Innovative Air Solutions

I hired Innovative Air Solutions to install a split unit in our basement in 2022. They were responsive, professional and seemed to perform quality work. Our central A/C unit stopped working this week. I called Innovative and scheduled an appointment the next day. The technician was professional and communicated clearly; however, I feel that the price was unfair. I was charged a $99 emergency fee and a $99 diagnostic fee, which I understood from the outset. I was charged an additional $593 to replace a failed capacitor. The part goes for about $15 ([*** Link removed ***] and it took the technician about 30 minutes to replace it. My total bill, with taxes, was $857.

They were courteous, informative and patient. They took care of the problem and made sure it works properly. Everybody, from the people who came out to the people from the office was a pleasure to deal with.

We have a high velocity central air conditioning system for the house. Many people don't deal in that. Innovative Air Solutions does, and I have had to pay the price and the guy has been here 2-3 years now, and he knows the system well. I pay the price because running around trying to save $50 isn't worth it to me. The technician that came here was really outstanding and knew the system well. He was extremely polite. He was extremely knowledgeable. He has been working with them for 12 years. He was neat and respectful too. A lot of these guys come in here and they are like animals and I have thrown a number of them out. I won't tolerate that. If you can't respect a customer's home, you shouldn't go there. This is our fourth season with them and I always ask for the same technician Mark, because he knows it well. He likes working with our system because he knows we do everything he tells us to do in the winter time. We cover it up and take it off in the spring. He comes in and it takes him 45 minutes to an hour to clean the evaporators. I know when he is done because I just throw the switch on, and we are ready for the season. They are not cheap, but then again because it is a specialty, I would assume that's why. They are very good. They really don't discount. They will give you a service for $199 and if you want unlimited service for the year, they will add $50 more on it, plus tax. My system is 10 years old, so I ask for unlimited service. They would charge $100 every time the guy would walk through the door. It's not cheap here. When you look up reviews, people think you can get fine work for no dollars, and that's not fair to the people doing the work. The people we work with are asking a fair price for excellent work.

What I didn't realize was that the Triple Play was not really anything more than the technician turning on the system to make sure it was working. I was a bit annoyed to hear that when the technician, Gary, explained that to me. I'm particularly sensitive and put-off by offers that aren't as good as what they seem, HOWEVER, when I expressed that dismay to Gary - without any annoyance or disappointment when I told him I didn't need that because I was capable of turning the system and feeling if cold air was blowing out of the vents - without a sales-y tone or agenda, suggested I consider the regular maintenance, which included a thorough check of all components, comprehensive cleaning, filter changes, etc. He clearly explained exactly what he was going to do, answered about 15 follow up questions I gave the green light. I proceeded to follow him around, asking more questions, having him show me how the system worked and explaining things I was not aware of even as the homeowner. He was patient and took the time to show me some basic things that I could do in the future to keep the system in good shape without necessarily needing maintenance (like changing the filters). He told me the system was working great, which surprised me because I assume he would tell me something was wrong so he could sell me something. I was particularly shocked when he told me the system didn't need any coolant; I've heard ALL these HVAC companies ALWAYS tell homeowners they need coolant. Anyway, it took him about 2 hours and I stalked him most of the time and he was very thorough. I am satisfied and will plan to use Innovative Air in the Fall when it's time to have the furnace and hot water heater checked. Guys on the phone were nice, service seemed honest and complete.

Sila was on time and very professional. It just didn't make sense to change providers when the cost would not be that much different over time.

Working with them was fantastic. There were no surprises and all of my concerns / questions were addressed promptly and completely. And when I say they are responsive and considerate, I can't emphasize it enough; they emailed my husband each day of the renovation to let him know what the electricity / AC / air quality situation would be when he arrived home from work, so he could plan his evening at home accordingly. (I mean, beyond, right?) They showed up on time, did exactly what they said they would, and were exactly on time and on budget. I've never had such a positive experience with contractors!

I have been using them for several years. They are reliable, competent, on time and very professional. They came to me on a recommendation and I have recommended them to others.

We had a few back-and-forths on the planning of the jobs, and they provided a list of options with prices broken out a la carte. They made a number of suggestions for work to be done and spent a lot of time educating me on the priorities of one versus another. I felt confident about this process. On the day of the work, their team arrived on time and did a fast job. They were respectful of my family being in and out of the house and they took good care not to make a mess of the place (tarps on floors, booties over shoes, tidied up after themselves). I was very pleased with the service and in the end felt pretty good about the price?even though I didn't have other quotes. I would recommend them to a friend for similar work being done, and will probably call them back for work on my heating system and radiators in the future.

