Yost & Campbell Heating & Cooling

I don't know. I'm in Kennedy. I have a tenant who led them in the house and he called me last night that they didn't do anything. They are good. I am bid them about 40 years now and they put in the house a boiler and they maintaining then. So I never had this type of a problem like this year, I don't know why. They said because so many emergency things happening and they have to go there so I don't know. I would use them again in the future.

They are an excellent and reliable company.

Professional, business-like. I ultimately went with another plumber, but appreciate the way Y&C dealt with me.

It didn't, no one showed up.

We have contract with this company for 3 years now. first two years went well, only minor repairs which were made on time. This year during regular maintenance technician found that "fuse" burned out and has to be changed and he will come back in 2! days to fix it. Heating system doesn't start without it. I keep calling company and ask for service, am asked to leave a message for service crew. one month later nothing have changed. luckily it's not that cold outside. Thinking of changing provider after this year contract is over.

Appointment window was 1-3pm and the rep arrived right on time so cannot fault him for that. We had a very construction discussion about our project, what was involved, potential hiccups and options and the verbal price indications seemed to be very competitive. Their rep was very very good and knowledgeable when on site. I cannot fault them at all for that and making the appointment was easy. They completely failed on follow through though, I never heard back from the company after the visit. I was promised three proposals with different levels of boiler efficiency and options based on our needs. This contrasts heavily with another firm who had a proposal to me in a matter of days. I rate their professionalism as D as the office staff I spoke to and the rep on visit were both very good. Not following up afterwards with the proposals is a big fat F so I give them D to be fair to the staff I did interact with.

I'm hesitating to give them an A because I was working with one of their partners and he just did not get back to me and I was really upset with him. There is a problem but if you get the right guy, it's great. I did competitive pricing and they were pretty much right up there with everyone else. They're not the cheap alternative. Quality of service was excellent. They were slow a couple of time but I have complete confidence in them now and that's the important thing. They showed up whenever they said they would. I've already used them twice.

Kevin Monahan visited our home, assessed the situation and provided information on installation of this type of air conditioning system. He sent a very fair proposal and advised us about rebate that was available. The workers who came to do do the job were skilled and professional. They did a wonderful job. We are very pleased with both service and quality of the product. We are enjoying the air conditioner - absolutely quiet and efficient.

From start to finish, Yost and Campbell was terrific! Price was competitive, work was top notch/clean and professionally finished. Only the best quality materials appear to have been used and the final product looks GREAT! I would trust for additional work and would recommend to anyone. The ownership is involved in all aspects making sure the process runs and smoothly and efficiently as possible. Anyone I've dealt with at the company was super courteous and responsive. They even helped me complete ALL ConEd rebate applications (which can be a real pain) to ensure max rebate received for BOTH conversion AND equipment. Look no further! This is the company to work with.

The reception person that came out was very misleading. I needed to have an oil to gas conversion, and she said they could have it done all in one day. She also said that I should be able to have the gas working before the fall arrives. The company made many false promises on the completion date. All they needed to do was be truthful with me.

If I had not been directly involved in the entire process, by pushing to get permits, pushing to send in paperwork for inspections, pushing to communicate with ConEdison (for meter upgrade), I'd still be waiting for the installation to be completed. Now, 6 months after installation was completed, the MobileLink stopped working...this is the uplink that monitors the generator's condition and reports any problems via internet and cellphone. I have been waiting 6 weeks for a replacement, only to find out that one was never ordered by Yost & Campbell! Though I would give the installers high marks for their work, I have to give the owner and the person he designates to be in charge of all generator projects, both an "F". I have now contacted Generac directly for a replacement of my MobileLink device and they will be referring me to another service provider for my needs... Recommendation: Steer clear of Yost & Campbell!!!

Test were inconclusive, no leak found.The system was recharged (refrigarnt added), advised by the tech if there is a repeat of problem the system would have to be isolated and tested for leak.

