Angela was great work meet, I hope to be able to do the bathroom at a later date.
Description of Work: Angela was very honest and gave me a good estimate for remodeling a bathroom. A few days later she also gave me an estimate for painting the whole house, but that estimate was very high, compared to others we received. We could not afford to do the bathroom remodel at all, and higher a different contractor to do the painting.

I needed a few repairs for a townhouse that we are selling. Hire Her Home Improvement was just the right firm to use. I was able to have an estimate done one day after my first contact and the work done within a week. Angela was flexible to my work schedule. As many know, having work done around the house is not always a pleasant experience, this was the opposite of that. Angela was courteous, knowledgeable, trust worthy, reliable and totally client service oriented. Her workers were the same. This renewed my faith that there are people out there that are willing to work with you to get jobs done. Pricing was completely fair and the work done was totally satisfactory. I will recommend her and her company to all I know. Angela took the time to listen to what was needed and clearly explain the work that they would do. I felt involved in the entire process and she was truly concerned about doing a good job. Thank you!

After reviewing all of our records, we did not find any inquiry posted from this customer. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused them! The only possible reason that this member did not get a response from us may have been due to power outages during the hurricane. Things went very well. They worked quickly and efficiently.
Description of Work: I reached out to Hire Her Hom Improvement through Angie's List and they promptly responded. All appoontments were set up via email. I scheduled a consultation on a specific day with a specific time, which is great. The didn't give me the elusive 4 hour time block that most companies do. The technician actually showed up a half hour early, looked at the generator and my current electrical set up and gave me an estimate. He thoroughly explained everything to me and made sure I had no other questions. I hired them and set up another time and date when the installation would be completed. They came precisley on time and got to work immediately. They made sure I was comfortable using the system and had no other questions. They even offered to move my garbage to the frnt of the house! What a great experience, money well spent!

Great. These folk are polite, professional and clean! Tony installed the lighting and solved all problems thrown at him by the hidden beams and other surprises of the house construction. I highly recommend Angela Dimella and her team.
Description of Work: Angela is the best. She sent her electrician, Tony, who worked with me to design stairway lighting. I purchased that equipment and then Tony and his partner did a great job installing it.
We were extremely happy and satisfied with all the jobs done for our home and are currently in the works for other jobs regarding our large shed. We will continue working with Angela (the owner of the company), who is absolutely amazing. I can't say enough incredible things about Angela and her team. They truly are hard working and reliable. They felt like family to us because of their incredible personalities that resonated through their hard work. We worked with them during a long period of time, as there were so many jobs to be done for our new home and there was wonderful communication through out. We also had to travel a bit and they handled all my notes and details 100%. We highly recommend Hire Her Home Improvements Inc. to anyone ! ! ! Lastly, we also felt that her prices were fair. I took it upon myself to call many companies to compare quotes, before meeting Angela and found her prices and quotes absolutely fair. We look forward to working with her again very soon and hope you give her company a chance as well ! ;-) A note for a new customer: Call her way in advance for jobs you may want done, as she's always booked. That's the only thing I would say was hard for me to deal with haha!
Description of Work: Hire Her Home Improvements did so much work for me, I really don't know where to start. First, they started with the interior painting of our whole entire house (every single room). The living room needed more work and remodeling. The ceiling and walls needed to be sanded down and in some cases re-sheet rocked to fix the uneven areas and cracks that it had. Our house was built in 1812, so I needed to find a contractor that really took care of details and cared about the fragile areas of the house (such as our wide plank original wooden floors and more). They were so careful and took into consideration my "perfectionist"character & standards ;-) My personal favorite was all the painting done in our home by Jay. She was absolutely incredible and immaculate. They also helped me source a great place to source my "hard to match" colors. They also fixed and replaced all of the house's door knobs and door locks. They did all the light fixtures in the main rooms of the house. There was also some great custom carpentry jobs done for us, which we requested for a 16th century bed, as well as a door that needed to be fixed. They installed our 14kw generator and our 400 gallon propane tanks. This involved a lot of electrical work due to the fact that we have 2 separate electrical panels in our 1800s home. It also involved outdoor trenching work for the propane piping, as well as placement of the heavy tanks. They installed our new stove and converted our stove/oven to gas, so it could be hooked up to our propane tanks (as there are no gas lines where we live). This involved some plumbing & trenching work. They also replaced an exterior column to our house which held the roof to our porch.

