So I almost never and really hate to leave reviews for people or products when I haven't had the chance to actually receive their services or try the product, however I felt compelled to share my experience with this contractor. I will try and recount the details as best possible since it has been some time. I specifically joined Angie's list because I was having a hard time finding reputable, talented, trustworthy service providers that I could count on. We bought our home 2 years ago and it's needed tons of work so we were in need of various providers to help. Joined Angie's list after having 2 bad experiences with providers. Was really excited to work with Hire Her home improvement because she had great reviews and the pictures of her jobs looked great. I contacted her once via email back in August. As a preface, I googled how far each provider I contacted was located from my house so that travel wouldn?t be an issue. This provider showed about 35-40 minutes which to me seemed reasonable, especially since her license states she covers Putnam county which is where I live. I contacted her mainly for a bathroom remodel and expected to use her for other jobs around the house. My initial email to her stated what we were looking for and where we lived, I wanted to be upfront on location so it wouldn?t be a problem going further. When she replied she said how I lived an hour from her and ?not that she minds but they are swamped right now?. She told me they weren?t available until Oct or
Nov if I wanted to wait. We were getting married at the end of Oct so I didn?t want to add too much to our plate so I said I?d reach back out after the wedding as I did look forward to using her because her work looked great. I also mentioned that we were actually only 40 min from her. By the way before all my emails to her I actually left messages on her phone and never received calls back so I went the email route. The end of Nov I contacted her again and asked if she had time to meet us to take a look at the project. I again mentioned where we lived. She responded asking what town we lived in and said she was booked up until Jan/Feb and if I sent her some dates we could set up an appt to look at the job. I replied, let her know our location, and gave her dates of when I was free. She never answered. Again, before I emailed this time I also left her a phone message which wasn?t returned. It honestly seemed like she didn?t want to travel the distance and was too busy to help us. If at any point she would have just said that she didn?t want to travel that far, I would have completely understood and continued my search elsewhere.  However, on her profile it says she?s licensed in Putnam and in her email she stated she didn?t mind. I really wish I would?ve
gotten to see her work and had been able to hire her but she was extremely hard to get a hold of and make an appt with. I told myself if this provider is already this difficult to schedule with, what happens if I actually hire her and need her to respond to my questions/concerns or with timing of getting the job done. To this day I?m still searching for a provider to handle our bathroom
remodel as it seems like most contractors are extremely hard to get on the schedule with?.

     When we knew we were going to renovate our kitchen, I joined Angieslist and started reading reviews. I was impressed with Hire Her reviews, but in true chauvinist form, I was still reluctant,  until I spoke to a few people (friends that have heard of Hire Her and Angela).  We decided to go with Hire Her after meeting Angela, who I found to be very accommodating and her estimate seemed better than reasonable.

     Angela has put together a wonderful bunch of guys that do the work.  Each seems to know and do their job well with each having different specialties like tiling, or painting, or duct work, or hanging cabinets.. These guys worked every day, always on time and just all round nice guys.

     The only thing better than her guys was Angela's desire to make you happy.  Rest assured that if you aren't happy, Angela isn't happy and she does not rest until you are. The bottom line is we are completely happy with Hire Her, we would not hesitate to use her again (we are already planning on it).

Hire Her Home Improvement did exceptional work when we updated our den into a more functional and private space.  Selden, one of Angela's contractors, did a fantastic job of building a closet, constructing a door frame, and hanging a barn door that I purchased.  He even went out of his way to build a pass-through (with a trimmed, magnetic door) from the new closet to an unused crawl space to allow for additional storage.  Angela's painters were neat and did a great job of matching the existing paint.  My wife, at 8 months pregnant (with twins), felt completely comfortable staying home with Angela's team which really put my mind at ease.

Great!  The installers came and hung a mantle on a very uneven stone fireplace wall.  They did a great job - it looks terrific.  They were quick and professional, and I would highly recommend Hire Her.

Working with Angela and her crew was the best experience we have ever had with a contractor. Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. They are all not only excellent professionals but a complete delight to work with. Everyone was punctual, friendly and unobtrusive. Sometimes I forgot they were in the house. No detail was too small to be addressed and we were given ideas and suggestions that helped us make some good decisions. They even took care of some problems in our other bathroom left by another contractor last year. The bathroom is gorgeous and we could not be more pleased with the job Hire Her Home Improvement did.

I found Angelas estimates to be competitive and fair. Angela was easily reachable by phone and email. After ripping off 1950 paneling, we discovered a myriad of unexpected problems - i.e no insulation, built on a porch, outside walls inside, etc.  Angela and her crew dealt with each problem with two or three options for me to choose from.  She had even anticipated some of the problems beforehand from previous houses that she worked on.    Work was started on time and finished on time with a great cleanup at the end of each day.  Their ideas were creative and workable solutions to a very bizarre second floor space with sloping roofs.

Work went well - all tiling was done beautifully, walls were pushed out to accommodate a new bathtub.  So structural changes were required, some rerouting of drains, etc.  But all was done with the best care, and quality - and I got to see it every step of the way. They installed a "Bluetooth" exhaust fan with a built in speaker for iPhone, etc.  THAT was awesome.  Also, I requested an over sized shampoo box, since this bathroom was for two 20-something girls.  Excellent workmanship - and the girls are loving the bathroom now!

