Very professional and prompt. Ordered wood at 12:30. Was delivered and stacked by 5:00. Good quality.

We contacted Hickory Homes to remove a tree that had fallen into our backyard. The tree caused a lot of damage to our fence and pool. Hickory Homes not only removed the tree but they did a fabulous job cleaning up all of the debris that around the damaged area. We were very impressed with their work.

This is the second job on which we have used Hickory Homes. The first was a driveway repaving job that they completed satisfactorily, on time, on budget, and high quality. For this job, they pruned several large and tall trees on my property, cutting down numerous branches. They completed the job on time, on budget, and cleaned up the site debris satisfactorily. The company is responsive and easy to work with.

We worked out the price and within the next week he set up a window that he will chop the tree down. He came as he promised and left it nice and clean. Great job and will use again.

I asked them to leave some of the wood for firewood. Instead of leaving wood that I could handle, they left the base of the trunk -- huge chunks that it takes two men to move -- and to get someone to cut it for firewood would be a major expense. when I called them, they did not care.

I bought a face cord of firewood. Was assured that it is seasoned. The wood is wet, hisses, smokes and doesn?t burn. The company assures me that I am the only one with the issue. I log into Angie?s List, turns out I am not the only one. Lesson learnt for me. Always read reviews before you deal! They refuse to remove it. ?We don?t have that kind of man hours?. Well, my time of course is free.

They used good judgment in pruning the trees and did A good job on the cleanup. One of the trees they took down was very close to our house and they use appropriate care to make sure no damage was done.

They do pretty average service and they have a pretty average place. Everything went as expected. Obviously not memorable enough to be even sure if that was the right company. They were certainly reliable for a quarter woods for the winter season. Everything went fine as scheduled. They were a bit pricey.

I ordered several cords of split firewood to be delivered, the wood was supposed to be seasoned and ready to burn, it was not, it was all cut to different lengths some of which exceeded 24 inches even, it was not seasoned long enough to be sold as "Seasoned" firewood, , moisture content was well over %45 (as checked by my moisture meter). I never called them to address the issue so I can not say if they would have corrected the problem, I have dealt with bad deliveries of wood before and usually it is not a mistake its just a bad provider, and the problem just gets "resolved" by them dropping off more wet wood. The only real resolution is to stack the wood for use next season, and never use that provider again.

They are very good. I have a really long drive way. They have been terrific thorough all winter and this is the first time I used them. They responded quickly and professionally in anything extra that I have asked them to do or increased the shuttling; the guys who come are more than happy to take it on so they have been great. They are very fairly priced and very professional.

Delivered on time and for a great price

The short version: I was very dissatisfied with the service as it was not dropped off at the requested location. The wood was wet because it rained due to the fact it was just left on the sidewalk. I was not notified of this and came home to a wet heap of firewood that I then had to haul to a dry location. For these reasons I found Hickory Homes & Properties to be unprofessional and uncommunicative. The long version: I called on a Monday for a Tuesday delivery but due to rain and a scheduling convenience for Hickory Homes & Properties it turned out to be a Wednesday delivery. I was hesitant at first because I was unable to be home for the Wednesday delivery but went ahead with it anyhow. I received a voicemail from the driver stating he was on his way which was great but did not hear anything else after that so I assumed everything went as planned. When I got home from work many hours later I was surprised to see a huge pile of wood on the sidewalk, exposed to elements (it did rain and the wood got wet) or anyone passing by looking for seemingly free wood. Full disclosure - I do not have a driveway, but many steps down to my front door. If the delivery person was unwilling to leave the wood in the requested location I should have been notified or simply should not have made the delivery. At the very least the driver could have placed the tarp I had provided over the firewood pile. It took me over an hour, by myself, hauling over 25 bundles. That evening I left an email with the main contact explaining my displeasure with the service with no email response. I did receive a phone call/voicemail but for whatever reason the message was 0 seconds long thus contained no message. The next day I called Mike and explained my experience and he claimed the driver tried to contact me about the situation and he made the decision to leave the pile of wood on the sidewalk. As Mike continued to explain this his cellphone reception was getting spotty and the call was dropped (I was calling from a landline thus could not have been on my end). I tried a few times to call him back and got only voicemail. I never heard back from him after this point. I chose Hickory Homes & Properties because I wanted to support my local business and because others had positive things to say about their service. There were certainly others with more reviews, but felt the urge to go local. I now regret this decision and wished I had chosen another service. The product was wet (as explained above so I cannot say if it was dry when it was delivered), many of the pieces are quite dirty and there are a few large an unusually sized pieces. This is the first time I've had firewood delivered so my only comparison is the bundles I have purchased at gas stations or homedepot.

Please see above. They gave me the estimate on a Saturday, and because it was the middle of winter, they were able to get the work done by that Monday and Tuesday. I was happy with the responsiveness and turn around time.

The tree removal service was excellent! Three men were on there almost all day. They were clearly very experienced and the rapelling put on quite a show for all the neighborhood kids. That first day they also ground out the (very large) tree stump and chipped a fair amount of wood for us to use as mulch. If I had them cart away the tree that day the rating would have been all "A". The return visit was obviously with lesser skilled workers to split wood and stack it. That is discussed in detail above. If they had either carted off the remaining wood and garbage that day, or returned to complete the job, my overall rating would have been better. I woudl have been happy to pay additional for them to take care of that rather than have it sitting in my yard for over a year. That said, if I were home that day perhaps it would have finished differently and I should have made more than one or two phone calls to resolve it.

They were great, two guys came by and dropped off the firewood, what was amazing was that they delivered Christmas Eve which i was shocked but pleased. They came and dumped the firewood in the area I selected. The wood was great quality and much better than the wood one would get at a Home Depot or such. This is our first house and so when we moved in we looked around for companies to deliver firewood, The pricing was also very competitive and I can now say I found a new company to order firewood from. Their staff was really nice and when I am ready for landscaping services I know who to call

My mother had several branches down and one that was overhanging the house by the electrical wire. I had Hickory Homes come to do a lot of work to remove a number of the branches and removing some trees. We were very happy with the job and especially glad we could get it taken care of before Hurricane Irene.

I called various companies to get a price on a cord of wood. HHP's price was good and that had supply for immediate delivery. WHole transaction was complete in less than one week.

Bulls in a china shop disguised as professionals. Beware, like every other contractor they will tell you what you want to hear. For what they were hired to do, they did do. I had them take down trees but , at completion of job Hickory homes left the following: * My roof, less than a year old has patches on it now (Functional and esthetic issue) * Said roof warranty against leakage is now null void (My primary issue) * My retaining wall that was not in very good shape to begin with is in much worse shape * My driveway has several impact marks that need filled TFeel free to contact me if you would like to learn more, but I wish I was never referred to Hickory homes

Overall it was a good experience and I would definitely use them again. I was only disappointed that they did not complete chopping the firewood - there are still several large logs. However, this is partly my fault as I never called them to follow up.