Not much I can really add to the top grades here. Billy showed up when he said he would, worked diligently for a week, adapted to changing requests, and provided us with a ceiling and walls that look brand new -- a boon for an aging home. He was extremely clean and tidy, conscientious about keeping dust contained, and just an all around professional. Price was fair, quoted up front, and re-negotiated honestly throughout the process. These guys are the real deal. Will certainly use them again.

The flooring was old and very poorly done when I hired her. She came in and gave me an estimate, and within a week, she and her associate were on the floor putting in the new marble. It is possibly the best job I have ever seen! I have guests and friends comment very frequently at how well it fits together and the craftsmanship of the work. The clean up was extraordinary, I would have never known that they were there. Her associate replaced the sink and the toilet bowl and caulked it very well. It truly was an extraordinary job!
Description of Work: I hired her to replace the flooring in my bathroom.
Angela came to my home on 10/18/2012 and we went over everything that needed to be done--no really major jobs, just some minor things and a couple of areas/rooms in need of patching/priming/painting. I told her what my timeframe was and she said she would have to look at her schedule to see how/if/when I could be accommodated--which I would expect from anyone. I really liked her and her very practical approach. But I never got an estimate, even after leaving a voicemail several days later. I don't understand why.

Angela, a pleasant, personable, no-nonsense professional came over the day after I called and surprised me by immediately assessing the situation and gave me a price ($80) which was lower than anyone else. She ?guaranteed? me that the sealer ring was the problem and nothing else. No surprises. Angela is bright and clear. You get the feeling that what she says is solid. So at my convenience, Angela sent over Jason and he did all of the work in one hour. Like Angela, Jason is a pleasant, respectful person who worked totally clean and got right to work. When he left, you?d never know he was there. I did not have to clean up after him?as I almost always have had to do. He came with all of the right tools and supplies, promising to come back with the two ceramic bolt covers. I have no doubt that he will. I have no idea if Angela does this for all new customers with small jobs?but she refused payment. Smart. So now I?m thinking of a kitchen?. Would I hire her again: Absolutely!!
Description of Work: Leak in toilet. Toilet had to be removed and a new wax sealer ring installed. Bolts were problematic, rusted and frozen. Jason made quick work of it with his Sawzall. Prompt, quick, professional job.

