I read the reviews on Angie's List and decided to give these guys a try. The wife and I had purchased a new home and never used a wood stove before, so we had questions. Mark arrived and gave everything a complete inspection, discussed how to properly use the stove, and answered all my questions completely. | |Having no knowledge of wood stoves, I could easily have been taken advantage of... The home we purchased is about 100 years old, but in the end, they found *no issues*. Considering the homes age, and my lack of knowledge, they could have easily exploited me for something I didn't need. | |These guys are honest and trustworthy.

He showed up not the time we discussed which did interfere with my other appointment. I tried calling to see where he was and had to leave a message. He returned my call later. I must say however, I knew he was very busy (busy time of the year) and he did squeeze me instead of me waiting a month or two. I found him friendly and apparently willing to satisfy me. I will try using him again because of that. I will certainly not wait in the season to get the chimney done. It's a no brainer

I called after receiving an estimate for work from a company I had done business with in past, but was questioning scope of work to be done. When I called I asked if I could have a second opinion/estimate of work that might be needed. Jonathan was punctual, professional and explained at each point what he was doing/looking for. He did tell me that work needed to be done, but was able to further describe the type and plan. He was knowledgeable with town code, and advised that permits would be necessary, something the other company did not mention. In speaking with him, I felt that care and concern for a "job well done" was a priority. No work was performed at this date, but estimates for future work are being complied and I will definitely be using JP Chimney Services.

Saw JP Chimney Service on Angies List and read the reviews. We like dealing with local companies and he was nearby. He returned my call promptly and we discussed what we wanted done (inspection and chimney caps). We were lucky because he had a change in schedules and could do it the same day we called. He inspected the chimney inside and outside. Caulked the minor cracks in the chimney and installed two stainless steel critter proof caps. He noticed that our hearth and flue were not installed properly and advise us that there could be potential problems and gave us a quick estimate of what it could cost to repair and other options, such as a gas insert. Very pleased with his honesty, price, and service. Would highly recommend him and hope to do business with him again in the future.

This is some of the best service I have received from any kind of contractor. They were friendly, punctual, quick, cleaned up after themselves and they didn't charge us labor to replace a part that was incorrectly installed originally. Great company and great work!

They showed up exactly when they said they would at 7:45 A.M. They began to work immediately. There was no nonsense about what they needed. They arrived prepared with all the right tools , materials and equipment. They worked non stop. Several times I had asked if they wanted some cold beverages or a bite to eat. They declined citing they wanted to finish the project. They worked straight through until they were finished which was 8:00 PM. This was a very difficult as the chimney liner was bending and curving with each separate apartment. No complaints or moaning or groaning from the workers. When finished they cleaned up very thoroughly. Without hesitation or reservation I would HIGHLY recommend them and use them again. They priced the job properly and conducted themselves very professionally.

After reading about JP Chimney on Angie's List, I contacted the company. One of the owners, Jonathan, initially inspected and analyzed the entire fire place system. He then met with me to describe in clear detail what he proposed to do to do an upgrade, make the fire place attractive and safe, but still retain its vintage look. For example, the old unit did not have a liner, which was a safety hazard. The old damper was corroding and difficult to use. The chimney did not have a cap, so rain and debris were coming down the flue, causing brick corrosion. We agreed that he would send me a detailed proposal, which he did within 48 hours of our meeting. After agreeing to the estimate, I asked when the work would be performed. He identified the start week, and the work was begun on time and finished about 1/2 day before the estimated time of completion. His brother Paul called me each day to describe the progress they had made, and emailed me photos to show me how things were developing. After the job was completed, I met with Jonathan at my house the following week. The job was highly professional, the house was left in immaculate condition, and Jonathan briefed me on the details of the work, brought me two packages of logs, and demonstrated his favorite method of making an efficient fire. The job even came in below the estimate. JP Chimney is what all consumers hope they will get in a contractor.