I contacted Yost & Campbell for a quote to replace the gas control valve on my gas-fired furnace. When I called, I informed them that a ConEd technician had discovered the issue during a test of my gas system and had isolated the problem to that valve on the furnace. In response, I was told by Yost & Campbell that I had to schedule a service call ($145) for a technician to verify the issue and determine what part needed to be ordered. At the service visit, I learned that the process to "determine" the proper part consisted of the technician writing down the model and serial numbers of the furnace and reporting them back to the office. The service technician let me know that someone would contact me within a couple of weeks to schedule an installation appointment for the part. I never received a call from Yost & Campbell to schedule the appointment. Approximately four weeks after the initial service call, I contacted Yost & Campbell to find out about the status of the part order. I was told that additional information would be needed from my furnace in order for the part to be ordered and that another service call had to be scheduled. I scheduled the second appointment for roughly two weeks later when I would be able to take a day off from work and wait for a technician. At 3pm on the date of the second appointment, I received a call from Yost & Campbell stating that they would not be able to come that day because they were too busy and that they needed to reschedule. At this point, I asked if I could provide the additional information myself and was told that I could. I ended up calling back the following week with the information and was told that it would be "no problem" to order the part. After waiting another three weeks, I contacted Yost & Campbell again to inquire about the part order. I was told that someone would call me back with more information on the part status later that day. Two days later, I received a call from Yost & Campbell stating that they could not find a part for my furnace. End of story. No next steps. I asked to speak with a service manager to find out why it took two months, $145, a wasted vacation day, and much chasing on my end to find out the furnace could not be repaired. Naturally, I was told that someone would call me back. I have been waiting nearly a week now and have not received a returned call. Please save yourself time, money, and aggravation, and avoid Yost & Campbell.

Our old central air broke down. Yost provided great service and communication and pricing. It was a pleasure working with Tom and crew to get our condenser replaced. Recommended!

I had the owners of Yost and Campbell come to my house on two separate occassions to look at work to my existing AC system - that they put in. 1st visit early May. Said they needed to send a technician out to provide an estimate. Called 5-6 times to try to get that scheduled. About 1 month later finally got 2nd owner to come out again. Did not bring the right technician. Kept calling again for another 3 weeks to try to get an estimate or next step. No call back after being promised call back about 10 times. A huge waste of my time and 2.5 months out and I still don't have an estimate for the work I want done. Very, very frustrated and diappointed and will find a new service provider.

I used Yost & Campbell last year for winter service. Since the heating and a/c are central thru a heat pump. I had no reason to check whether the a/c was working properly until recently. A few weeks ago, I turned on the a/c & it did not work at all. It has been sweltering in my house for the last few weeks, but Yost & Campbell said that they could not come until 7/15. I toook the day off from my work & waited in my sweltering house for hours. The thermostat in my house reached 85 degrees. I called Yost & Campbell & they told me that they were not coming because it MIGHT rain. There was bright sunshine outside during this time. It was too late for me to call anyone else so I have to go another few weeks before I can find another service tech. The fact that Yost & Campbell was the only service tech on my system means that they must have done something to damage my system. The lack of professionalism is astoundung because I had to chase them with multiple calls only to find out that they had no intention on showing up! This is the worst service of all time. DO NOT USE Yost & Campbell UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