Though Angela (the owner) answered my initial inquiry promptly, it took her more than a week to respond to a second email suggesting a few possible dates for her to come to my home to give an estimate. Since she apologized, I figured it wasn't something that normally happened with her. And since I loved the idea of a female-run contracting "handy-person" company, I went ahead and scheduled a time to meet. The meeting went well and she promised to get back no later than the following Wednesday (5 days) with an estimate. I emphasized that I was looking to build a relationship of trust, and that there would be steady work in the future. Well, a week went by. I sent a followup email inquiring about the estimate and saying (again) that I looked forward to proceeding. No reply whatsoever! Rude. Unprofessional. Guess she has so much work that she didn't need mine .... sadly, I would advise folks to stay far far away from this outfit
This was a tough job. Our house was built in the '50s and I'm not sure if the bathrooms have ever been re-done until now. Angela came over and we described our vision and asked her for ideas on how to achieve our goals while dealing with certain limitations (lack of space, low ceilings, etc.). She was friendly, punctual, knowledgeable, and helpful. She came back for another look and brought her plumber Michael to further discuss our design options. Together we came up with a realistic plan that we were all happy with. Her estimate came in roughly in line with the other contractors, but we liked Angela the best and definitely felt as though she was extremely trustworthy. Our guest bathroom is extremely small -- basically 5x5 with a small alcove for the toilet, as well as having a slanted ceiling due to the slope of the roof. The team did a complete demo, even going so far as to replace ALL of the old galvanized pipes from the stack down. Once we got a look at the old pipes, it was a wonder anything ever got through. I don't think I could fit a marble through all the sludge that had collected over 60+ years. They updated all of the electrical wiring in the bathroom going all the way down to the fuse box. They installed a vent in the ceiling (after a prior contractor had told us he couldn't do it). They sealed around a pocket door to fix a problem with leaking insulation. The space was extremely cramped and the heat (this was July) made for difficult working conditions. The tile work and fixture/accessory installation went well, and in the end we were extremely happy at how our old tiny bathroom was transformed into a beautiful, new, working(!!) bathroom. Total time was approximately two weeks. The second, and much larger, project was a total renovation of our master bathroom. In this case, we knocked down a wall and expanded the bathroom into the bedroom. We took out a tub and had a custom walk-in shower built. The door to the bathroom was moved and this necessitated building a new wall at the top of the stairs. Work was done to our hardwood floors. We took out a window which required insulation work on the inside and new wood siding (and paint) on the outside. As with the small bath, all electrical and plumbing was completely updated. Floorboards were replaced. A vent was installed. The custom shower came out amazing (especially difficult because of the slanted ceiling as mentioned before). We had a very large custom shelf built and tiled underneath the sink (approximately 5' long and 2' deep). She worked great with our architect and marble company. As with any large project, unforeseen complications inevitably arose, but Angela and her team were great about talking over our options and figuring out the best course of action. In the end, they were able to create a stunning bathroom that has twice the area while taking a minimum amount of space from the surrounding rooms. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the work of Angela and her team. Michael in particular is one of the nicest people we've ever met. He was great about explaining exactly what he was doing and made sure we were completely comfortable with everything. Seldon, Jaye, Billy, and the rest of the team were all friendly and did great work. And most importantly, Angela was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her communications skills are remarkable!! We could always get in touch with her (cell phone, text, email, etc.) without having to wait for a call back. As a proprietor, Angela understands that the #1 most important thing is to make your customer happy. No matter what the job was, big or small, she always wanted to make sure we were happy with the work. If there was anything at all that we weren't happy with she was extremely quick to rectify the situation to our complete satisfaction. Also of great importance -- her estimate is her estimate and she stands by it. All kinds of things came up in the course of the renovation that required more work than we had initially planned -- and unless it was something huge she never charged an extra dime. She even added certain bells and whistles (like a small bench in the shower) without charging us, because she wanted to make sure we were happy with the final product. I could go on for a while with all the reasons why we are so happy to have hired Angela. Obviously of utmost importance is the fact that her and her team were very respectful of the house and made sure there was the smallest possible interruption. They laid down drop cloths wherever they walked. They were very careful and mindful of our two (very curious) cats. They pointed out all different types of things about the house (like Michael showing us how to service the radiator, Seldon helping me with a project on the roof, and Angela taking a look at some carpenter ant damage in my garage. She even brought us tomatoes from her home garden!! And finally -- as the ultimate sign of satisfaction -- we immediately hired her again for another job (review to follow)!
Description of Work: We hired Angela to renovate and remodel two bathrooms, including a master bath and a small guest bathroom. This included demo down to the studs, followed by new sheetrock, flooring, tile, venting, painting, molding, electrical, and fixture installation.

We initially hired Angela to renovate/remodel our two upstairs bathrooms. The work came out so great, and we had such a good experience with her, that we decided to go ahead and get our downstairs bathroom taken care of as well. This was an easier job because she didn't need to do a lot of custom work -- it was basically just demo, sheetrock, painting, tiling, and fixture installation (along with updating all electrical/plumbing components and installing a vent). As with our previous experience, Angela and her team were a pleasure to work with. They did great work and transformed our old dilapidated bathroom that was frankly embarrassing into a beautiful new room that we are extremely pleased with. The work took a few weeks and she made sure we were happy with every detail before closing up shop. For a more in-depth review of all the things that make Angela great please see my prior review. Without a doubt, Angela will be our first call for any of our home renovation needs in the years to come!

It did not go well. I gave her the job based on what she told me about the quality of work she planned to do. We asked that she complete the first phase by June 8th, which she did. That weekend of June 8th, when I was doing the laundry, the basement flooded. This was caused by the plumber's negligence in not reinstalling all water pipes after draining them for the movement of the heating element. We called her and she came over and helped with the mopping. She agreed that it was her responsibility and she would fix our floors and any drywall damage. In the next 10 days they completed the rest of the deck. We were still holding out $1000 for the last few things that they needed to finish. That is when the problems started. I started realizing that nails were coming up all over the deck. We also realized that the railing on the deck was at a 10 degree angle. I asked her why they used nails and not the agreed upon screws, and she said it's because it had been done with nails when the original deck was built. They had to come fix it. Another detail that I needed changed was that when they resurfaced the existing deck, they put all of the joints of the surfaced wood right in front of the door. It was ugly and extremely bad planning. The guy came back to fix it, and ran out of nails and had to come back at a later time. I called her and asked when he would be back and she said 10 days. I didn't hear from her for 5 days and I said I didn't want to wait any longer. In a very angry way she said she would come back. Her and the carpenter did come back the next day and filled in the holes with all the nails, which took them 2 hours. I was very angry that they made me wait 3 weeks. When she came back that final day her attitude had completely changed. She didn't want to fix the work from the washing machine flood anymore. She refuses to do the remaining work or take the remaining wood back to the lumber yard. She left all mad. Two weeks later she emailed me and apologized for how she acted and said she would still like her remaining $1000 and she would remove the old wood that she left behind. She refused to fix the flood damage, so I asked for her insurance company, which she refused to give me. I finally got them to come and they gave me some compensation for damages. I then found that I have one, if not two, nails in every tire. I was left with more work and damage then when I started. At the end of the day, we like our deck, but it was h*** getting here. There are parts that we really like, but we paid a fortune to get them. It's going to cost another $5,000 on top of the insurance payment to redo all of the floors and rotten walls that now exist. It's also another $1000 for me to change all of the tires on my car.
Description of Work: They enlarged an existing a deck, resurfaced the existing deck, changed the entrance to the lower deck, and switched a window to a sliding glass door to the deck.

