I went to check out the price for eight inch. interlocking bricks I was going to try to do it myself Mr. Nilton said its much harder then it looks. And was he right he sold me everything I needed no waste. He also took over the job and his men completed the work in one day. Cleaned up and it was like wow great .My wall was up and does it look great. I would have no problem in using them again. And Mr.Nilton came a few times to make sure the job was what I wanted, if I had any questions,or problems, concerns just ask. I did and he had no problem talking to me and showing me how this interlocking Brick works. He truly cared about his work.

Demolition went smoothly. Excavated dirt was dumped on the side of the house, debris was removed and block was delivered. Immediately, communication problems arose. Only one worker was moderately competent in English. No one seemed to be supervising. Overall masonry work was inferior: Bricks were not true and level, pointing was sloppy and inconsistent, blue stone and block trimming was completed without aesthetic considerations. The contract specified retaining walls would be ?interlocking block.? Instead, stacked and glued stone without clips, geogrid or other ?interlocking? devices was installed. Drain fabric, crushed stone and drain pipe was NOT installed behind retaining walls. The glue was improperly installed and after a few months large sections of the retaining wall and caps dislodged, creating a dangerous condition. The bluestone steps installed were patio sections ? not continuous step pieces. After one winter, chunks of mortar were falling from the steps and one side of the footing settled over ? inch. A number of wall caps had manufacturing defects and disintegrated. Finally, a landing cap protruded and scraped visitor's knuckles as they climbed the stairs while holding the railing. The contract stated the work was guaranteed for 2 years. My complaints about the materials and workmanship were sent a number of times within the first year. After repeated phone calls and registered letters, a small crew came to make some repairs a year later! The repairs were sloppy; cement was splattered on existing brickwork, re-glued retaining wall blocks (NOT reinstalled interlocked blocks) were loose again in a few weeks, the sinking front step footing was NOT corrected and the mortar dislodged after a few weeks, drainage was NOT installed, excavated dirt behind the retaining walls was NOT replaced (It also caused basement flooding because the dirt blocked drainage on the side of the house), and the NEW powder-coated railing was damaged after warning, IN WRITING, that the railing needed to be protected during repairs. On-site verbal communication with the workers was still a problem. Repeated calls and 2 letters from an attorney have been ignored. The problems were reported well within the 2 year guarantee period and are still unresolved. To summarize: The demolition and paver portion of the project was completed satisfactorily. Retaining walls, drainage, backfill and steps were totally inadequate. Look elsewhere if this is the kind of work you need.
Description of Work: Our cape-cod home needed new entrance steps, retaining walls and driveway. The project included: replace an existing retaining wall, widen driveway, install matching retaining wall after widening on opposite side of driveway, remove asphalt and install paver driveway, re-point existing brickwork, remove iron railings, remove, widen and replace concrete steps and landings leading to the front door. This contractor was recommended by a local real estate agent who used them to prepare homes for resale.
