MINEOLA GLASS & MIRROR WORKS

They lost my first order. I had to return to showroom, which is filthy. They sent Jack to pick my doors for $98 fee, he clam and took my check but not my doors. He said had to check retainer strips at shop first to see if the glass I chose would fit. He said I would hear from within 5 days. Never heard from him, I called every couple of days. Spoke with Toby, who was nasty and obnoxious. She claimed he would call me back tomorrow, everytime I called. Had to ask my cabinet maker to get involved. He arranged my doors to be picked up. Two days later Mineola Glass finally calls me to let me know the glass I chose in DECEMBER is now DISCONTINUED. It is now 3/8/2018. They REFUSE to refund the $98, even though they can NOT fill my order!!!

I would not work with Mineola Glass again. We had a couple of windows replaced and, after the next rainstorm, we experienced a leak that caused minor damage to our home alarm which cost us $150 to fix. We called Mineola Glass and they sent someone to look at it. The Mineola Glass employee told us that the installer forgot to caulk the window. The employee then caulked it and we haven't had an issue since. We asked Mineola Glass to pay for our costs given that it was their fault that we incurred the cost and the owner was very rude. He refused to stand behind their faulty work. Mistakes happen but not standing behind your work is extremely poor business practice.

Tried to go to Home Depot to have this done, but they wouldn't cut the plexiglass they sell. Took about 3 days to have the work done, but given their very inconvenient hours, I had to wait until the weekend to pick it up (close at 5 weekdays, only open until noon on Saturdays, closed Sundays). As someone who works in the city you can imagine this rules our mid week pickup. Everything was bundled up for me when I picked it up in the store, but when I got home, I found the measurements off on 3 of the pieces, by about 3-6 inches each. Given their hours, I then had to wait until the following weekend to exchange, stretching what should have been an easy project by about 2 weeks. The store doesn't seem to be set up for people to walk in as there is stuff EVERYWHERE and feels like a storeroom/warehouse and there isn't very much on display. In fact the phone was ringing off the hook so I assume most people transact over the phone and have them come install. Overall, the staff was friendly enough, and I prefer to support local businesses over the big guys. I would use them again but double check their measurements before you leave the store, and plan ahead with their hours.
