My brother was trying to install a new faucet. I guess something went wrong and he had to call a professional to help. When I got home the floor and sink was covered in filth and water. The plumber was speaking to my brother in condescending tones and spreading dirt all around the kitchen floor with dirty paper towels. He couldn't even neatly put the paper towels in the trash bin, he just laid it on top of the cover. He charged over $500 and said there was a leak that he was daring my brother to do. I asked how much it would cost him to fix it and he said $200. What a rip off and what a jerk. Do not hire them.

Based on reviews I read on Angie's List, I called AMTECH when my AC, which is part of my buildings central air system, stopped working. While they responded quickly, the rest was downhill. Two technicians came to my condo and after taking the grate off and examining the unit, they showed me what looked like damaged wires and what they said was an oil stain on the system. When I asked if it could be refurbished, they said "no". They suggested that I buy a new unit for $3500 including labor but excluding tax. When I informed them that I would not spend $3500 until I got at least 1-2 more bids, they started to write-up a "service" invoice for $250. When I told them I would not pay for what was a "diagnostic call" , they ripped up the invoice and left. I guess they figured that a woman residing in a nice apartment was going to be an easy sell. Little did they know that I've run an organization that operates low-income housing for 25 years so I'm no patsy. The next company I called refurbished the unit for $750.

Eric is just the best! He came when he said he would, sized up the job and completed the work lightening fast! Since this was a messy job, I thought I would find soot everywhere, but they put boards down on the floor and insisted on coming and going through the storm door. His worker showed me how to use my new wireless thermostat and was so patient. As it turned out there was a problem with the water refill valve, and he has his Dad come to replace the valve. What a professional! He listened to the water run through the system for about half a minute and detected the problem. I can't tell you how happy I am with their work and demeanor. Eric called about two weeks ago to make sure that everything was working fine and to check in. I will stick with him whenever I need something done around the house that involves this type of work. He might have to wait a few more years before my water heater goes, but he will be the first one that I call.

They were in and out in an hour and they cleaned up nicely when they were done.

He figured out where the leak was coming from. He located the leak, coming from the toilet. He fixed it so that it wouldn't leak anymore. Then, he came back the next day and repaired it making it almost a brand new toilet. When he came back I also asked him to look at another toilet and he was able to repair it as well. We are very happy we found him! He was just phenomenal.