I found both Greg and Mike to be arrogant, unprofessional and rude which made my decision to go with another HVAC Installer that much easier. The other HVAC Installer were courteous, professional and flexible in their pricing, offered a 2 year parts and labor warranty and complimentary system cleaning on the 1 year install anniversary. Greg/MIke push the Trane brand but online reviews, esp. from repairmen, are negative yet when I forwarded them to Mike, he told me didn't want to read them and to stop sending them. Train was sold to another company a few years ago and like most companies, cost-cutting resulted in quality issues. Innovative Air may do good work but their attitudes are unprofessional and sucks. I've had to deal with many contractors since buying my house and have not experienced anything like these two so would not recommend them to anyone no matter how good they think the are.

Innovative air was able to trouble shoot problems with an old house that others were not able to identify. They are clearly experts with old homes. The estimator was on time and knew more about our house than any other contractor that we met with. Their proposal was detailed and they did everything they promised. John, Matt and crew showed up when promised, finished on time and they were so clean that they left no trace of their work. We struggled to keep our house cool in the summer and warm in the winter, now even our old HVAC system can do the job with ease. They solved our problems and we are completely satisfied. We can highly recommend for any HVAC and insulation issues!

Service was performed in a highly professional manner. Technician took the time to check for leaks and charge the system very slowly and carefully. He was familiar with the idiosyncrasies of the R-410A refrigerant. The coils were cleaned thoroughly and the entire system tested for proper operation. Overall I was very pleased with the company and will use them the next time my system requires service.

The actual visual assessment went fine and he spent a lot of time talking to us. However, we never received a report as they promised in 2-3 days and I had to call and follow up 3 times so that I ultimately didn't receive the report for almost a month.

They were not responsive for service and ndash; this is unacceptable when dealing with heating. Emergency service costs were extremely high, and I found their service contracts were of little to no value. They covered very little and costs were very high.

I called up on July 10 for an estimation appointment to convert from oil to gas. I was told that the first available appointment would be middle to end of Aug. 1-1.5 mos wait for an appointment is beyond my comprehension.

They are professional, neat and knowledgeable. They are reliable and reputable. Their work is good. They will call to let you know if they are running even a couple minutes behind.

I waited 3 weeks to from the time I called their office until Mike Carlo came out to take a look at my home. He took detailed measurements and gave some suggestions. It took almost two weeks to get a proposal, which came in the mail with some other literature (too much) about the equipment that he uses. As he is BPI certified I asked him about the low-cost NYS loans that are available- he could not tell me about it off the top of his head but said he would provide all that information to me with the proposal- which he did not, nor did he even mention any financing options. Mike is knowledgeable about A/C's and is quite professional. We decided against the Unico system (small ducts) and opted for the more traditional system- his price was also more than we wanted to spend.

The day of the blizzard our gas heating went out. I immediately started calling heating and A/C companies. Of the 14 companies that I called, multiple companies were snowed in and many more companies interviewed me to see if I would make "their list". Innovative Air, called me back quickly, set my expectations as to when they'd be able to get out, which I really, really, appreciated. He then told me that he'd call me back within an hour to let me know who would be coming out to my house. Again, he was accurate, and I did get a call within an hour. Finally Matt told me that Peter would be out ot my house by late afternoon, and I'm happy to say Peter was early! How often does that happen? Now onto the work itself. Peter was very professional. I explained what the system was - which was that the heater pilot was out and that it would not stay lit. Peter immediately said, that it might be the thermocouple might need to be replaced. I had also done my own research, and that hypothesis was consistent with "how stuff works" website. Once he looked at the situation, he provided another update and let me know how much longer it would take. Again, his assessment was accurate (which was approximately 20 minutes). I could not have been happier. At the end, he explained the cost breakdown, which was completely in line with my expectations. No hidden costs and no suprises.

The technician was very polite and professional. He worked quickly and made sure everything was working properly. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Their professionalism was very high. They made a very good impression, but the quote was too high so I went with someone else.

From the original estimate to project completion, Innovative did outstanding work. A rep spent 2 hours doing the initial estimate, which he also used to educate me on the differences between conventional and high velocity air conditioning, or HVAC, and what to expect in the installation process. I selected his bid not only because it was lower by about $1,000, compared to the other bid we received, but because Innovative could accomplish the job without sacrificing closet space, working within wall space, and because Innovative could camouflage the external elements effectively. Innovative took five full days to install the system in our 1,500 sq ft home and spent another full day fine tuning the system to ensure maximum efficiency and instructing us on how to use A/C, esp. how to avoid the mistakes homeowners who are accustomed to window A/C units typically make when they switch to central A/C. The result: - We now have our windows back, and the system operates quietly - The work crews cleaned up beautifully after each day's work - Bring on the summer months! Note: my cost estimate did not include two extras we purchased, which add another $1,500 or so to the cost. These extras are an air purifier and condenser cover for the winter.
