Ground breaking was timely; framing went along pretty well, but then it started to go bad. There were many days, even though the weather was good, that there was no one at site. Trash was left all around the building site and only now has been removed after numerous calls and emails. There were a number of issues with the design and we had to do a major change, that I had to approve, even though it resulted in a room which is marginally useful and a lot different from the plan. LCH also made changes without my approval, such as dropping the garage down from one step between the house and garage to three; and changing types of windows from awning to one sideways slider in the dining room-which looks ridiculous. I did agree to an unfinished area in the basement, but I didn't relaize that meant that wires, pipes, studs and insulation would be totally exposed. As we were going along, there were a number of change orders. Many of them resulting in a credit to my account because many things had to be upgraded from the bargain-basement products LCH was going to install. Last week I did finally get my certificate of occupancy-9 months after the foundation was poured. And LCH still has had a punchlist of items to complete, that is over one month old and remains incomplete. Calls and emails result in one workman coming over to complete one item on the list. This has resulted in many difficulties in my moving process, because I can't complete my move-in until I can unpack, which I can't do when the flooring (for example) is incomplete.
Description of Work: Lee Custom Homes (LCH) was to build my home in about 120 days; LCH was to do the plans, obtain the permits and build the home we agreed upon.