I researched plenty over an extensive period of time before deciding on Angela from Hire Her Home Improvements. I couldn’t be happier with my choice. Angela and her team are total professionals. Their work is excellent. I had a budget I was determined to stick to. Together we worked on the estimate so I could do as much upgrading as possible to my two bathrooms and still remain within budget. I now have a laundry room / half bath which makes my life much easier. My other bathroom has been fully upgraded and is beautiful!
Description of Work: My two bathrooms were upgraded. My half bath was extended to incorporate a washer/dryer. My full bath needed a face lift. A new floor was put in along with all new fixtures.
It went very well. Angela was very professional, answered emails quickly and arrived at agreed upon times.

Overall meeting Angela was a good experience but could not hire her since the estimate was outrageously high.
Description of Work: After meeting Angela when she arrived at my home to do the estimate to remodel my bathroom I was hoping to do business with her company. I had to contact her via email for the estimate over a week after the meeting. When I finally saw the estimate I thought she must have mixed up my home with someone else's, it was quite expensive & over the top of my budget. It was very disappointing however she was very personable & nice to speak to.
Everything went well. Only issue - getting her to initially talk to me. I work from home - she's also very busy, so we played phone tag a lot.
Description of Work: Sun room in the back of the house. Had some damage from a storm. One of the planks had to be replaced. Angela was thorough. She replaced the wood, installed new screens, new doors, and painted. She and her team cleaned up afterwards. I would happily hire her again. She also made suggestions as to what I can do to keep the sun room in good condition. Overall, a very positive experience.

I’ve recently had my bathroom totally gutted and renovated by Angela DiMella and her crew. Having been through reconstruction previously, I was dreading the experience. Angela made this the most pleasurable activity for me. From the first time I called her – she always answered the call or called back within a few hours. She always listened as to what I wanted and incorporated my ideas into the plan. She worked with me on choosing materials and offering suggestions. The timeline she presented was very reasonable and I felt that it would take far more time than she allotted. To my surprise, she started earlier than planned, accomplished everything she laid out for the day and was done well within the framework she presented. Her estimate was right on target with no overages though she warned me of different scenarios. Her crew was a delight to work with. They were knowledgeable, efficient, and skilled. From electricity, plumbing to tile, the work they did was superb. At the end of the day, their cleanup was impeccable and the bathroom could be used throughout the renovation. I am looking forward to planning another project with Hire Her Home Improvements.

From initial contact Angela was very responsive, she made her visits for the estimates work with my schedule and was always on time. She told me soup to nuts what I needed to get, and what her estimate would include, and answered all my questions. The crew always showed up on time, were extremely pleasant and fun, and we could trust them to work if we had to leave the house. I can't emphasize enough how trustworthy and pleasant they were. Every evening when they departed they made sure they cleaned up and we could use whatever possible in the BR. They ran into a couple of issues and Angela called right away to notify me and explain extra costs when relevant, and she never killed us on price with these surprises. It's an old house and we expected a few.The final product is absolutely gorgeous and we love it! Thanks Angela and team!!!!
Description of Work: Angela and her fantastic team completely gutted and remodeled our bathroom. She took her time to explain all the details I would need to understand and balanced what I wanted as an end product and what we would need to get it done. Since I knew how I wanted it to look, but am not so good with the home improvement specifics Angela was extremely patient and talked through everything with me. Her and her team always made great suggestions to make it work. The house is quite old and has had numerous patchwork work done in the bathroom. Hire Her Now, did it right and cut no corners, our bathroom is beautiful and will last a very long time! They put in a whole new floor, had to add support, did all new walls, tiling, tub and shower, sink, toilet, lighting and air vent.
