jonathan and his crew were great. they were definitely professional and knew their stuff. we just bought the house, and the old stove wasn't working well, and jonathan told us exactly why....the previous owners hadn't maintained their chimney at all, and had no piping up the flu either. the new stove they installed for us works very efficiently and has provided us with quite a bit of warmth throughout this cold winter in the lower hudson valley. we would highly recommend their services for any chimney related needs you may have. they even did some masonry work for us by laying some blue stone in front of the stove to get everything up to code.

they arrived on time, kept the living room very clean, and provided detailed info on the condition of my boiler flue. I have since arranged for them to return and do some upgrading of my boiler flue in the basement. I was very pleased with their knowledge and competence

It was a very thorough inspection and cleaning of our wood stove and chimney. He checked the entire system and explained what he was doing as the inspection and cleaning progressed. He was able to give my husband a few "tips" about the wood stove operation that should help us to get more effective heating. He took great care to keep the area clean and dirt/dust free and when he was finished -- you would never know there had been a stove and chimney cleaning.....everything was neat and clean. The whole operation took alittle more then an hour. We have had the service done every year and didn't anticipate any problems. We were also extremely happy to find that we qualified for a SENIOR DISCOUNT! His price was very reasonable to begin with but the discount just made the deal that much sweeter. We informed the serviceman to put us on his list for next year --- we are very happy with the work he did. He informed us we would be getting a newsletter in the spring that would allow us to book our appointment at our convenience. Would DEFINITELY recommend...

Jonathon inspected the chimney and boiler flues for cracks and creosote buildup. He instructed me on how to prevent chimney fires and when he finished his inspection told me that I did not have to have the chimney cleaned at this time for safety. I opted to have it cleaned anyway. He covered my living room rug, vacuumed the chimney and cleaned up after himself. He was at all times courteous and respectful of me and my environment. He is going to return to put on a new cap. Very nice person to work with.

I have used this service for at least 5 years. They are punctual, professional, and do a great job. In the past they have repaired my stove, and fixed the chimney to my furnace that had been improperly connected by the installer, as well as cleaned the chimneys. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Communication was excellent and Gary and Paul were very professional, working hard, efficiently and non-stop, even in the heat. They were not able to finish the job within the 2 day estimate but returned and completed the job doing excellent work and the job turned out better than we expected. They were neat and their cleanup made it so you would hardly believe they had been here. I am considering their services for additional repairs to another chimney and would highly recommend their services.

They're fabulous and it's a fair price. They care on what they do and they do it well.

Jonathan and George were communicative, professional, and provided us with lots of information about what's going on with the fireplace in our new home and what needs to be done in order for it to be used again. The damage is extensive, and we can't afford the necessary repairs right now -- but when we can, we'll be getting back in touch. In the meantime, they installed caps to keep the animals and elements out. After our appointment, I went over to a friend's house for dinner, and mentioned that we had our chimney inspected. My friend asked who we hired, and upon hearing that we called JP, my friend said, "they always clean our chimney -- they're the best in the area." Although JP has gotten extensive positive feedback on Angie's, it was nice to hear that validation from a good friend, too. Clearly they know what they're doing.

I emailed Jonathon for a quote and he replied he would stop by to take a look sometime the next day. The guys showed up and installed in 5 minutes and left.

Excellent. The owner and tech were on time, courteous, and professional. Great care was given to protect floors (beige carpet) and there was no mess when they were finished. They provided useful tips and suggestions on wood storage, fire building, and their newsletter is fantastic. JP Chimney Services will be the only company we use going forward. We have full confidence in using our fireplace, knowing it was cleaned and inspected by John and his crew. Even my dog liked them; she usually barks at all strangers.

They called me back within 10 minutes of my phone call. They confirmed the visit with me a few days before their appointment. They confirmed one more time as well as calling the morning of the appointment to let me know what time to expect them. They arrived punctually and left my house neat and clean. They explained how to use my fireplace correctly. I always thought that you should start the fire from the bottom but you need to start it from the top so you not only start the fire but get the fireplace warm inside the chimney. They gave me an entire box of little pellets that you use in a charcoal grill to help start the fire. They were very kind and I would definitely use them again.

Jonathan came out for the estimate, showed me a catalog of some wood stoves that would fit into my space, and a few weeks later installed a stove into my existing chimney. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Would recommend highly.

It came out great. There work was excellent and they helped with everything from choosing the correct stove for our house to applying for all the necessary permits. They even found a tax credit. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

As a landlord and an Active Duty member stationed at Fort Sam Houston; it is good to know I can count on JP Chimney to answer the call! My tenants in Walden, NY informed me that they had no heat because the boiler would turn on and immediately shut off. I contacted my heating and cooling repairman and he said that there could be blockage in the chimney. When I first purchased the home in 2007 I had a company clean the chimney and could not remember the name. I immediately got on the internet to locate a chimney company in Walden who would do the service today. The time was 4pm EST and I am calling each company in order of the Google Search. The first company said sorry too late already getting dark. I then saw JP Chimney and remembered they were the ones who serviced the chimney the first time. I called and got Jonathan's voicmail and I left a message and started looking for the next company. Within minutes Jonathan calls and tells me that his brother is on his way to the house. We did not discuss price or anything but I was relieved and let my tenants know who have two kids and expecting a third. After they solved the problem and got the heat back on, they were polite and did not question payment with my tenants. I received a call from jonathan and we settled the bill payment. It was the best customer service I have received and it was not in person. I would recommend anyone in Orange County to call JP Chimney for any chimney related service, so much so, that I joined Angie's List just to write this review on them. Excellent service and communication

I've been using JP Chimney for years to clean out my wood fireplace's chimney annually. Now that I moved, I do not have a wood fireplace, alrhough I am considering installing a wood stove and having JP Chimney install that in the future. I had them install a Vermont Castings propane stove in my mother in law cottage. They came out and did it in about 4 hours. They are professional, courteous, and do excellent work. I would trust them with anything from masonry work, to carpentry (cutting out soffit for stove pipe), to cleaning and installs. My actual bill was even LESS than the estimate. How often does THAT happen?! Awesome company!