They are fast, efficient and clean. Very professional jobs were done with all the correct equipment so it was done right and not a speck of ash entered the house. They are experts who want you to have a safe fireplace and wood stove so they corrected anything that needed fixing and gave advice for a better experience. They are worth every cent they charge and offer a senior discount. I have used them for about 4 years and feel safer having them clean and fix my system since I burn a lot of wood to heat the house.

Called JP Chimney and made an appointment. Johnathan came on time and thoroughly checked out my entire chimney and fireplace. What was most impressive was his professionalism. Checked the chimney out from outside and the fireplace inside. I have never had a fireplace and Johnathan went over fireplaces and how to actually get the most enjoyment from them. He actually made another appointment to come back and really show us how to make a great fire. When he did come back, he didn't rush through but took the time to show and explain again. Explaining the best wood to use, etc. Really an awesome experience and highly recommend them.

I cannot say enough good about these guys. Not only did they do a beautiful job during a tricky installation on our wood stove (very old house), but their follow-up care has been been flawless. We do have them service our chimney every year, but they have come out free of charge whenever we have had a problem or question. They schedule cleanings way in advance so I do not have to worry about forgetting. I was a little concerned about the safety of having a wood stove, but feel 100% confident after watching them install and receiving their training. They have stood by the stove they sold us 100%. They are/were very careful about making a mess and leave everything spotless. So happy we went with them. In summary: highly professional.

We were very happy to get it fixed so fast.

We liked him and he was responsive and on time. He was very thorough and sent pictures with his iPad of places we couldn't see on the roof.

.All of the workers were courteous to me and our home, called to confirm appt and what time they will arrive, cleaned up all of any mess they made, and gave us a very fair price for the work. I am completely satisfied with J.P. Chimney's work, and they also will be providing the annual cleaning of the liner system. Jonathan went out of his way to make sure we had product to burn and called his supplier to do that. I highly recommend J.P Chimney to anyone who is looking for masonary work on their chimney or fireplace, or having a liner system installed, a wood stove or insert installed or a cleaning of your flue's.

We had called in the summer and he was unable to come out until the end of October. I did make a tentative date with him just in case. After calling a few other chimney companies we decided to keep the appointment. We decided to wait and see how the chimney was doing since it wasn’t broken. He was very informative and helpful. We don’t know how his work is, but his personality was good. He was available to answer questions and provided good feedback on what may need to be done in the future.

Arrived ontime, explained the process, cleaned the chimney and they were so clean I could not even tell they had been here.

JP was able to address the problem immediately and, as it turns out, rather easily. But what impressed me to no end was he did not charge me ANYTHING, owing to the ease of the repair. He easily could have charged me for the service call but said he was more interested that the problem had been solved readily and asked me to consider him the next time my chimney needs a routine cleaning. He HAS my business when that time arrives.

They arrived when they said they woould and cleaned-up after each days woork. If they couldn't make it one day they would let me know ahead of time.

They are very personable and the service is great. They are also very nice and very professional. They went above and beyond to help me out quickly because I was selling my parents house. They made time for me during a time that was very busy for them. Their work was A-1 for both my home and my parents home. They've treated me well through the years.

There is no story. This question is annoying. JP Chimney cleans my chimney every year. One year in order to improve efficiency they built on to the top of the chimney and made it taller. I don't remember what it cost. I do know it was a fair price. This company is professional, respectful and goes out of their way to be helpful.

Working with this company was very easy. He came when he said he would, and finished when he said he would. The job came in slightly under the estimate.

Went as it always does -- uneventful, efficient and thorough.

An estimate was actually given in late fall of 2011, but it was agreed that work would be performed in the spring. After I called, the woork was begun promptly and professionally carried out. There was a certain amount of drying time required, and then washing of the brick. Every procedure was explained to me. Both Jonathan and Paul are courteous and professional. I feel they did a great job, and would recommend them.