Additionally - they closed up a shower that was placed in a hallway - adjacent to the bathroom - it just didn't make sense - so we converted that to a larger storage area - and pushed out a wall in the existing bathroom to create room for a great tub.

All in all - great work, highly recommended!

She delivers ? Angela did everything she promised, and  more.  She began when she said she would, it took exactly as long as she estimated, and she delivered a beautiful quality product. Her communication skills are excellent. Any issues are handled promptly and professionally.  She?s honest and reliable, and does fabulous work. 
Jason led my job.  He, Rolando and Selden demolished my plaster-walled bathroom in one day. Each day was exciting to see the rapid progress.  It took 2 weeks, and the change was drastic.  Jason made several suggestions that made sense and enhanced the design considerably, even though it made the job harder for him.  The tile work looks spectacular, and it was not easy as the tiles I chose had different depths.
To be honest, I did not get any other quotes for this job.  Hire Her is worth it.  She doesn?t ?nickel and dime? you ? the price she quoted is the price I paid. I had used them before to do my kitchen.  It was such a pleasant experience that using them again is a no-brainer.  I was not disappointed this time either ? I will definitely use them again.

I don't believe things could have gone better!! I was especially impressed by all the input concerning the tiling. All in all, I appreciated the upfront honesty as issues occurred and the overall professionalism of Angela and her crew. I would definitely highly recommend them, band I look forward to having them work for me again.

Angela and her team were a pleasure to work with, and we are very happy with the results.
Her team of young craftsmen were capable and congenial. Even though a few small additional items were done, those did not result in extra charges. Nonetheless, I would urge providing a written list of expected items to avoid misunderstandings. We had a miscommunication about ceiling lights. 
A job this complex will inevitably encounter some "bumps in the road" and Angela was always quick to correct any problems cheerfully. Her standards for the finished product are high.
The team made every effort to minimize disruption of the household during the work. This included using drop cloths to protect floors from the front door to the bathroom, putting these and other items away every night and cleaning up.
We are thrilled with our new bathroom and have happy memories about the process. The bulk of the work took place from late December through February.  Weather and holidays resulted in a longer process than anticipated.
The price does not include the fixtures and washer and dryer, which we purchased separately.

When we walked in the first day of demolition, we were amazed  at how clean the kitchen looked. Dust was kept to a minimum. In the few weeks the work took, I felt that I could trust each person who came in.   Angela checked in and was present to ensure things went smoothly.    We recommended Hire her for all your projects.  We anticipate remodeling our bathroom and look forward to working with Angela once again.

Angela and her crew absolutely transformed my kitchen, and living room.  Guests at my home simply cannot believe it's the same house.  From start to finish, the job was professional, every detail attended to, the projected end date was met, and the final product was perfect.
I've used Hire Her for my bathroom, and was so pleased with the work that I was inspired to re-model the kitchen and living room.  Once again, the collaboration on the part of the contractor, the plumber, the electrician was excellent - and the whole process was really a pleasure.

The crew were very hardworking, skilled, friendly, prompt, attentive to detail, and always cleaned up thoroughly at the end of the day.  We highly recommend Hire Her to do any home improvement in your house.   We will be using them again to gut our guest bathroom and update our kitchen.

I hired Angela to remodel my kitchen.  It was my first experience with AngiesList.  When I met her, I knew I wanted to hire her.  She seemed very confident and clearly knows what she's doings.  She's seen it all before, and has lots of experience.
Angela is terrific ? very customer-focused.  It?s a pleasure working with her.  Any time a problem arose, her response is
? don?t worry ? I?ve got it covered?.   It?s the EXACT OPPOSITE of the nightmares you see on HGTV.  She kept me informed each day on current status and the upcoming timeline.  She started the day she said she would, and ended before Thanksgiving, despite delays awaiting permits thanks to the city.    She did much more than agreed and did not charge me one extra penny.  It was as painless as a kitchen remodel can be.
Jason supervised my job.  He and his crew arrived each day on time, and cleaned up each evening before they left.  They did everything possible to accommodate my wishes, asking me if I preferred this or that up front.  We changed the layout, electrical, plumbing, hvac, etc.  She coordinated the specialists and added the right people at the right time.  Jason shuffled the order of tasks to keep the overall project on schedule, and did fabulous carpentry work to make everything look perfect.
On a side note, Angela's a wonderful person.  She cares about her family and her workers as well as her customers and it shows.
I highly recommend her!

I consider myself to be a demanding customer. If I hire a professional, I expect the job to be done perfectly.  Hire Her Home Improvements exceeded my expectations.  The basement came out beautiful. 

The project went extremely well.  Angela, the owner, was involved in every aspect of the project.  She takes pride in a job well done and goes out of her way to make her customers happy. I found her to be fair, honest and trustworthy in dealing with me. Overall, she is a pleasure to deal with.

Angela's crew arrived when scheduled and put in a full 8 hour day. Their workmanship was meticulous. Angela was consistently inspecting the progress to ensure the quality of the workmanship was up to her standards. Angela's standards were even higher than mine.

Hire Her Home Improvements is now my "go to" contractor. I am planning to use this company again in a major renovation project in the near future.