We need to to install new ductless air conditioning units in our house and have been pleased with the service we've received on our units from Yost and Campbell. Though it's proven difficult to get service on weekends, the guys who come to the house are always courteous and professional and have always manged to get things up and running, However, this is the second time we tried to get something new installed. The first time we wanted to get baseboard heaters installed and had a very similar experience to the one described below. We ended up in that case, like this one, having to just give up and find someone else to do the work. Tom Monahan, the President of the company came out to look at our house and we discussed several options. We were promised a "detailed quote" with options in a few days. Almost two weeks later, only after calling a couple of times, did we finally get a one page quote that simply listed on option with a total price of $17,386. A relatively fair price, but I had specifically asked for a breakdown of the charges. When Tom was at the house he told us we might be eligible for rebates from ConEd but there was no mention of that in the quote. The quote does say specifically that we'd be responsible "for any additional work, including "unforeseen problems" at a rate "of itemized materials and our labor scale," but no mention of what the labor scale and no costs are itemized in the quote. We new two condenser installed installed and I had specifically asked Tom to show the price of installing each one and the indoor units that would accompany them, since we might want to do half the house this year and half the house next year. We had discussed this in some detail when Tom was here. O.K., so maybe the ten days or so since coming to the house forget that we had asked for some options (e.g. replacing our entire existing system or just adding to it) and maybe he just forgot about the rebates mentioned and our discussion of perhaps doing half the work this year and half next year. So, I tried replying to the email with the quote. No response. I tried emailing again. No response. I called, and was told that Kevin, the owner, would call me back that day. No call. I called again, and was told that Kevin or Tom, the co-owner who provided us with the quote, would call back the following morning or early afternoon. No call. Frustrating and very unprofessional. After having wasted three weeks trying to get Yost & Campbell to respond, we're having to go to other HVAC guys at the busiest time of the year. Even though we've been happy with the service contracts we have for our boiler and existing air conditioning, we're pretty disappointed with Tom and Kevin.

It has been a disaster since day one. They are arrogant and incompetent. They drilled holes in our radiant heat system causing thousands of dollars worth of damage. After that was fixed, they came back to complete the install and said everything was fine and ready to go, however they did not open the valves of the condensers so everything was running but putting out only warm air. They recently learned that the condensing drain is not working and water is coming out and causing more damage and now they are unresponsive.

It was so so cold and we just didn't feel the house was getting warm enough and he said it is what it is, you can't make it hotter. They're very good. They really are very thorough. They're also very pricey in my opinion.

Overall, I'd break it down two ways: the actual install and the adminstrative side Install Side was A++ They came on a Saturday to do the estimate. After i finalized the proposal, they were able to start install within 48 hours and were complete in 2 days. The workers left the house clean and everything seems to be working fine so far. I couldn't ask for anything better. Administrative Side was B Getting the quote took a few days. Paid invoice copy/receipt took 4 days. Missing booklets for the outdoor units with original serial number information. Rebate information was provided ad-hoc instead of a simple form with all the info. Shouldn't your installer ID# be included? Maybe it's me having high expectations like how i treat my customers. Overall, I had a good experience and would definitely recommend Y&C.

They've always been courteous with appointments. Technicians are very good and get whatever needs to be done quickly, but efficiently. Will stay as long as necessary when something more complicated needs to be done. With a contract, you have first calls.

Start of summer my unit which I know has a leak stops cooling the house. After Maxium Air couldn't fix it and made it worse, I called Yost and Campell even though there was an "F" rating. Overall, I felt the "F" rating was not representative of other reviews. The owner Kevin came to my house promptly and gave an estimate which I knew from checking around was not the cheapest but certainly within a reasonable range. I believe people should make a decent living doing an honest day's work. Kevin sent a crew a day early happily for me and the crew was professional and pleasant. I felt like they were trained to make a good impression and to be friendly. Right away the team leader told me going from the old R-22 pipe to the new, he will have to upsize the pipe and drill a hole in the wall. I was a little sceptical at first, but agreed that he could drill a hole into the basement wall. Since his suggestion would cost them time and material for them and not me, I knew it must have been necessary. Also, they were trying to do the job right, instead of taking a short cut. I had to leave to go camping with my son and his friends around mid-day. My wife said later, that they did a good job and left. Upon my return, I saw that they were able to relocate my defumifier, left the place clean and A/C was working fine. The company staff was leaving messages to follow up and the owner sent me a follow up message. He also asked me to put up a review and that didn't bother me. If I'm willing to put up a negative review, it's only fair that I put up a positive review. Overall, I'd call Yost and campbell again because they were very professional from beginning to end. Now, I do see a little leakage of air from lack of putty and or tape. I'll see if they can rectify that also in professional manner. Fingers crossed.

Provider was paid and did not complete the work. I have called them numerous times and they continue to give me the run around and it has been two months with this total process. The tenant is upset due to not being able to use their oven.

They came when promised, job was done efficiently, staff was very pleasant & helpful. Very honest & responsive.

They were very good. I would use them again in the future.
