he called I was able to have a temporary repair done on the floor so I did not need him in the end, but I would call him immediately for any floor need and I would recommend him very, very highly to anyone that requires work on their hardwood floors.

Ishmael was fantastic. He came in person to discuss the scope of work and offered me a fair price. He installed the flooring over two days and it turned out to be much more complex the originally thought, but Ishmael handled it with no problem. Extra Work involved removal and replacement of radiator covers, cutting down closet doors to fit, and measuring and cutting flooring in 2 closets. I would recommend Ishmael without hesitation.

Ishmael and his crew did an excellent job repairing and refinishing our Kitchen floor which was in terrible shape. They removed and replaced 2 boards which were cracked due to some water damage. The floors now look like new.

Ishmael came the day after I called to estimate the job, and arrived on time (a Thursday evening). He spent about a half hour measuring and calculating, and then gave me a detailed estimate with a breakdown of all the material and labor costs. I told him I'd call him the next day with a go-ahead, and he didn't urge or pressure me in any way to commit to the job. He estimated that the job would take 2-3 days, depending on when they could put down the first coat of polyurethane, and that they could start sometime the following week. I called him the next day (Friday) to approve the work, and he said he'd be there Monday morning. We agreed that I'd give him 50% of the fee before they started on Monday, and the balance on completion of the work. His crew arrived promptly around 9:30am and was courteous and very efficient, suggesting and helping me remove some pictures in the hallway to make sure they didn't get damaged. The work progressed quickly and they took care to minimize the dust and noise created. They had completed leveling and installing the floor by around 3:30, finished sanding and vacuuming by 4:30, and finished putting down the first coat of polyurethane an hour later. Ishamel didn't request the deposit until the end of the day, which surprised me since they had done 90% of the work at that point! The crew made sure to clean all the entryways and stairs thoroughly before leaving. They came back the next morning to install the moulding and put down the second coat of polyurethane, and were done by 10am. Overall they did excellent work, were fast, courteous and efficient, and didn't cause any accidental damage. I would certainly use them again.

He was really good so I hired him. He's really nice and he's really knowledgeable, I shopped around and his price was reasonable.

Considering the complexity of the job, they did an excellent job. My floor is not level and some contractors I talked to was either afraid to do the job because lack of experience or gave me a higher estimate to cover for unexpected cost. On the first day of the installation, I thought they cannot do it. After the first day (prep work & leveling) it went smoothly and did a great job. It was professionally done and would recomment the company. His price was reasonable comparing to all the contractors I screened.

Ishmael and his team are great. He was extremely responsive and was able to come out for a quote within a couple of days. His quote came in $1,000 less than another highly-rated Angie's List provider. He and his guys were incredibly accommodating to our tight schedule, working until 7:30 on a Sunday night to finish the job. The floors had been neglected for decades and were in terrible condition, littered with mystery spots and discoloration. Ishmael warned me upfront that he might have to weave in new wood in some spots, which could have gotten pricey. But these guys got every little spot out, hand-sanding in several places. The floors look brand new. They are extremely detail oriented and conscientious. We will have them back when we're ready to do our last two rooms.

He was excellent. They finished the job yesterday. My experience with them was excellent and I would recommend them. The fellow was nice, prompt, he showed up as promised, did the job and the work came out very good. I think his price was fair.

Ismael of Great American replaced a section of our 80 year old white oak floor, sanded, stained, and applied two coats of oil-based polyurethane. He understood the difficulty of the problem of repairing an old floor when others only wanted to remove and install a whole new floor. We considered all the options including replacing and installing completely new floors. We talked to several contractors and flooring professionals--clearly some wanted to make this a costly job. We liked the style of the old flooring and wanted to keep the old hardwood if possible--it had been sanded only once before if at all and had carpet since the 1950s. There was water damage near the radiator and two other locations. We discussed the whole process and Ismael spelled out everything he was going to do and why. He delivered as promised. It looks fantastic--even better than we hoped. He was very reasonably priced but price wasn?t the reason we picked Great American--he clearly knew his field and listened to our concerns. I checked in several times during the work and he did the job right. I?ve had floors done many times over the last 40 years and would put Great American at the top of the list. He is the owner and he is there the whole time with helpers.
